AKC BOOK WEEK
Students celebrated Book Week, the annual celebration of literature, reading, and storytelling. It's the time when schools, libraries, and communities come together to promote the joy of reading and to celebrate the power of books.
During our Book Week, students were thrilled to engage in various activities, such as book fairs, storytelling sessions, and themed dress-up days, where students can dress as their favourite book characters. The Primary Students brought the pages of their favourite books to life with their imaginative representations of their alter egos, as they dressed themselves in their favourite book characters. Also, the Primary School was transformed, with scenes from several classic stories being displayed in the corridors, which allowed our students to sit and immerse themselves in a literary atmosphere and enjoy an incredible experience.
The Secondary School's Inter-house Debate was an occasion where our students grappled with the complexities of the AI revolution and where students from each house researched and debated on the positives and negatives of Artificial Intelligence. The Red house emerged as the overall Debate Competition Winners, but everyone who took part thoroughly enjoyed the debate. Well done to everyone who participated!
School debates are ideal opportunities for students to develop public speaking, improve their knowledge on specific topics and utilize research skills. Students grow in confidence and develop their personality as they compete in these formative experiences.
ENTERPRENAUR ACTIVITY
Grade 9 business studies students hosted an impressive fair, where they showed their entrepreneurial spirits as they presented their business ideas. Each group of students designed and developed a concept and then manufactured their business idea, bringing it to the marketplace in our school-based venue. It was an invaluable hands-on learning experience for all involved.
QC VISIT TO THE MYSTERY DOME
Our term 3 educational trip was to visit the ‘Mystery Dome’, which was sited at the Al Khuwair Campus. During the presentation in the dome, they learned about stars, planets, and the Universe in a 3D animated portrayal.
Students discovered a lot about our Universe, had a great time at the event and enjoyed interacting with their peers in the Al Khuwair school.
