This ceremony, held on the very grounds where General George Washington and the Continental Armyonceencamped,remindsus thatfreedomisnotjustaconcept in our history books: it’s a living legacythatwearecalledtouphold and pass on. We invite you and your family to join us this IndependenceDayforthismoving tribute to our founding ideals, which has taken place every July 4thforoveracentury.

Aswehonorthepast,wearealsobeginningtolookahead.Thismonthmarksthe officialkickoffofLegacy2126-BridgewaterTownship’sinitiativetocommemorate the 250th anniversary of the founding of our nation by creating a 100-year time capsuletobesealedonJuly4th,2026.

As temperatures rise this summer, Bridgewater Township is here to help residents stay safe and beat the heat Cooling Centersarepubliclocationswhereindividualscangotoescape extremeheatandcooloffinanair-conditionedenvironment.

These spaces are especially important for seniors, young children, and those with health conditions that make heat moredangerous

Bridgewater has three cooling centers that are open during periods of excessive heat, as determined by the National WeatherService.

If you or someone you know is without air conditioning during a heatwave, don’t wait - come cool down in a safe, comfortable space. Water and seating are available, and no registrationisrequired

An OPRA request short for Open Public Records Act request is a formal way for the public to access government records in New Jersey. Through OPRA, residents, journalists, and other interested parties can requestcopiesofdocuments,emails,permits,contracts,andotherofficial records maintained by public agencies, including municipalities like BridgewaterTownship.
