Lock Installation Kit

An installation kit for routing openings in aluminum doors and frames is new from Security SUPply Service. It contains all the tools necessary for the precise field installation of locks, electric releases and strikes in aluminum doors and frames.

For operating ease and speed, a universal mounting tab with four height adjustments is prealigned with the mounting holes of all temPlate tools.

The kit is designed for AdamsRite products; however, TemPlates are also available for other manufacturers.

Foam-lnsulated Panels

Hunter Douglas Residential Building Products has Climatic, an aluminum siding panel insulated with sprayedon polyurethane foam. The PolYester melamine finish siding panels are backed with the same insulating material used in refrigerator doors and freezer truck walls.

It is available in eight colors and two textures in an 8" horizontal and a twin-four style, which is a onepiece panel with a shadow line effect to simulate 4" narrow siding.

Stormy Days

Season-all Industries has a onelite storm window with a glass insert which is removable from the outside. It's reportedly designed to improve the thermal efficiency of non-operating, single-lite windows, without sacrificing the ability for easy cleaning.

All models are designed for diy installation and are conveniently prepackaged for overthe-counter sales.

An emergency quick release allows the homeowner to disconnect the opening mechanism for manual operation in the event of a Power failure; with power restored, the system automatically reconnects upon activation by either the transmitter or receiver controls.

3M Company's 3C Wall Bond is a multi-purpose panel adhesive. It reportedly assures easy, clean, economical installation of pre-finished panels, gypsum board, wallboard, plywood, insulation board to wood or metal framing, and flat wall surfaces.

Fast, one-surface application is said to be waterproof, strong and flexible. No waiting, bracing or nailing eliminates puttying, spackling, nail holes, nail popping and hammer dents-deadens sound. Not damaged by freezing.

It gives a 50% reduction in single glass conduction heat transfer, and is a year 'round window energy conservation measure, according to the company.

Luxalon, an imaginative architectural system for ceilings, soffits, and facades is made from roll formed aluminum, by Hunter Douglas Inc.

The basic system consists of a range of carriers to which a standard panel is simply clipped without use of screws, bolts, or rivets.

The easily installed sYstem is corrosion resistant, lightweight, and incombustible, with good acoustical properties when installed with acoustic pads. It is available with related accessories such as splices, flush or recessed, closures, edge trims and cliPs. All come in a broad range of colors including a mirror finish.

Hot Stufl

Powrmatic's new Grate One incorporates sturdy cast iron grates so that ioal as well as wood can be used. It is available in two basic designs; one burns coal, wood and oil; the other burns coal, wood and gas.

Oil, (or gas) and solid fuel are burned in separate combustion chambers. The switch from one form of combustion to another is effected automatically.

During periods of Power failure, the solid-fuel chamber can be operated on the gravity principle. Otherwise, there are twin 10" blowers and positive draft control.

McCulloch Corp. has two new attractively priced Pro Mac saws intended for use by high-volume woodcutters.

Both the new Pro Macs are powered by a 3.1 CID engine with standard equipment, including McCulloch's antivibration system, capacitor discharge electronic ignition, large volume lowtone muffler with built-in spark arrester screen and a fuel sight gauge.

Both saws include as standard equipment all of McCulloch's safety features: Chain brake with wraparound handguard, muffler shield, throttle latch, safety trigger, right hand guard and boot loop for positive control while starting. Pro Mac 610 is $229.95; Pro Mac 650 is $289.95.

SuperSide Goes West SuperSide, a new nominal thick hardboard siding designed for improved performance in high moisture areas. has been introduced West of the Rocky Mountains by Masonite Corp.

Produced at their hardboard mill in Ukiah, Ca., SuperSide is available either as preprimed lap siding or prefinished panel siding for both site-built homes and manufactured housing. It has handling properties similar to Masonite's line of 7/ 16" thick X-90 hardboard sidings.

SuperSide lap siding is 12" wide and 16' long. It is finished in natural brown PreTone to provide a good paint base and comes in three different styles: a smooth finish for the traditional clapboard look, and the simulated woodgrain patterns of Masonite brand Ruf-X II and Woodsman. Ruf-X has the rustic appearance of rough-sawn wood, while Woodsman reproduces the grain and texture of natural cedar.

The Woodsman pattern is also featured on SuperSide vertical planked panel siding, available in either 4' x 8' or 4' x 9' panels with shiplapped edges. It is offered in three different prefinished colors.

Masonite says that more than one million square feet of SuperSide have been field-tested in the Pacific Northwest for the past three years with outstanding performance results.

With low moisture absorption, it maintains precise function despite constant exposure to water, and impact strength stays high, according to the firm.
