She released her first single in 2014, as well as an EP shortly after. In 2015, her debut album was released, and it earned her a chart-topping single, “Love Me Like You Mean It.” She is known for her blend of country and pop, as well as her reflective and intimate lyrics. She has been inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry and has continued to release successful albums.

His fourth album quickly reached the top of the Billboard 200, and its lead single entered multiple charts simultaneously and earned him a Grammy Award. Johnny Cash was an American singer, songwriter, and musician from Arkansas. He rose to fame in the 1950s in Memphis, where rockabilly was taking over. He is very well known for his sorrowful lyrics, deep and distinct voice, and rebellious yet modest demeanor. His music was revolutionary in that it encompassed elements of country, rock, rockabilly, blues, folk, and gospel. He was also known for playing free concerts at prisons around the country and having deep sympathy and respect for any kind of marginalized people. He was married to fellow country singer June Carter, who he ended up creating music and performing with for the rest of his life.
He served four years in the Air Force before becoming successful in music.
He had his own TV show from 1969 to 1971, The Johnny Cash Show.
He was inducted into the Country, Rock ’n’ Roll, and Gospel Halls of Fame.

Patsy Cline was an American singer from Virginia. She is known for being one of the first country artists to successfully cross over into the pop genre, as well as one of the most influential singers of the 20th century. She began performing on a local radio station when she was 15, then became a part of a local band, which led to her performing on TV broadcasts. In 1954, she signed her first recording contract, but it wasn’t until she moved to Nashville and signed with Decca Records that her career really took off. She had numerous charting singles in country and pop charts, but in 1963, she tragically died in a plane crash, cutting her burgeoning music career short. She is remembered as one of the first women in country to sell albums and headline shows.
Her family had moved 19 times by the time she was 15 years old.
She was born with the name Virginia Patterson Hensley.
She was posthumously inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1973.

Luke Combs is a country singer and songwriter from North Carolina. He grew up singing in church and school and played his first show during college at a café. He set the record for the longest time an album by a male artist was at the top of the Top Country Albums chart.

Soon after, in 1984, he launched his solo career, recording for RCA Records Nashville until 1988 with little commercial success. The height of his career came in the early 1990s with his breakthrough album When I Call Your Name, and every album he released throughout the decade was certified platinum or higher. He is known for his tenor singing voice, lead guitar skills, versatility, and ability to play multiple stringed instruments.
He has won 20 Grammy Awards.

He is credited with being a pioneer of the Bakersfield sound and being a “poet of the common man.” He started teaching himself to play guitar when he was 12 but got involved in petty crimes the next year. He spent time in and out of detention centers and, eventually, jail. Then he attended a free prison concert by Johnny Cash, which inspired him to pursue music. He began his music career in the 1960s and released numerous hit songs and albums. He is regarded as one of the most impactful country musicians of all time.
He had 38 number one hits on US country charts.
He received a Kennedy Center Honor for his contributions to American culture.
He was officially pardoned in 1972 for his past crimes.

Many of her songs topped the country and pop charts, solidifying her as a huge mainstream success.

Jason Bradley DeFord, professionally known as Jelly Roll, is a singer, rapper, and songwriter from Nashville. He is known for blending hip hop, country, and rock after starting his career with underground hip hop. He found mainstream success in 2022 with his singles “Son of a Sinner” and “Need a Favor.” He won the 2023 Country Music Award for New Artist of the Year and in 2025 was named Country Artist of the Year at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.

Waylon Jennings was an American singer, songwriter, and musician from Texas. He is known for being a pioneer of the outlaw movement of country music. He started playing guitar when he was only eight years old and performing at 14. He dropped out of high school at 16 to pursue music and worked for multiple radio stations. He eventually formed a band called The Waylors, who became the house band for a club in Arizona. He recorded music for two different independent labels until signing with RCA Victor and finding success in 1965. He then released multiple acclaimed and beloved albums during the late 1960s and throughout the 1970s. He later became a part of the supergroup the Highwaymen and released three albums with them.
The Academy of Country Music posthumously awarded him with the Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award in 2007.
He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001.
He gave up his seat on the infamous flight that took Buddy Holly’s life.

