W. E. CALHOUN

Williarn E. "Cal" Calhoun,76, died January 20, 1977 after a long illness.

He had been in the lumber busi ness since 1922, and worked for Patten-Blinn and Donover Co. Inc. in the years before retirement.

Mr. Calhoun is survived by his widow, Helen, two brothers and a sister.

Tom Bentley

Thomas L. Bentley, Puyallup, Wa, a noted plywood industry leader, died Feb. 6 at his home following an extended illness. Bentley, 55, was general manager of Puget Sound Plywood, Inc., Tacoma, Wa.

He held a B.S. degree from the University of Washington College of Forestry and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He began nearly 40 years ago at Washington Veneer in Olympia. In 1949, he joined Georgia-Pacific Corp. and later served as'eastern mill salqs manager. In 1952, he joined Anacortes Veneer, where he was gen. manager from 1957-62. He was then gen. manager of Menasha corp. ply- wood and lumber div. for two years, before joining Publishers Paper Co. n 1964 as gen. manager of the lumber and plywood division. He founded Benwood, Inc. Lake Oswego, Or., a wholesale forest products sales and consulting firm in 1972 and was partowner and president of CBS Plywood in Oakland. Ca.. from 1972-75. He joined Puget Sound Plywood in 1975.

Mr. Bentley is survived by his wife, Patti; his mother; a son and a daughter.

ROBERT E. DOWLING

Robert Emmett Dowling, a partner in the St. Helena Mill and Lumber Co., St. Helena, Ca., died January 14, 1977. He was 57.

Mr. Dowling was a native of St. Helena and was a member of the Volunteer Firemen, the American Legion and served in the Air Force during World War II.

He is survived by his step-sister, a niece and three nephews.
