Limitations of WiFi network

The amount of devices you can connect directly to your WiFi network is limited by the particular WiFi router you have and its maximum allowable amount of connected devices. You may need to upgrade your router or install Access Points (APs).

Smart Security Products

The BrilliantSmart security products are designed for easy connection to each other to enable you to create your own security network. Simply use the Sequence & Automation function to automate your smart sensor, reed switch or even the camera so they activate the smart siren when triggered.

Sequences in general

You can also connect most of the range of BrilliantSmart products to each other. For instance, by using the Sequence & Automation function in the BrilliantSmart app you can automate your Smart downlights to turn on if your Smart sensor detects movement, your garden lights to turn on when your camera detects movement etc.

Please note: If you need to control IR devices (such as airconditioners, televisions, etc that use a remote control) throughout your home where there is no line-of-sight, we suggest you add the Home Lite(s) as an IR extender.

Application and Smart installation Guide

This table is a guide only. It indicates the number of devices that can connect to and control a standard home/business installation.

Each router is different and it is advised that you check specifications to learn the number of devices that can connect to your model first. Devices include mobile phones, tablets, computers, smart TVs, gaming consoles and other Smart WiFi devices.

Nexus Gateway controls your WiFi, Mesh, IR and Zigbee devices. It is not an access point or extend your WiFi capability. The number of WiFi devices connected is dependent on your router.

For multiple room applications where your IR devices require line-of-sight, an additional Nexus Home Lite is needed in each corresponding room.

Colour Coding on Graph

Orange indicates a greater number of WiFi devices can be connected by upgrading your network with additional access points or by upgrading your router/modem.

Bluetooth Mesh

Bluetooth Mesh products can be controlled via the BrilliantSmart app. For greater functionality a Bluetooth Mesh Gateway is required. Each gateway can connect up to 64 Bluetooth Mesh devices.
