We offer a range of programme levels, with full-time and part-time options, allowing you to choose the perfect route for your lifestyle and goals.

Level 3

Access to Higher Education

These programmes are designed for people aged 19 or over who want to return to education and prepare students to study at degree-level.

Level 4

Higher Education Certificate

Equivalent to the first year of a full-time bachelor’s degree (Level 4), these programmes give you the chance to explore a subject with the option to take a break before returning to the next stage of study, should you wish.

Higher National Certificate (HNC)

When studied full-time, these are one-year programmes. These practical courses can prepare you for work or to progress to higher level study, such as a Higher National Diploma (HND).

Level 5

Foundation Degrees

These two-year degree programmes allow graduates to progress onto further study to achieve a BA or BSc degree. They are flexible, technical and employment related degrees that incorporate work-based study.

Higher National Diploma (HND)

These are one-year programmes when studied full-time. They are ideal for those who prefer to learn through practical sessions. They can provide a direct route into your profession or allow you to progress to higher study.

Level 6

Bachelor’s Degrees

A traditional three-year degree programme. Here at UCBB, we offer these as Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Bachelor of Arts (BA). Where you see (Hons) you will graduate with honours, provided you meet the required academic standard needed.

These programmes allow you to top up your Level 5 qualification to achieve a full bachelor’s degree in one year full-time or two years part-time. You may wish to continue in the same subject or, in some cases, you can switch to another subject.
