Location: TBA Activity Fee: $68.90 Sat, January 20, 2018 10am to 4pm Ages: 12 and up 2608 Saul, Donaleen

Location: Gallery at Artisan Square By Donation Sun, September 3, 2017 4pm to 6pm Ages: All Ages 2643 de Cordova, Denise

If you’re a lapsed, stuck, frustrated, distracted, bored, haunted and/or hungry writer who feels called to a word-ly adventure... If you long to bypass the run-of-the-mill mind, and the restrictive habits and assumptions that are its dismal spawn... If you ache to access stories, characters, metaphors, images, conversations, observations, perceptions, etc. that dwell in uncharted domains of soul and psyche...

Join us for this community talk by eminent London-based sculptor Denise de Cordova. Denise will speak on her artworks and extensive career in clay sculpture. Describing herself as “a kind of Magic Realist with Wilderness fantasies”, her works reflect themes of nature, identity, myth and folklore. Denise is a Henry Moore Foundation Fellow, a Stanley Picker Fellow, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Art, where she now teaches. She was elected as a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors in 2015. This is a mustattend learning event for sculptors, potters, artists, and art enthusiasts of all types.

Then this facilitated, blockbusting one-day writing marathon is for you. Bring a generous notebook, a willing pen, and a courageous heart. Space is limited. If you’re serious about making headway with your writing, don’t delay. Facilitator Donaleen Saul is Canada’s first certified creativity coach, based in Victoria, BC, Canada. A veteran of the vagaries of the writer’s path, “Write into the Belly of the Whale” is the workshop Donaleen has always wanted to attend.
