More Plywood for Mobiles

The groundwork for more intensified promotion to the mobile home industry continues to be laid by the American Plywood Association.

Tests are now underway at the APA Tacoma. Wa.. Research Center to take advantase of the mobile home indus- try's growing requirements for plywood-up 62% since 1972. Plywood use has increased largely because of more stringent construction standards from regulatory agencies and growing demand by consumers for mobile homes that look more like conventional housing.

To capitalize on this trend, and to firmly establish continued strong growth for plywood, APA is conducting three major research programs to increase the use of plywood for roofs, walls and ridge beams in mobile home construction.

Robert L. Dunham, Denver sales manager for Georgia Pacific Corp., has been elected president of W.O.O.D., Inc., a nationally known local lumber industry promotion group and the only organization of its kind in the United States.

Starting his career with G-P in 1960 in Riverside, Ca., he has been in Denver since 1964. He has twice been the winner of the G-P coveted 'Vice President's Round Table Award' for outstanding sales and is also a winner of the 'Silver Cup Award' for outstanding sales performance.
