TWO YEAR OLD & 18 MONTH OLD BULLS SIRED BY LEADING AI SIRES Angus, Red Angus, Sim Angus, Maine Angus, Charolais & Hereford Cross

We want to say thank you to everyone who has impacted our family and our cattle operation. Since the beginning, there have been countless people who have touched our lives and for that we are grateful. Without the blessing of our family, friends, and customers none of this would be a reality. As cattle producers, we have a great responsibility to manage the land and tend to the livestock. As you know it is a task that can be both rewarding and overwhelming at times. The collection of a sale offering is a result of years of hard work and the fruits of our labor. We’ve tried to listen to our valued customers over the years. One of the overriding requests has been for more age advantage bulls. This year all the bulls meet that request. We take great pride in the presentation of these bulls. The bulls are toned up, hard muscled, and ready to go to the pasture. They have been developed on wheat pasture, grass in the summer, and limit fed grain ration since December. We believe this bull development program will offer bulls with greater longevity and structural soundness for our customers. It is our pleasure to welcome you to the 19th Annual Bixler Ranch Bull Sale!

Longevity & Athleticism

Our customers consistently tell us our bulls hold up better after the sale and through the summer breeding months, and last longer than previous bulls they have bought. While we believe this is partially a result of decades of extensive AI & ET programs breeding and culling for animals that work for cattlemen, that is only part of the equation. Our bulls are developed in large grass pastures and never in a smaller area than 60 acres until right before the sale. Rather than being in a feedlot setting, these bulls consistently travel for feed and water while building muscle tone and athleticism; just like they would when they are turned out to go to work for you. We feel strongly that if these bulls are not over-conditioned, this provides value for you as the buyer to have a bull that is ready to work right away and has the structural integrity to last you many years to come.

Spring 2020 BW: 85 Sire EPD: CED BW WW YW 16 -.2 45 79

Lot 1 has big feet, massive bone work, a neck that just keeps going, and elite muscle shape. He is a full sib to one of the top bulls from our 2020 sale purchased by McMurphy Farms and another brother currently being used at Bixler Ranch that is one of the most impressive mature bulls you will see. Donor 42B has a long record of producing elite bulls in our sale starting with her first son purchased by Trevor Baird in 2017 that is still breeding cows. We believe Lot 1 will continue that tradition with a more stylish look than many of his brothers.

If you like mass and substance in your cattle with impeccable structure, this is your bull. Lot 2 might be the most phenotypically impressive Red Angus bull we have ever raised. He is dense, rugged, and huge bodied with the pieces that make him capable of working in a diverse set of scenarios. This is a unique opportunity to own a bull that can take your breeding program to the next level with 1 calf crop. Many bulls have a single trait that is hard to replicate. Lot 2 combines multiple characteristics that are not seen often in the Red Angus breed.

Lot 5 tag 432 RED Angus Sire: KJHT POWER TAKE OFF Dam: 432 (Evolution) 10

Spring 2020 BW: 86 Sire EPD: CED BW WW YW 16 -.2 45 79

Sometimes life isn't always fair. Luckily for you, this bull is going to breed just like he would have even if some of the other bulls in this sale didn't like to fight and ride him. This bull is not a fighter, but he does get singled out by the other bulls for some reason. 90 days ago he might have been the highlight of the sale. If you like Lot 1 and 2, keep bidding on this bull until you own him. He's a more massive version of his half brother, 432, that was one of the high selling Red Angus in our 2021 sale.

Spring 2020 BW: 72 Sire EPD: CED BW WW YW 17 -4.7 64 104

Calving ease out of a first calf heifer that has become a donor. Full sibs to this bull's mother have sold in past sales and his granddam, Reba, raised many top bulls. Lot 6 is a bull that not only offers calving ease in a valuable genetic package, he comes with a little extra performance compared to some of the other heifer safe options. C al vi ng Ease

Spring 2020 BW: 81 Sire EPD: CED BW WW YW 16 -.2 45 79

A smoother built, lighter birth weight option than some of the other PTO brothers. His 132 x Evolution mother was a result of an ET mating that offers extra maternal value for those breeders looking to retain heifers. We can't picture every bull, but we probably should have pictured this one. Look him up on sale day and you will like what you see.

Spring 2020 BW: 76 Sire EPD: CED BW WW YW 11 0.4 62 98

Lot 8 is the squarest, most expressive muscled L28 son in the sale. His mother has always been one of the better looking Red Angus cows we own. He has tremendous structural soundness like his sire. He doesn't have the size and masculinity to stand out initially when you walk in the pen, but he quickly rises toward the top due to his fault free build.

