About us

We specialize in Country Club community Real Estate

Irons & Estates was founded by Broker and Owner, A.J. Powers. A.J Powers, is a Real Estate veteran with over 15 years experience in the Residential space. He has been a part of some of the top organizations and teams in the industry including the #1 team in San Diego County (per The Wall Street Journal). He was introduced to the game of golf at the young age of eight and quickly became obsessed with everything that came with it. He played competitively from the age of 10 all the way through High School. When faced with the tough decision of pursuing golf or Real Estate as a career, he chose his love for Real Estate. After 15 years of success in Real Estate and joining The Bridges in 2018, he realized that he had been missing an opportunity to combine his two passions into one. That is when Irons & Estates was born.

Having been in the industry for 15 years and owning brokerages for 7+ years, AJ has seen thousands of Agents come and go. He is obsessed with creating the best experience possible for clients and continuing to raise the bar. Our team is committed to results and our 170+ five star reviews show that. Whether it’s creative marketing plans or problem solving difficult transactions, we’re here to show you how it’s supposed to be done.

The game of golf is unlike any other game.

We want to give back to the community and ensure that our youth continues to be introduced to and fall in love with the game. We will set aside a portion of each commission closed to go to a charitable cause of either youth golf, a scholarship for a deserving high school student, or to sponsor a high school golf team that is underfunded

Autism and it’s impact on AJ

AJ’s daughter, Cameron (4), was diagnosed with Autism in 2021. She has been fortunate to have received early treatment which is something AJ is very passionate about and wants to continue to raise awareness and funds for.

I’ve had a TV show, radio show, hosted podcasts, sent direct mail, social media marketing, Google PPC, have an in-house media team, but there’s always been on thing that outperforms all those marketing tools…

Relationships.

The most success we have had in building our companies has been through relationship building. We’ve built relationships with professional partners, communities, vendors and clients for the past 15 years and there has never been anything with a better ROI. That is the approach we have taken with Irons & Estates. We want to build relationships with our target market and at scale. The best way to gain credibility and familiarity is to partner with quality people who can add value.

One of the biggest “aha moments” for us came about 10 years ago when we went down the path of requesting reviews from our clients. It was clear that it was far more powerful for someone else to share how great we were, rather than us tell our market how great we were.

That thought process led us to other avenues such as TV and Radio where we were able to bring on guests who could bring value to our database and allow us to share how great they were which helped them all obtain new business. It’s social proofing and it works well, really well.
