WELCOME TO BRIGHTON COLLEGE BANGKOK
Here we believe in a holistic education that is as academically rigorous as it is personally enriching. Our academic standards are high and so too are our expectations that every pupil, at every level, is inspired and motivated by the widest range of experiences and challenges of a Brighton College education.
We strive for success in every sense - whether that is measured in classroom progress, in the examination room, or in recognition of effort and endeavour in so many different ways. We also strive to ensure that our pupils are happy. Happy with their own development and achievement, and happy in the positive impact that they make on the people and environment around them. This balance of success and happiness lies at the heart of our ‘culture of kindness’ and of our ethos of social responsibility.
We know that young people learn best when they feel supported and secure. Our strong pastoral system is designed to care for every pupil, to encourage them to aim high, to go beyond their comfort zones and to exceed even their own expectations.
Through an innovative curriculum and imaginative world-class teaching, Brighton College Bangkok is on an exciting journey of continuous improvement. Technology and styles of teaching evolve, yet our values remain the same: good manners, hard work, respect, and confidence without arrogance. These are part of the DNA that defines our community.
It is a privilege to guide education at Brighton College Bangkok. The relationship between the school, its pupils and the parents is a truly special one, with curiosity, confidence and kindness at the heart of everything we do.

Key Stage Three
“The school community is wonderful. In the past four years, Brighton College has delivered such great teaching and opportunities for learning. I would say it’s the best school in the world.”
CURRENT PARENT
From Year 7 onwards, pupils follow an academically rigorous curriculum, providing the depth of understanding and the skills required to prepare them for the challenges of IGCSE qualifications. In Key Stage 3 pupils are given the opportunity to explore their passions and interests both in and outside of the classroom in order to help them make informed decisions later in their school careers.
During Wellbeing sessions tutors deliver the personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) curriculum to help support them with topics that fall outside traditional lessons, but provide them with a well-rounded education. In Year 9 our dedicated team of experienced teachers and advisors guide pupils through a comprehensive exploration the curriculum, enabling them to identify their strengths, interests, and aspirations in order to support them in making their subject choices for the IGCSE.

“The teachers and all the staff are so welcoming and friendly. They go out of their way to ensure a happy, creative and fun environment for the children.”

Key Stage Four

In Year 10, pupils begin their two year IGCSE journey. These qualifications are highly regarded by higher education institutions globally, including in the UK and USA. Pupils study a range of IGCSE subjects including core subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology along with several ‘Options’ which they choose from a range of subjects from the Arts, Sports, Languages and Humanities.
All courses are taught by expert, experienced and passionate teachers who know how to get the best out of their pupils. Key Stage 4 is a time when pupils are really able to develop their interests, curiosity and confidence, increasing depth and breadth of knowledge in their subjects and honing key skills. In addition to academics, the school’s aim is to ensure each child becomes the best version of themselves through our school values of being curious, confident and kind.
Wellbeing sessions focus on a range of topics from study skills, public speaking, stress management, careers research and much more. At the end of Year 11, most of our pupils progress onto our Sixth Form, where they are ready to begin their A Level courses and the next stage of the educational journey.

“ What makes Brighton College’s Sixth Form so unique is the one-to-one attention we get in lessons. The teachers truly know us, not just as pupils, but as people too.”

Our Sixth Form pupils follow the prestigious International A Level programme, acknowledged by universities around the world as the best preparation for undergraduate study. This has led to our alumni leaving us to study at many of the highest ranking universities across the globe, having been supported by our expert teachers, within engaging and challenging lessons.
We know that the transition from Year 11 to Sixth Form can be challenging, therefore we host transition events that enable our soon-to-be Year 12 pupils to visit the school, attend taster lessons and participate in team building activities. To ensure the transition to our Sixth Form is seamless, we also provide our current and prospective pupils with summer work which introduces them to their A Levels.
Even though our pupils leave us at the end of Year 13, they will always be a part of the Brighton family. We encourage our alumni to visit us and share their experience about life beyond the Sixth Form.

Once they leave, all of our pupils are given access to ‘Brighton College Connect’, an online portal which connects all alumni, across the world, from all Brighton College schools.
We want our pupils to leave our Sixth Form as fully-rounded individuals. Our latest addition, the Extended Project Qualification, allows our pupils to fully explore their interests and encourages them to become critical and independent learners.
In addition, through our carefully planned pastoral system we are able to offer our pupils opportunities to not only succeed academically, but to also become leaders, kindness ambassadors and self-assured individuals.

Pastoral Care
Pastoral care is central to what we do here at Brighton College. A culture of kindness is at the heart of a Brighton education - all pupils are treated as individuals, encouraged to respect one another, and nurtured to become the best version of themselves.
Every pupil is a member of a House and part of a Tutor group. Pupils meet each morning with their Tutors to start the day. Every day ends with a dedicated pastoral session, which focuses on wellbeing and personal development, building and fostering a sense of community and team spirit, helping each pupil become a well-rounded, independent global citizen.
“The environment here is incredibly nurturing. It’s more than just academics: it’s holistic; it’s everything”
YEAR 13 PUPIL

HOUSE SYSTEM
When pupils join the College, they become members of one of our four Houses, each led by a Head of House and supported by a team of teachers. Each House has its own identity, and pupils from different year groups collaborate in various House events and activities, which promote teamwork, leadership, and community spirit. While the House system encourages healthy competition, it ultimately fosters a sense of belonging and teaches that participation and mutual support are as rewarding as winning.
Our class sizes are small and our teachers create safe environments which allow pupils to develop their intellectual curiosity, be actively involved in lessons and also ensure personalised learning and support.

“The curriculum makes me want to be a child again!” CURRENT PARENT

Our specialist PE teachers hold a passion for providing sport for all. They encourage participation by teaching a wide range of sports, including weekly swimming lessons, and a wider co-curricular sports programme.
For pupils that have a passion for sport, we also offer both IGCSE and A Level PE courses, which enable pupils to immerse themselves deeper in the wider world of sport and physical education, and to gain a greater understanding of sports performance.

Pupils in the Senior School have their curiosity challenged in Dance, Drama and Music, and have the opportunity to perform in our exceptional theatre for pupils and parents at regular events, as well as at external events throughout the year. All pupils have the opportunity to take part in our amazing annual senior productions.
Pupils can also take advantage of one-to-one tutorial lessons for their preferred instrument in our purposebuilt instrumental music rooms.
We offer an academic route in all Performing Arts subjects for our most talented and dedicated pupils at IGCSE.

Each year, pupils at the College have the opportunity to participate in a diverse range of over 150 different CCAs, with greater variety offered each year as our community grows.

Annual UK Visit
Our Year 12 pupils have the unique opportunity to visit our sister school in Brighton, UK. Pupils are able to meet the key staff such as BCUK’s Director of Futures and university counselling staff who provide further advice and support with the university application process.

During the trip, pupils have the chance to visit prestigious UK universities and are able to develop an understanding of British culture as they consider living abroad potentially for the first time.

“ Visiting the UK provided some invaluable insights. Overall, the trip was a fantastic experience!”