The L28 cattle grow on you the more you study them as they just don't have many holes. The mother of Lot 9 is a full sib to 132 and still producing at 11 years old. Lot 9 is a good option if you don't need a heifer bull, but still want to watch your birth weights without giving up too much performance,

Whistle fronted, heifer safe, but still has a little lead in his britches. He may not grab your attention initially like some of the other calving ease options, but keep your eye on this bull. 3/4 Red Angus bull sired by one of our best, 101, from the 2019 sale. Genetically, this bull offers some of our favorites from the breed. 101 was a Taurus x Mulberry Donor 120X and Cita is arguably the most impactful donor in the entire Red Angus breed. Lot 11's mother is an attractive red blazed faced female that you will also find in the pedigree of Lot 14. If your cattle are weighed up and sold by the pound but you still like them to look impressive as well, you found your bull.

Lo t 12 Spring 2020 BW: 86 Sire EPD: CED BW WW YW 16 -.2 45 79

Selling 1/2 semen interest and 1/2 possession. Buyer's choice between spring or fall breeding possession. Lot 12 has the right pieces to make a long lasting impact on the Red Angus breed. He arguably has as good of foot and structural integrity of any bull we have seen. This bull is ultra smooth in his muscle pattern, square hipped, and stout topped with great spring of rib. He has a tremendous hair coat that you don't find in the Red Angus breed and the highly sought after dark red color. We believe Lot 12 has the potential to be utilized across many breeds of cattle. Where this bull's value becomes unique is that when mated to Purebred Red Angus cows, his offspring will be 7/8 and show as Purebred. Pay attention here!

Give this bull a little time to mature and we think you'll be glad you were able to buy him when you did.

Lot 15 combines traits that make him one of the best bulls we have ever sold. Turning Point was first introduced last year when we decided to offer a son as a yearling and you will continue to see his genetic potency to produce stout, deep bodied, big footed Simmental cattle with a thick hair coat. We utilized a couple bulls to clean up cows as yearlings and this was 1 of them. Due to concerns of him getting injured when being co-mingled back with the other bulls we decided to leave him with the cows which resulted in him coming into the sale in his working clothes but he looks impressive! His mother produced the high selling bull last year and a daughter that won a division at nearly every national show. Go ahead and put a 2nd wrap on this one. You don't want him to get away!

They don't build them much better than this bull. Most people love Simmental cattle with a white face, but when they look like this we'll take them any color you can think of. His mother is a result of 4 generations of ET matings and Bankroll is as hot of a sire as there has been in the past few years. Don't forget that this is a fall born bull that hasn't even reached his peak and can already hold his own with the older bulls. Year after year, 134 continues to produce great built cattle like Lot 20. He is stout featured, easy keeping, and has wheels that could go all day. He does come with a "ranchy personality" so we would recommend he be sorted with other cattle rather than by himself.

The dam of Lot 21, 7428, was the reason we flushed her Northern Improvement mother. That flush generated the 710 bull who has raised some phenomenal offspring and a few who have made our bull sale. This bull looks a little off because his ear is knocked down, but that won't affect him. We like the genetics in this mating.

fall 2020

Donor 120X has been producing some of our best Red Angus bulls and females for a long time. We decided to give her a chance to do the same with a red Simmental and she produced one of the most stylish, growthy bulls in the sale. This bull could use a little extra time to mature, but that is to your advantage. His lines are as good as any in the sale.

At 13 years of age, this bull's mother is still producing. The options on how you utilize this bull are endless, but the results should be consistent; top notch!

BW: 81

KB 52 has a pretty impressive sire group in this sale and he produced a red baldy just like we were hoping for on this mating. KB 52 is a full brother to one of the top bulls in our 2020 sale and you'll see why as you study his offspring.

We touted the granddam, Donor 0714, in last year's catalog as she could be traced back to multiple top bulls and she made her mark again here. Just take a look at the muscle shape and style of Lot 27. This bull will get nervous if he is by himself, but is not a problem when sorted in a group.

Perfect blaze faced Turning Point son that is heavy boned, square hipped, and deep sided. You'll appreciate that small amount of Maine that his mother brings with the increased hybrid vigor and weaning weights on your calves.

There is a significant amount of consistency behind this bull. He has 2 full sisters that are elite and his mother stamps them all with the style you see in this bull. Lot 31 will give your calf crop some growth and a look that will make it fun to go check the pasture to look at his offspring.

The stoutest Confidential son in the offering. This bull exemplifies what "Angus Plus" can do for your calf crop. He will pass on 1/8 Maine to his offspring and you won't notice it anywhere except on their weaning weights and in your bank account.

