Dear Couples Member - Guest Participants,
On behalf of the entire Belfair Staff, it is our sincere pleasure to welcome you to the 2024 Couples Member-Guest.
The tournament weekend offers several special activities, including a chipping contest, a Skills Challenge and two great days of tournament golf featuring a unique format where each player will partner with a different teammate after each 9 holes. Most importantly, though, it is our hope that the tournament format allows each of you to enjoy the camaraderie and fellowship that this great game provides.
Throughout the weekend, it is our goal to show our Members and Guests a truly remarkable tournament experience.

Tournament Information

in the following manner to comprise the net two best balls of the foursome:
East Course Format
Holes 1 - 9 : The team score will be comprised of 1 Best Ball of the 2 Ladies & 1 Best Ball of the 2 Gentlemen.
Holes 10 - 18 : The team score will be comprised of 1 Best Ball of the Lady Member and Gentleman Guest & 1 Best Ball of the Lady Guest and Gentleman Member.
West Course Format
Holes 1 - 9 : The team score will be comprised of 1 Best Ball of the Member Couple and 1 Best Ball of the Guest Couple.
Holes 10 - 18 : The team score will be comprised of the 2 Best Balls of the Foursome
Tees
Ladies will play the Forward Tees Gentlemen will play the Medal, Member or Club Tees

Teams will be flighted based upon the combined handicap index of the team.
Handicap Tournament Information
All players are required to have an attested USGA Handicap Index. Competitors will receive 95% their respective course handicap.
Maximum playing Handicap for the ladies is 36 and 27 for the men. Handicap Indexes were taken from May 4th.
Prizes will be awarded to the winning team in each flight. All prizes will be presented at the Awards Presentation in the Oaks Dining Room on Saturday Evening.
Ties for Flight Winners will be broken by the teams final round score.

Penalty Areas – Yellow Penalty Areas are marked by yellow stakes and/or lines. Red Penalty Areas are marked by red stakes and/or lines. When both stakes and lines are present, the lines define the margin of the penalty area.
Immovable Obstructions Close to Putting Green – Relief from interference by an immovable obstruction may be taken under rule 16.1. In addition, if the player’s ball lies off the putting green and in the general area cut to fairway height and an immovable obstruction within two club-lengths of the putting green and within two club-lengths of the ball intervenes on the line of play, the player may take relief under Rule 16.1 Model Local Rule F-5
Provisional Ball – On Holes #9 & #10, if a player is unsure as to if their ball crossed the penalty area, they may declare a provisional ball from the teeing area. If the player’s ball did not in fact clear the penalty area, the competitor may play the provisional ball and record the appropriate penalty strokes under Local Rule B-3.
Sandy Areas – The East Course was designed with sandy areas on holes 4, 8, 11, 14, 16, 17 & 18. These sanded areas contain grass or ornamental shrubs and may also be defined by off-white colored sand. These areas are considered general area and there is no penalty for grounding a club in these sanded areas.For consideration of fellow golfers, players may rake their footprints or smooth the surface with a club or rake
Immovable Obstruction – The rest room on Hole #13 is defined as an immovable obstruction. Players may take relief for stance and swing (NOT LINE OF SIGHT) using the designated drop zone.
Roads and Paths – All non-paved paths are considered an integral part of the course. Concrete paths are considered immovable obstructions; players may take relief under rule 16.1.
Additional Information – Lightning and dangerous weather conditions – One Long Siren Blast Play is Suspended Immediately. Three Intermittent Siren Blasts Resume Play. Shelters are located at Hole #4/Hole #10, Hole #13 and the Clubhouse. Please repair your ball marks and fill all divots with sand.
