Iza Tkaczyk Le tue composizioni floreali sono molto interessanti, come è nata la tua idea creativa?

Tutto è nato prima che scoprissi i fiori e che il mondo delle piante mi prendesse completamente, mi sono laureata all’Accademia di Belle Arti, sono architetto d’interni.

Cinque anni di studi

artistici mi hanno aiutato molto nel lavoro di fiorista.

Ciò che amo di più del lavorare con la materia vegetale è che non si può mai essere sicuri di nulla. La natura continua a sorprenderci.

Your floral arrangements are very special and interesting, how did your creative idea start?

I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and I am an interior architect. That was before I discovered floristry and before the world of plants arrested me completely.

The five years of artistic

studies helped me greatly in the work of a florist.

What I love most about working with plant material is that you can never be sure of anything. Nature keeps surprising us.

My works are a reflection of my current emotions. I travel a lot, meet a lot of great

Ad essere onesti non ci ho mai pensato.

Who are you / where do you live / what do you do ?

I’m born in 1961, I live and work in Brussels.

After graduating from the Graphic Research School (ERG) in Brussels, I’ve explored painting for 10 years while working in graphic design and illustration.

Nature has always been a recurring theme for me, particularly flora.

After exhibiting several times in Belgium, I decided to abandon painting to turn to digital photography.

Taking pictures, scanning pieces of nature, I constantly play with textures and colours, transforming them, mixing them, in order to give shape to a fictional nature, dense and flamboyant at the same time.

If you were an adjective or a word would you be?

Vanishing.

I’ve chosen that word because I doubt that only one word or adjective can be enough to describe someone. « Vanishing » is perfect to say how mysterious people can be.

And it’s also, in my opinion, what happens when an artist is at work.

We disappear from here to reappear somewhere else.

What makes you happy in doing this?

I recently read a Diane Arbus quote saying “I’ve never taken the photograph I intended to take”, and it made echo with me.

la ricetta del Masala chai, il tè speziato più famoso

di tutta l’India.

Le spezie sono cardamomo, cannella, chiodi di garofano, zenzero, pepe, noce moscata e vanno macinate fresche.

Fate bollire in mezza tazza d’acqua le spezie macinate, aggiungere il tè nero del tipo Assam, sobbollire 1 minuto e infine aggiungere una tazza di latte intero molto zuccherato, quindi portare a bollore per un minuto ancora e filtrare.

Le spezie aggiungono calore al sapore del tè nero e sarà perfetto anche per i mesi invernali.

Jodhpur la città blu La città blu, così chiamata poichè nel centro storico sono molte le case colorate di azzurro, un azzurro/blu molto intenso. I colori contraddistinguono non solo le città, ma sono uniti alle caste e il blu è accostato a quella dei bramini, la casta più alta nella gerarchia indiana.

In India i colori sono molto accesi e vanno dalle profonde tonalità dei rossi e dei blu, all’arancione brillante e al verde rinfrescante, fino al tradizionale color zafferano e al rosa intenso per le donne sposate.

Quali arrivano dal paese dei Maharajah ?

Al genere Kalanchoe appartengono più di un centinaio di succulente che possiamo trovare nelle aree tropicali, dal Sud Africa all’Est dell’Asia. Una di loro, la Kalanchoe laciniata, è nativa del’India dove è conosciuta come “Parnabija”. Le sue foglie sono state usate nei secoli per le loro proprietà diuretiche, astringenti ed emostatiche.

Quali sono le cure in questo periodo ?

Poiché vengono da un’area tropicale, queste piante sono sensibili al freddo. L’Euphorbia mayuranathanii necessita di un minimo di 12/14°C. Un riparo asciutto e luminoso sarà necessario affinché la pianta possa avere un buon riposo invernale. Come tutte le piante grasse, non va bagnata da novembre a febbraio/marzo.

Quando tornerà la primavera, e la pianta ricomincerà a vegetare sarà possibile bagnarla abbondantemente alternando le irrigazioni con periodi di asciutto.

L’Euphorbia mayuranathanii proviene dall’India e ha conquistato il mondo con la sua bellezza. La forma di albero molto ramificato porta un tocco d’esotico nelle nostre case.

Dahl di lenticchie rosse Ingredienti per quattro persone 500 grammi di lenticchie rosse decorticate 4 cucchiai di olio extravergine d’oliva oppure di sesamo un pezzetto di zenzero fresco 2 cucchiaini di curcuma 2 cucchiaini di curry una carota un pezzetto di cipolla un pezzetto di sedano una manciata di coriandolo fresco 1 litro di brodo vegetale sale pepe fettine di limone per servire Tritare la carota, la cipolla e il sedano

versarli nella casseruola insieme all’olio, aggiungere poco zenzero grattugiato e lasciare ammorbidire dolcemente per qualche minuto.