A Revival daughter stamped one of our favorite calving ease bulls last year that Byron Brock of Silverton, Texas purchased. Lot 38 is built similar in that he offers calving ease with the look and power that you don’t find in low birth weight bulls. He is sired by 702 which is the #1 Angus bull we have ever used in terms of consistently producing calves that are born unassisted out of purebred and crossbred heifers. You pick your top calving ease bull that sells thousands of units of semen and we'll take 702. We feel confident our percentage of unassisted births and live calves to wean will be hard to beat. Take a look at this bull's grandmother! His mother is a result of Donor 532's first calf out of OCC No Problems and is just a more moderate, Angus version of her mother. As a first calf heifer, 7532 produced Lot 39 and now it is your turn to write the next chapter of this impressive genetic line. This bull not only has multiple generations of calving ease in his pedigree, he has multiple generations of being the direct offspring of unassisted births out of first calf heifers. Buy him for his build, his genetic consistency, or whatever you would like. Just buy him! C al vi ng Ease Put your waders on because the calving ease waters are deep! I'm not sure you could build them any squarer or stouter and they still have been small at birth and born unassisted from a first calf heifer. A little chrome on the face of the calves out of your heifers is just going to make them that much more valuable! Calvin g Eas e

They can't all get pictured so look this bull up on sale day if you're in the market for a calving ease bull. He's moderate, big centered, and more than adequate muscled for a heifer bull. There is a deep offering of calving ease bulls this year, but Lot 44 holds his own with the best of them. C al vi ng Ease This bull takes after his sire in many ways. He gives you a great look from the side, good rib shape, and phenomenal wheels with a nice hair coat. Where he also takes after his sire is that he can get nervous when sorted by himself. As long as other cattle are nearby you can almost walk right up to him so we recommend this bull go to a place where the cattle are handled in groups.

This bull puts together so many pieces that the industry places a premium on. He has the performance if you're looking for stout cattle that can push the scales down. He has the genetics to make him a top candidate for raising replacement females and herd bulls. Even if you're just looking to add a little premium to your calf crop with baldy faces, this bull checks the box. Lot 46 should be a solid investment for his new owner.

This is the result of a very successful ET mating. Lot 47 has been hard to miss since he was a calf on his recip mother. He is the only bull calf of the mating with a group of very impressive full sisters. The 1 thing we would like to change about this bull is his nervous nature. We would recommend this bull going to a home that sorts their cattle in groups so he is not by himself.

When Lot 48 was a calf we said we needed to use him on our cows. Some of the other bulls have given him a hard time so we didn't picture him but his offspring will be the same regardless. He has a picturesque mother that goes back to OCC Legend. Someone is going to be a happy owner when his calf crop starts hitting the ground.

Lot 4 9 tag 502 Maine Angus fall 2020 BW: 84 Sire: Duello Icon 802F 3/8 Maine Dam: Donor 1335 (Panama Jack x Star power)

Donor 1335 has been a very good producer for us on a wide variety of matings. The Icon cattle are a little slower maturing but Lot 49 has the genetics. This bull could be a good fit for anyone that has been using Herefords to make black baldies as this bull should do the exact same thing.

Four Generations Strong Ray - 2nd generation Stan - 3rd generation

The Bixler Ranch was homesteaded in 1897 approximately 6 miles northwest of Waynoka. In 1925, George Bixler purchased his first registered Hereford cows driving them on horseback twenty miles from east of Dacoma. George's son, Ray, continued expanding the registered Hereford herd selling bulls throughout northwest Oklahoma. In 1978, Stan, Ray's son, brought the first black cows into the breeding program starting the use of European breeds to stay in stride with the trends of the cattle industry. Clark, Stan's youngest son, is leaving his mark by continuing the decades of progressive breeding to keep pace with the demands of the cattle industry.

We always have a few Hereford influenced bulls in the sale. None of them have compared to Lot 50 though. Sired by the Duff's Purebred bull, Ringo, and out of as impressive of a Made Right daughter as you could draw. Her mother is out of the Kroupa/Boysel Donor 26 whose offspring have generated a tremendous amount of revenue. The ways this bull could be utilized are endless and the only thing for certain is the money he's going to put in his new owner's pocket. Bid to own! Papa Smurf is an impressive Battle Cry son we raised that was sold with Skinner Cattle, Kris Black and then placed by good friend, Garrett Holder. That bull is doing a good job for us and we hear he's producing some top end cattle for his new owner. Red baldies are as hot as anything and this bull has a chance to make them for you. Remember that we used 2 bulls that we just pulled off our own cows. You just found the 2nd bull. Our southern buyers need to check out the hip, bone, and genetics behind this bull that will give you a hide color for a wide variety of breed options depending on the cows.

This is the last crop of KB 38 offspring we will have which is unfortunate based on the bulls he has produced in the sale the last 2 years. Lot 53 is out of a really easy keeping OCC Big Time x Hereford cow. There is no such thing as having too many females like his mother so mark this bull if you're interested in raising top end breeding stock.

