The Olympic Crest, new from Washington Stove Works, is both an airtight woodbuming stove for efficient, economical heating, and a handsome open fireplace to accent any room setting.

When the cathedral doors are closed and the damper adjusted, it operates as an airtight heater under controlled and adjustable combustion air intake, for maximum woodburning efficiency.

A new concept in patio doors, the Vista system combines the spacecreating effect of glass with insulated steel doors and a space-saving, unique center hinging method for decorating freedom.

Vista patio doors by Benchmark have 2-panel or 3-panel systems in complete units, which may be combined for any number of panels. Each panel is a ls{ight model or l-light with insulated safety glass in an insulated foam-filled steel door. By combining units, the spacious look of a glass panorama can be achieved with the protection of steel doors.

Any one door may be active. The active door is hinged to a center jamb, and swings back against an inactive door for more convenience in home decor. This double rabbeted jamb anchors the inactive door and combines with the patented Benchmark steel lock and deadbolt preparation for an added dimension of strength and security.

Plastic Backwater Valve

National Drain Supplies has the Spee-D-Valve Backwater Valve, molded in tough, durable A.B.S. plastic to eliminate rust and corrosion problems encountered with cast iron. It offers lower initial cost, lighter weight and substantial savings on installation time and shipping costs, according to the firm.

Intended for drain, sewer, irrigation and other residential, commercial and industrial applications where water back-flow must be prevented, it is available in D.W.V. dimensions of 3" and 4" with standard hub inlet and spigot outlet.

It includes a self-lubricating plastic hinge, eliminating the chance of rust or hang-up in the movement of the valve flapper and insuring a positive seal when the valve is closed, the firm claims. Standard 6" D.W.V. pipe may be used as a riser for access to the bayonet-threaded valve clean-out cap, eliminating the need for the usual brick-and-mortar box over the valve.
