ABOUT ME

BELPANHAPICK SOK

Interior Architecture Student

“It all started with a drawing. A drawing that my uncle had been working on for days, perfecting its angle, its shades, and its line weights until he was satisfied with it before putting the pen down. As a child, I enjoyed watching him spend hours crafting and bringing his vision to reality, how he would cut little pieces of wood and other materials to put them together to create conceptual models that look similar to my favorite doll house. And little did I know, his actions inspired me to be just like him when I grew up.

I have decided to explore my design pathway as an interior architecture student to further pursue my passion and explore the depth of my creativity. I have learned the importance of creating a space that personally belongs to you and how you can co-exist harmoniously with nature. I am passionate about creating welcoming, functional, and thoughtfully crafted spaces in which every detail matters for shaping an environment’s impact. My journey as a student has encouraged me to continually seek growth, learn about sustainable practices, and infuse innovation with creativity while staying truthful to my design values.

I am looking forward to stepping into the next chapter of this journey, taking on new challenges, learning new skills, and involving myself with collaborative, like-minded people. I aim to contribute to projects that blend design with purpose, adding value to communities and shaping a more sustainable future.”

THE WELL DESIGN WORKPLACE

The Purpose of designing this workplace is to create a small fashion design workshop suitable for 8 to 10 employees. The space contains a showroom display for customers to purchase or invest with the company as stakeholders.

Mainly inspired by the building’s spatial layout and location, I believe that my concept of proposing a small design fashion company is suitable for this project as it’s positioned in a vibrant, creative neighborhood with high foot traffic. This attracts a community that supports unique and local designers. The selected location is filled with a variety of growing businesses, creating opportunities for the brand’s presence and connecting it with the right audience that appreciates a unique and high-quality design.

Designing a workplace using the WELL design method creates a healthier, more productive environment that prioritizes employee health and well-being by focusing on important aspects such as air, water, nourishment, light, movement, thermal comfort, sound, materials, mind, and community. The WELL design method is considered the most crucial part of design development as it promotes physical and mental health, reduces stress, and improves overall job performance. This approach benefits employees and reinforces a company’s commitment to sustainable and people-focused practices.

A Neutral color palette promotes a calm, focused environment by creating a sense of openness and versatility while maintaining a professional and timeless appeal.

STUDENT HOUSING

The purpose of designing a student housing accommodation is to create a supportive environment that enhances both the academic and personal growth of students. The student housing design is based on promoting well-being, offering flexible spaces for studying, socializing, and relaxation. Equipped with a modern dining kitchen area and two separate living rooms, one for the private courtyard and another located upstairs as a classic living room designed to give students maximum comfort while staying.

By integrating elements that support privacy, independence, and sustainability, student housing becomes more than a place to live—it’s a foundation for building friendships, gaining life skills, and thriving during a transformative period. Thoughtful design ensures students feel comfortable, connected, and inspired in a space they can truly call home.

FURITURE MOODBOARD

The selection of neutral, functional furniture for student accommodation is ideal for creating a comfortable, adaptable, and diverse living space that students need. This furniture choice offers a versatile base that accommodates students’ needs and personal styles, allowing them to make the space of their own. Its durability and timeless design are suitable for frequent use and remain stylish and practical over time, creating an ideal balance between comfort and practicality.

COLOR PALLET

Using a neutral color palette in student accommodation creates a calming, adaptable space where students feel comfortable and focused. It provides a versatile backdrop that complements individual decor choices, making rooms feel personalized while also maintaining a timeless, low-maintenance aesthetic decoration.

CORROBOREE CENTRE

The Corroboree Design Centre was created to honor and elevate Indigenous Australian culture, art, and craftsmanship. It serves as a hub for cultural exchange and community engagement where traditional knowledge and modern design intersect.

This project aims to provide a dedicated design center space where Indigenous artists can share their heritage and stories through design while offering opportunities for skill development, economic empowerment, and collaboration. The center will not only showcase traditional and contemporary Indigenous art but also educate visitors, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

By blending art, education, and community, the Corroboree Design Centre plays a crucial role in preserving and honoring Indigenous cultural heritage while making it accessible to a broader audience.

COLOR PALLET

A natural palette in an exhibition space creates a warm, inviting atmosphere that lets the artwork or displays take center stage. Earthy tones and soft neutrals provide a calm, unobtrusive backdrop, helping visitors focus on the exhibit while creating a cohesive, grounded feel. This palette also works well with various lighting setups, making the space adaptable for exhibits.

The purpose of creating a student public study space within a university is to create a balanced space that supports productivity and well-being. By creating a student study space that can be shifted seamlessly between focused study and relaxation, fosters a healthier academic experience.

Using active environmental components such as natural direction, wall partitions, and dynamic lighting helps create an adaptable space that supports concentration and well-being. By incorporating natural elements like greenery, sunlight, and fresh air, the design highly encourages mental clarity, reduces stress, and improves air quality, all essential for students. This approach promotes sustainable practices, inspiring students to value and engage with eco-friendly environments. Ultimately, such spaces provide an ideal setting for studying, collaboration, and personal growth, all while minimizing environmental impact.
