Lookingahead,Junebringsseveralimportantevents.ThePrimaryElectionwilltake placethismonth,andIencouragealleligibleresidentstomaketheirvoicesheard As a reminder, the Bridgewater Municipal Courtroom will once again serve as a SomersetCountyearlyvotinglocation.AnySomersetCountyregisteredvotercan cast their ballot in person in the courtroom between June 3 and June 8. WeareincrediblyproudtocelebratethesuccessofourBoysHighSchoolRugbyteam,whoclinchedthe BlueLeagueStateChampionshiponMay17th.Theteamcompletedanundefeatedseason,showcasinggrit, skill,andteamworkeverystepoftheway.Theirchampionshipvictorycameincommandingfashion,witha 40–14winoverBergenCatholicinthefinalmatchup

This impressive run is a testament to the dedicationoftheplayersandtheleadership oftheircoaches.Fromthefirstwhistleofthe seasontothelasttryinthechampionship game,theteamdemonstratedwhatitmeans to play with heart and determination. Congratulations to our champions on an outstanding season you ’ ve made our communityproud!

The Washington Camp Ground Association (WCGA) proudly preserves a vital piece of American history: the Middlebrook Encampments, where General George Washington and the ContinentalArmycampedduringtheRevolutionaryWar.Foundedin 1893 by local businessman George Lamonte and other patriotic citizens,theWCGAremainsdedicatedtohonoringthesacrificesmade duringthosecrucialyears.

Asanonprofitorganization,theWCGAcontinuesitsmissiontoeducatefuturegenerationsaboutthe importanceoftheencampments.Throughscholarshipsforlocalstudents,historicalpreservationefforts,and collaborationwithexperts,theassociationensuresthatartifactsanddocumentsrelatedtotheencampment remainprotectedandaccessible.

OneofitsmostcherishedtraditionsistheannualFourthofJulycelebration,atraditiondatingbacktothelate 1800s Eachyear,attendeesgatherforpatrioticexercisesandthereadingoftheDeclarationofIndependence aneventthatnowincludesscholarshiprecipientsproudlyparticipatinginthishistoricritual.Tolearnmore abouttheWCGAortogetinvolved,visitwww.wcga.us
