What do you want out of this unit?

From this unit, I am interested in learning about the new beginning of AI design technology and how this can benefit designers and the industry by introducing AI design to the field. I am interested to see how this can impact the careers of future designers and how the design industry will emerge this into the industry without letting AI take over.

What are the opportunities for interior architects in your given topic?

In my chosen topic AI specialized design service, it can be seen that AI will be providing a lot of design opportunities for interior architects in the future. It can be seen to help interior architect designers by providing lots of assistance and prototypes for designers to help with their projects and saving immense time on designing for clients.

Should interior architects be aware and design for future trends? Why or why not?

I think interior architects should be aware of designing for future trends as designers must keep up with trends and learn new software development to keep up with the marketing demands. It is known that clients are driven to new products by keeping up with the current trends and technology and I believe that designers should be doing the same in order to generate a sustainable income and create a network of clients.

It is essential for interior architecture firms to analyze their competitors as this would help them keep up with their current client demands and grow more network base since this action will benefit them to stand out in the competitor crowds as a reliable firm among others.

Interior architect’s value proposition is to provide design services that are required for client demands and to bring clients’ vision to reality by creating spaces that interact with clients throughout the selection of designs and materials.

Do you think interior architecture firms need to have a long-term vision?

Why or why not?

Yes, it is crucial for business firms to have a long-term vision for their growth. I believe that each and every company envisions themselves in the long term run as their solid purposes are to grow and to expand their firms otherwise, they will not be successful in the long run if this plan has not been thought through.

Do you think we as an industry need to strengthen the architect’s value in the public’s eye? Why or why not?

In my opinion, industries should not strengthen the architect’s value since it has already been a valuable career for the industry as there are high demands everywhere especially when it comes to needing infrastructure to be built. It is considered important for clients to emerge and interact with the design industry to understand the importance of designers for society.

Should interior architecture firms update their visions regularly, or maintain one for the entirety of the business?

It is important for firms to stick to their vision as it makes them appear unique and interesting and to maintain their network growth. I believe that changing your visions frequently would have an impact on your network growth as this will make your firm disorientated and with no long-term vision prepared.

Do you think clients remunerate interior architecture firms’ value appropriately? Why or why not?

I believe that interior architecture firm’ is being unvalued compared to other designing industry as people are still conflicted with architecture design firm since they believe that architecture also provides the same design services as interior architecture.

However, interior architecture serves a different purpose than architecture, we not only provide shelter but create comfort and pleasing designs for clients who want to achieve their goals.

How can interior architects better communicate their value to prospective clients?

To better communicate with prospective clients, by providing an interesting and interactive portfolio of your work to your targeted clients. Further, showing a deeper interest in clients’ knowledge of designing and trying to engage with them can help them comprehend the value of your designs compared to other designers. This way you can build confidence and trust from your clients to form a strong and trustworthy network while growing your business as an interior architect.

WEEK 7: Is my firm positioned differently?

What is Positioning and why is it important?

Positioning refers to where the company sits in the industry for its brands or products within a selected target audience. Positioning is important in business as it helps the firm create clarity among its target audiences and represent itself as a suitable company for its customers.

What does a good business positioning look like?

A good business positioning consists of a strong company culture and vision as this helps the company to stand out amongst its competitors and to help position itself in great market demands with the fewest competitors.

WEEK 9: How does my firm operate?

Do you think interior architecture firms have different business models or do most firms use the same generic business model? Why do you think so?

I do think that some interior architecture firms have similar business models. Some business firm tends to follow the same trends as one another or the same business strategy because they believe that this could help attract their audiences and that it has proven successful amongst their competitors. This could also be another reason to help the firms to continue to operate without going bankrupt for a long time.

How can interior architecture firms strengthen their business model to stand out from other interior architecture firms?

There are many ways for interior architecture firms to stand out amongst their competitors by having a strong firm vision setting amongst themselves. Firms should stick to their unique aesthetic and design ideas as this can help them stand out amongst other competitors and attract the right audience for their products.

FINAL REFLECTION Throughout the learning of this semester, this unit has taught me that starting a successful business is a long process journey. It has not only taught me an understanding of analyzing the fundamental business but also provided me with a deeper understanding of the business world and a sense of confidence in navigating the complex world of business.

This assessment has given me a great understanding of the business industry with new key factors that I have not known before, and given me an opportunity to analyze my strengths and weaknesses. Acknowledging my own potential is a crucial step to develop further into creating my business strategy and to work on any aspects that I was lack of. The mind of an entrepreneur is complex and challenging but it was such a rewarding journey achieving the progress I have made.

This class has challenged me to think critically, make informed decisions, and select the right audience to pitch my business to, as well as make the right business goals and stick to them if I want to utilize my business in the long run. Further, I have not only obtained valuable knowledge but also developed essential skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and effective communication skills which I believe are the fundamental aspects that a person should have when approaching the business world. Overall, this unit has been a rewarding journey and I am eager to apply the knowledge I have learned into practice in the future.
