MJCC ANNUAL REPORT 2024-2025

MISSION

The MJCC is an inclusive and welcoming hub for a diverse community, fostering lifelong wellness and providing dynamic social and educational experiences, grounded in Jewish values and culture.

VISION

The Mittleman Jewish Community Center envisions a thriving, diverse Jewish community, and embraces a central role in welcoming all to gather, connect, learn, and celebrate life.

Dear Friends of the MJCC,

We are pleased to present our Annual Report for the 2024-25 fiscal year. This past year was a tremendous success. Continuing to implement our strategic plan allowed us to offer new programs, engage in new partnerships, and launch new initiatives. Our ability to serve the community is dependent upon the generous philanthropic support of our members and the extended community. We are deeply grateful to each of our donors.

The annual cycle of the calendar is fundamental to Jewish life, history, and traditions, and the MJCC’s annual calendar allows us to engage our community in innovative ways. Some of our celebrations have become MJCC traditions, like Pizza in the Sukkah and a Tu B’shevat planting party. Others were new this past year, like the monthly community Shabbat dinners and a Lag B’Omer bonfire party.

The J also presents authors, concerts, films, and exhibitions that build community through year-round cultural engagement. Our educational, cultural, and arts events have expanded with new partnerships, such as our collaboration with the American Technion Society. We are proud of our many ongoing partnerships with local Jewish and secular cultural organizations.

Our strategic focus on young families is visible in every season. These include our weekly PJ Library programs, Jewish Summer Day Camp, “Family Schmooze” series, and a growing array of afterschool and recreational offerings for youth and families.

Thousands of members build community through shared participation in sports, fitness, and wellness programs. Our aquatics, fitness, and sports + recreation departments expanded their offerings in the past year to meet the changing needs of our community.

While membership, programs, and rental revenue sustain much of our work, philanthropy fuels the rest. Support from the community is critical to purchase equipment, update facilities, offer financial assistance, and launch new initiatives. We are especially grateful to our sponsors and the members of our Friends of the Center Society. We also extend a special thanks to the members of the MJCC Legacy Society. Legacy gifts ensure that the MJCC will continue to serve our community for generations to come.

Thank you for your strong commitment to the MJCC. Together, we will continue to strengthen our community — season after season, year after year.

fall A New Beginning

The High Holidays in early autumn usher in the Jewish New Year. The fall sees the start of new classes, new friendships, and new programs. There is a buzz of excitement as families join together at the J in September to celebrate and begin their back-to-school and work out routines after a fun-filled summer. Our community comes together in October to build the community Sukkah, and the J is bustling with Hanukkah programs and the scent of latkes during December. The MJCC is the place to celebrate alongside friends and family, especially as the nights grow shorter.

Our Sportsplex provides a dry, indoor space large enough to accommodate soccer games. Our films, lectures, concerts, and holiday programs provide educational and entertaining activities for all ages.

Our MJCC Volunteer Corps gathers to revitalize our campus with Earth Day projects that beautify our planters and prepare them for summer.

Indoor activities continue, too, with arts and crafts, educational lectures, and intergenerational events celebrating the renewed spirit of the season.

Drop-in Childcare is available throughout the summer months so parents can stay on top of their workout routines.
