Antanas Sutkus was born in 1939 and studied journalism at the University of Vilnius. He was co-founder and chairman of the Union of Lithuanian Art Photographers and has been its honorary chairman since 2009. Among his many awards are the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres of the French Republic (2015) and the Dr.-Erich-Salomon-Â Preis of the German Photographic Association (2017).
