MJCC

Welcome

The Mittleman Jewish Community Center has been a vital part of the community for over 100 years, providing a gathering place for the local Jewish community, and is open to people of all faiths and backgrounds. The MJCC offers a variety of cultural, arts, and recreational programming for all ages. In addition, members and guests have access to our fitness facilities, which include pools, workout rooms, racquetball courts, gymnasium, and much more.

As the living room of the community, the MJCC is a warm and welcoming destination for everyone.

Our Mission

The MJCC is an inclusive and welcoming hub for a diverse community, fostering lifelong wellness and providing dynamic social and educational experiences, grounded in Jewish values and culture.

From Our Executive Director

Dear MJCC Community,

We’re excited to share our new “Guide to the J,” which lists our programs that are held regularly. It’s accompanied by a quarterly calendar of our seasonal events and offerings.

We continue to provide the wide range of opportunities that you’ve come to expect from the J! We offer over 60 group exercise classes each week, personal training, swim lessons, swim teams, soccer leagues, basketball, pickleball, racquetball, gym hockey, and lacrosse. Young families love our indoor playground, drop-in childcare, and Club J programs, along with PJ Library, Family Schmooze, and vacation and summer camps.

As always, our cultural, arts, and education programs put the “J” in MJCC, and we’re offering a growing range of lectures, concerts, films, exhibitions, and holiday celebrations this year. We hope to see you at the J!

Our Campus

The Schnitzer Family Campus is home to the Mittleman Jewish Community Center, the kosher Cafe at the J, Rachel’s Well - Community Mikvah, Move Strong Physical Therapy, and Portland Jewish Academy, founded in 1961. Support + Legacy

The MJCC is a nonprofit organization that exists and thrives due to the generous support of the community. Membership, program fees and rentals account for approximately 91% of our annual revenue with donations making up the remainder. Contributions fund capital improvements, additional programming, and scholarships for memberships and day camp so that nobody is turned away for inability to pay.

Numerous Ways to Give

Each year, our annual campaign provides an opportunity for members to support the MJCC with gifts, large and small. We urge you to consider a gift.

We also encourage you to join our Legacy Society by including a bequest to the MJCC in your estate plan. Options to sponsor special events are also available.
