Welcome from your Professionals

Dear Ladies Member-Member Participants,

Welcome to the 2024 Ladies Member-Member Tournament. On behalf of the Professional Staff, we are pleased to have you join us for this special Club Event. It is our hope, along with our Golf Staff, that you thoroughly enjoy your tournament experience as well as the camaraderie of your fellow Members.

As you will find in the Schedule of Events, we kick of the festivities with registration and team betting. Although the main focus will be on golf, you will also be treated to culinary delights as well as warm hospitality and service from the Food and Beverage Team.

Thank you to our Committee Members; Kim Luther & Anne Oberg for all of their hard work in putting together all of the details for this event!

Again, on behalf of the entire Belfair Staff, we wish you the best of luck throughout the competition, but most importantly, an enjoyable and memorable Member-Member experience.

Sincerely,

Zack

In the Pinehurst format the team will receive a East Course Handicap equal to 60% of the Low Player and 40% of the High Player. In the Better Ball of Partners format, each player will receive 85% of their West Course Handicap. Handicap posting requirement of > 90% posting percentage in ForeTees is in effect. Handicap Indexes were taken from September 16th. All handicaps listed in the tournament booklet are from the Forward Tee markers.

Local Rules

The Rules of Golf of the United States Golf Association Govern All Play Except for the following Local Rules:

Out of Bounds – Out of Bounds is defined by course-side edge of white stakes and/or lines, boundary fences, and the course-side edges of roads bordering the course.

Penalty Areas – Yellow Penalty Areas are marked by yellow stakes and/or lines. Red Penalty Areas are marked by red stakes and/or lines. When both stakes and lines are present, the lines define the margin of the penalty area.

Immovable Obstructions Close to Putting Green – Relief from interference by an immovable obstruction may be taken under rule 16.1. In addition, if the player’s ball lies off the putting green and in the general area cut to fairway height and an immovable obstruction within two club-lengths of the putting green and within two club-lengths of the ball intervenes on the line of play, the player may take relief under Rule 16.1 Model Local Rule F-5

Provisional Ball – On Holes #9 & #10, if a player is unsure as to if their ball crossed the penalty area, they may declare a provisional ball from the teeing area. If the player’s ball did not in fact clear the penalty area, the competitor may play the provisional ball and record the appropriate penalty strokes under Local Rule B-3.

Sandy Areas – The East Course was designed with sandy areas on holes 4, 8, 11, 14, 16, 17 & 18 as well as the West Course on holes 2, 3, 13 & 15. These sanded areas contain grass or ornamental shrubs and may also be defined by offwhite colored sand. These areas are considered general area and there is no penalty for grounding a club in these sanded areas. For consideration of fellow golfers, players may rake their footprints or smooth the surface with a club or rake.

Immovable Obstruction – The rest room on Hole #13 east is defined as an immovable obstruction. Players may take relief for stance and swing (NOT LINE OF SIGHT).

Roads and Paths – All non-paved paths are considered an integral part of the course. Concrete paths are considered immovable obstructions; players may take relief under rule 16.1. Crush and Run Path (Hole #17 West) – Golfers are permitted relief from the sand path running in front of the #17 green. Players may take their nearest point of relief one club length no nearer the hole that gives you complete relief from the path.

Additional Information – Lightning and dangerous weather conditions – One Long Siren Blast = Play is Suspended Immediately. Three Intermittent Siren Blasts = Resume Play. Shelters on east are located at Hole #4/Hole #10, Hole #13 and the Clubhouse. Shelters on west are located at hole #5, hole #13 and the clubhouse. Please repair your ball marks and fill all divots with sand.
