Abdala amplía su impacto contra la COVID-19, inoculándose en gestantes, madres lactantes y personas alérgicas al Timerosal, sustancia que se integraba a la formulación inicial de esta vacuna. Recientemente comenzó en Cuba el proceso de inmunización a embarazadas de 19 años en adelante, que se encuentran en el segundo y tercer trimestre de gestación, así como a las mujeres que se encuentran lactando, paso significativo hacia la protección de este grupo vulnerable y priorizado dentro del sistema de salud cubano. Para las personas alérgicas al Timerosal, la inmunización iniciará en diciembre, y la producción de Abdala, sin este componente, tendrá su arrancada en el presente mes.
Abdala, the first Cuban vaccine expands its impact
Abdala expands its impact against COVID-19, inoculating gestating women, nursing mothers and people allergic to Thimerosal, a substance that was integrated to the initial formulation of the vaccine. Recently, the immunization process began in Cuba for pregnant women 19 years of age and older, who are in the second and third trimester of gestation, as well as for women who are breastfeeding, a significant step towards the protection of this vulnerable and prioritized group within the Cuban health system. For people allergic to Thimerosal, immunization will begin in December, and the production of Abdala, without this component, will start this month.
Los diagnosticadores Umelisa SARSCOV-2 antígeno, desarrollados por el Centro de Inmunoensayo de Cuba fueron aprobados por el Centro para el Control Estatal de Medicamentos, Equipos y Dispositivos Médicos y son una nueva contribución a la soberanía de la isla en la batalla contra la COVID-19. Este medio permite detectar de forma temprana la COVID-19 y el kit y las materias primas que se utilizaron para su producción son cien por ciento cubanos. Este producto de la biotecnología cubana identifica en cuatro horas la presencia del virus e integra ya los protocolos sanitarios y de detección del SARS-CoV-2 en la mayor de las Antillas.
The Umelisa SARS-COV-2 antigen test kits, developed by the Cuban Center for Immunoassay (CEI), were approved by the Center for State Control of Medicines, Equipment and Medical Devices, and are a new contribution to the island's sovereignty in the battle against COVID-19. This test kit allows early detection of COVID-19 and the raw materials used for its production are one hundred percent Cuban.
This Cuban biotechnology product identifies the presence of the virus in four hours and is already part of the sanitary and SARS-CoV-2 detection protocols in the largest of the Antilles.
DE GRAN BENEFICIO ESQUEMA DE VACUNACIÓN SOBERANA 02 + SOBERANA PLUS
El candidato vacunal cubano Soberana 02, en un esquema de vacunación que combina dos de sus dosis con una de Soberana Plus, alcanza un 91,2 por ciento de eficacia, sobrepasando las exigencias de la Organización Mundial de la Salud. Además, el esquema demostró una eficacia del 100 por ciento para prevenir la enfermedad sistémica severa e igual porcentaje para la prevención del fallecimiento en los vacunados. Soberana Plus constituye un refuerzo importante para los convalecientes en su combinación con Soberana 02, por lo que este esquema de vacunación es de extraordinario beneficio para la prevención de la COVID-19.
