Merit-Based Scholarships

Merit scholarships for incoming freshmen at Bishop Montgomery high school are awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, leadership potential, and personal excellence. These scholarships recognize hard work and talent, offering financial support to students who have contributed positively to their school community.

By rewarding merit, Bishop Montgomery encourages students to strive for high standards both inside and outside the classroom, fostering a culture of excellence and opportunity from the very start of their high school journey.

BISHOP MONTGOMERY HIGH SCHOOL

BLACK AND GOLD SCHOLARSHIP

Bishop Montgomery will award five 50% tuition scholarships ($7612.50) to the top overall scorers on the HSPT who submit their applications and all required paperwork by the January 7, 2025 deadline. Applicants must take the HSPT at BMHS. These scholarships are renewable each year at BMHS to cover half of the annual tuition costs.*

*To be eligible for BLACK & GOLD Scholarship consideration, students must have a record of good citizenship, have demonstrated a dedication to academics and their school community, and have taken the HSPT at Bishop Montgomery High School.

*To be eligible for BLACK & GOLD Scholarship renewal, scholarship recipients must maintain a minimum 3.75 GPA. Scholarship covers tuition costs only and does not include fees, optional purchases, or student club/athletic memberships.

No application necessary. Recipients will be selected based on application documents.

PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Presidential Scholarship is awarded to (5) incoming 9th grade students from one of our partner Archdiocesan Catholic schools that have demonstrated excellence in academics, community or parish service, leadership in school and outstanding character. The one-time $5,000 scholarship is to be applied to tuition.

Scholarship Requirements:

• Academic: Minimum GPA of 3.75

• Character: Must be involved in community service

• Discipline: Conduct and attendance must be exemplary

• School Involvement: Must be involved in extracurricular activities

No application necessary. Recipients will be selected based on application documents.

PRINCIPAL SCHOLARSHIP

Principal Scholarship is awarded to (5) incoming 9th grade students from one of our partner Archdiocesan Catholic schools that have demonstrated excellence in academics, community or parish service, leadership in school and outstanding character. The one-time $2,500 scholarship is to be applied to tuition.

Scholarship Requirements:

• Academic: Minimum GPA of 3.5 – 3.7

• Character: Must be involved in community service

• Discipline: Conduct and attendance must be exemplary

• School Involvement: Must be involved in extracurricular activities

No application necessary. Recipients will be selected based on application documents.

ADDITIONAL MERIT-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS

Additional Merit-Based Scholarships: These one-time $1,000 scholarships will be applied to tuition.

• Community Service Scholarship: For students who are involved in and intend to continue with community service within their school and/or parish. Examples include serving as an altar server, or being actively involved in their local school/ parish.

• STEM Scholarship: For students who have an appreciation and aptitude for science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.

• BMHS Legacy Scholarship: For students who have a parent or grandparent who is a BMHS alumnus.

• Visual & Performing Arts Scholarship: For students who are currently involved in and intend to continue to be involved in Music, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, and/or Theatre.

• Character: Must be involved in community service

• Discipline: Conduct and attendance must be exemplary

• School Involvement: Must be involved in extracurricular activities specific to the theme of the merit-based scholarship being applied for

There is no application for the merit-based scholarships and all recipients will be selected based on application documents.

*Eligible applicants will only be considered for ONE of the above Merit-Scholarships. There are no athletic scholarships are available.
