Your Application

Everyone learns in a different way, which is why we use a range of teaching methods to make sure that you have built the skills you need to succeed in your chosen industry by the time that you graduate.

Our experienced, supportive and motivated staff have both academic and industrial experience. A range of guest speakers will further supplement your learning and ensure that you’re fully prepared to start your career.

For all modules, theory-based lectures are where you will receive the core content of your programme, gaining essential knowledge to underpin your studies. To cement this learning, you will also take part in group seminars and tutorials. Finally, the all-important, hands-on practical sessions will reinforce concepts and develop the skills that support the theory.

You will be encouraged to take part in extra-curricular activities and/or work experience to enhance your learning. As well as vocational learning on campus, mandatory work experience is integrated into some of our programmes. As a UCBB student, you will also have access to an online Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), which will enhance and facilitate teaching and independent learning on all programmes. Our student-centred approach will help you to develop the independent learning skills that are essential in the workplace, beyond your time at UCBB.

Contact Time and Independent Study

You will have tutor led contact time each week, which will include lectures, seminars, on campus work experience, practical sessions and tutorials. You are also expected to carry out a significant amount of independent study in addition to contact time. You can choose to do this from home or on campus.