Aggiungere le lenticchie precedentemente sciacquate sotto l’acqua corrente e il brodo ben caldo.

Unire la curcuma, il curry e il pepe.

Cuocere per circa 25-30 minuti, il brodo si assorbirà quasi tutto e le lenticchie dovranno risultare tenere.

Regolare di sale e pepe.

Servire con fettine di limone e foglie di coriandolo fresco.

Ghirlanda di bacche Ecco una ghirlanda che si veste con i colori più accesi dell’autunno, un ‘Total Orange’ dove le bacche di Piracanta e le gerbere sono le protagoniste assolute.

E’ possibile acquistare le gerbere dal fiorista, mentre l’unico modo per procurarsi la Piracanta è quello di coltivarsela in giardino o sul terrazzo, è una sempreverde che cresce velocemente e regala in questa stagione un’esplosione di colore.

Se amate la tonalità arancio, sceglietela nella varietà Pyracantha ‘Orange Glow’.

Per chi invece non ha la possibilità di coltivarla o farsela donare da amici, fate come me, ho atteso la potatura degli arbusti comunali e me la son fatta regalare, è infatti una pianta spesso utilizzata nei contesti verdi urbani.

Cosa occorre: – Rami carichi di bacche di Pyracantha ‘Orange Glow’

– Base di Clematis vitalba (come preparata qui) – Fil di ferro da fiorista Sulla solita base di Clematis vitalba intrecciata, legate il capo della spoletta di fil di ferro alla base della ghirlanda e fissate man mano i rametti di piracanta alternandoli alle gerbere che avrete precedentemente gambato.

Chittorgarh La città di Chittorgarh ospita il famoso Forte di Chittor, il bellissimo sito è patrimonio dell’UNESCO. Era la capitale della regione Mewar, la fortezza è situata su una alta collina, 300 metri, dove all’interno del complesso ci sono parecchi palazzi storici, sette porte di accesso, templi e due importanti torri commemorative.

Queste rovine monumentali furono luogo di tre assedi importanti tra gli anni 1300 e 1500 da parte di invasori musulmani.

I governanti combatterono ferocemente per mantenere la loro indipendenza, tra spargimenti di sangue e

invidia si fecero onore, è infatti simbolo della cavalleria e dell’orgoglio dei Rajput.

Il sito che copre un’area di 280 ettari visto dall’alto ha la forma di un pesce, con una circonferenza di 13 km, è circondato da un alto muro perimetrale di roccia e oltre il quale un pendio di 45° lo rende praticamente inespugnabile.

Il forte all’epoca vantava ben 84 corpi idrici, oggi ne rimangono solo 22 e si presentano sotto forma di stagni, pozzi e pozzetti e sono alimentati dalle precipitazioni dell’acqua piovana e da quella sorgiva.

Chand Baori I pozzi a gradini sono una antica tipologia molto particolare di pozzi per la raccolta delle acque che si trova frequentemente nell’India occidentale (Rajasthan) ed in parte del Pakistan e sono costruiti come pozzi a cielo aperto a forma di piramide rovesciata per la raccolta delle precipitazioni monsoniche.

I pozzi più antichi sono circa del 400 DC, ma la realizzazione dei circa tremila che si stima siano stati costruiti, arriva fino al XVI secolo inoltrato.

Successivamente, con la dominazione inglese, vennero poco alla volta soppiantati per

l’approvvigionamento idrico, viste le problematiche legate all’igiene, sostituiti da un più moderno sistema di distribuzione dell’acqua a cui tutti noi oggi siamo abituati.

La tipologia nasce inizialmente per esigenze funzionali, ovvero la necessità di avere un metodo per immagazzinare l’acqua in regioni prevalentemente aride e con una frequenza delle precipitazioni stagionale (monsoni) che alterna momenti di forte abbondanza con altri prolungati di forte scarsità.

Con una simile situazione ambientale e vista l’importanza

Il Chand baori (baori = pozzo) si trova nel villaggio di Abhaneri che si trova sulla strada che da Jaipur porta ad Agra ed è considerato uno dei più belli del Rajasthan.

Costruito da Re Chanda intorno al VIII-IX secolo fu costruito nelle prossimità del tempio di Harshat Mata.

La costruzione vicino ad un tempio non è casuale, infatti come spesso succedeva la posizione era dettata oltre che da esigenze ambientali e funzionali anche da quelle religiose, infatti tali pozzi erano utilizzati per le abluzioni preliminari alla preghiera nei templi.

Costruito su 13 piani per quasi 30 metri di profondità e circa 3500 gradini è circondato da gradinate per la discesa

sul fondo su tre lati mentre il quarto vanta un padiglione a tre piani con bellissime finestre intagliate, gallerie appoggiate su pilastri e due balconi sporgenti ornati da belle sculture.