George Jones was a country singer, songwriter, and musician from Texas. He was known for his distinct and expressive vocal performances and is recognized as one of the most influential country musicians of all time. He served in the US Marine Corps before pursuing music and releasing his first record, Grand Ole Opry’s New Star, in 1956. He was married to fellow country musician Tammy Wynette, and they released many songs together. He had a lull in his career starting in the mid-1960s, but he made a comeback in 1980 and remained successful up until his death in 2013.

He released his debut single in 1993 and topped the charts, but his breakthrough single in 1999 went even further to become the number one country song of 2000. His first four albums throughout the 1990s were certified gold or higher, and his next three were certified four times platinum. He continued to release successful albums and singles until he was diagnosed with cancer, which ultimately led to his death in 2024.
He founded a record label called Show Dog Nashville in 2005. He had 20 number one hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame only a few hours before his death.

Miranda Lambert is an American country singer from Texas. She began her career by releasing her debut album independently in 2001. She then participated in the singing competition TV show Nashville Star, where she placed third. Having signed her first record deal, she released her second album in 2005. She had numerous charting singles from her second and third albums. She went on to win a Grammy Award for Best Country Album in 2014 and in 2021, as well as win the American Country Music Award for Female Vocalist of the Year for the ninth time in a row, making her the most-awarded in the category.
She was the first cover girl of the magazine Country Living.
She owns a farm that is more than 400 acres large.

Her life experiences, one of which was growing up in a rural coal-mining community in Appalachia, were the subject of many of her songs. She was renowned for her honest depictions of women’s lives. She started playing music in the 1950s and released her first single in 1960. She signed with Decca Records in the early 1960s, which launched her into fame. She went on to become a regular performer at the Grand Ole Opry and release gold-certified albums.
She entered her first marriage when she was only 15.
She was the second of eight children.
The Country Music Association named her Female Vocalist of the year in 1967, 1972, and 1973.

Barbara Mandrell is an American singer, musician, and actress. She also hosted a TV variety show called Barbara Mandrell and the Mandrell Sisters from 1980 to 1982. She published an autobiography in 1990, Get to the Heart: My Story, and ultimately retired from music in 1997.
She started playing many different instruments early in her childhood.

She released albums and singles without success until the early 1980s, when she finally released her breakthrough album, My Kind of Country, in 1984. Since then, she has solidified herself as an icon of country.
She has had 25 songs hit the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. She won Female Vocalist of the Year four years in a row. Her own sitcom, called Reba, ran for six years.

His second album, Not a Moment Too Soon, was also the best-selling country album of 1994. He headlined the mostsuccessful country music tour of the year in 1996 with Faith Hill as his supporting act. He has since received numerous country music awards and three Grammy Awards.

Willie Nelson is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and activist. He is known for being a leader in the outlaw country movement beginning in the late 1960s. He wrote his first song when he was seven and joined his first band at 10. He eventually worked as a DJ at several radio stations, along with singing and songwriting, in the 1950s. He then moved to Nashville in 1960 and recorded his first album, leading him to sign with RCA Victor and join the Grand Ole Opry. Growing tired of the corporate environment of the music scene in Nashville, he moved to Texas and turned his focus to the outlaw country movement in the early 1970s. During this time, he achieved great success and released several iconic albums. He went on to be a part of the Highwaymen, a supergroup of country artists, in the 1980s. Nelson has continued to release successful music and perform live.
He has played the same guitar since 1969, and he named it “Trigger.”

Buck Owens was an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He started playing guitar and mandolin during his youth and developed an appreciation of music from his mother, who played piano. In the 1950s, he played guitar for other musicians until he formed his own band, The Buckaroos, in 1956. He is credited with popularizing the Bakersfield sound in California, which distinguished itself from the country music coming out of Nashville at the time. He also co-hosted a TV variety show called Hee Haw from 1969 to 1986.
His real name was Alvis, but he got the nickname Buck at age three.
He left school in ninth grade to pursue music and help his father farm.
A 1988 duet with Dwight Yoakam earned him his first chart-topping single in 16 years.