Lot 54 If you don't like your bulls built like this, we must not be trying to raise the same type of cattle. When you think of building cattle that are functional and efficient in their environment, this is what comes to mind. Tremendous amounts of body volume in a structurally sound package that makes you think he's going to last for many seasons to come and keep himself in good fleshing condition on less resources. He has more than adequate muscle shape and expression while carrying a baldy face that should pass on to his offspring at a higher percentage than many bulls.

Some might argue that this bull increases the value of a calf crop more than any other bull in the sale. Reds are hot. Baldies have always been hot. This bull puts that all together while being safe to breed to your first calf heifers. Whether your females are red or black, this bull makes you money. C al vi ng Ease 6 months less maturity and a more moderate, soggy build than Lot 55, but he offers all of the same advantages. Having 1 red baldy calving ease bull of quality is hard to produce. There may only be 1 Purebred Charolais in the sale this year but it's hard to believe he wouldn't have been the best regardless of how many were offered. Lot 57 has been impressive since he was a calf on his donor mother, Serene. Our customers have been very happy with the offspring from similar Charolais genetics, but I don't know that we have ever offered a Purebred Charolais bull that is this phenotypically stylish. His mother is a stout hipped, sleek fronted, great profiling cow and we expect his offspring to carry those same traits.

The picture probably says enough but the story just makes it better. This cow has raised a calf that sold for a pretty good premium every year dating back to her first calf that sold as a yearling in our bull sale. She rang the bell on this mating 2 years in a row so we started flushing her. There is no doubt that this is a club calf bull suited for raising show cattle. What is unique is that he has a big time sister and a proven mother that make him a rare dual purpose club calf bull capable of producing great females. Notice his red and white half brother for anyone interested in producing those highly sought after red hided cattle. This bull looks really good but his breeding capabilities will outproduce himself. Donor 724 has quickly moved herself to the top end of our best producing females. Her first calf was a feature bull in last year's sale. Lot 59 is her 2nd calf and she produced our top steers last spring that have already been selected Grand Champion in numerous jackpots in their first few months of being shown. Tie hard and fast to this bull. You'll be glad you did!

Thank goodness there aren't many bulls left in the sale or your head would be spinning if you were looking for something that is heifer safe. 6009 is our 132 son that we clean up all of our colored heifers with. He's proven heifer safe on stout crossbred females as is demonstrated by Lot 62 being an unassisted, low birth weight result from a powerful Business Done Right first calf heifer. Multiple generations of low birth weight offspring from first calf heifers in his lineage but this bull is put together like a body builder. Those who like to have the first calves out of their heifers pay for the mother should bid here. C al vi ng Ease Lot 63 has all the athleticism you could want and a great look. Lot 64 was the first calf from an impressive Run For The Roses female that we began flushing right away. This calf always stood out among the offspring of the first calf heifers and we like how he has developed since then as well. When mated to Red Angus based cows, this bull should produce predominately solid red calves with a little extra power that brings a premium when you sell your calf crop.

The 517 cow is wide backed, square out of her hip, sharp fronted, and has a phenomenal hair coat. This mating to the 101 bull couldn't have worked much better. Lot 65 might work for the most diverse group of buyers as any bull in the sale. He definitely doesn't have the most sweet personality of all the bulls offered this year but as you can tell he's been handled in the picture pen by himself so his temperament is manageable. Some people save the best bull for last and others want all of the good ones at the front. You can come up with any reasoning you would like for why he is last, but regardless of what you decide, this bull is flat good! 4201 gave him the great hide color, attractive front 1/3, and a nice birth weight. His Above & Beyond mother made him extremely easy fleshing ,and the Charolais came through for extra power down his top and into his lower quarter.. Keep bidding until the gavel falls!

Commerical Pairs Lo t 67 - 1 5 C o m m e r ci a l Pa i r s 2 -year-old females with calf at side Commercial red Angus Calves born from February 1st - march 1st sired by pUREbRED red angus bulls

Why Crossbred Cattle? When crossbreeding as opposed to straightbreeding, there is a 4% increase in number of calves weaned and they wean off at about 5% heavier than straightbred calves under the same management. The increase in numbers of calves born and weaned (4%) when crossbred is due to a greater livability of the crossbred calf as compared to straightbred calves. Greater livability of crossbred calves becomes obvious within the first week to ten days after birth. The crossbred calf, compared to a straightbred, is more hardy and aggressive. They stand, nurse earlier and are more resistant to the calfhood stresses such as chill and scours. Advantages of more aggressiveness also contributes to the increase in weaning weights of crossbred calves. Crossbred calves appear to stimulate the cow more than straightbred calves by more frequent and longer nursing. This leads to an increase in milk flow, which has the net result of heavier weaning weights.
