Purchasedequipmentusedtotreatpediatricretinoblastomasin childrenunderfiveyearsofage.Earlydiagnosisandtreatmentofthis conditioncanhelppreventvisionlossandstopthecancerfrom spreading.

FundedaresearchprojectincollaborationwithMiami-DadeandBroward Nurse-FamilyPartnershipnurses,familiesandcommunitystakeholders titled“HáblameBebé:ImprovingLong-TermLanguageOutcomesinLowIncomeHispanicChildren.”ThestudyseekstolearnifHáblameBebé,a phoneapplicationusedtosupportHispanicchildren’searlylanguage environmentsandbilingualism,isaviablewaytoreachlow-income Hispaniccaregiverswhofaceobstaclesinaccessinghome-visiting programsfortheirchildrenand/oraccessinghealthinformation.Thegoal istolearnhowtobestcoachSpanish-speakingmothersonhowandwhy totalkmoretotheirbabiestoimprovetheirchildren’slong-term developmentalandeducationaloutcomes Preliminaryanalysissuggests thatmotherswhousedtheapphadstatisticallyhighersociolinguistic prideandknowledgeabouttheimportanceofearlybraindevelopment andbilingualism,andmorenativeinteractionswiththeirinfant.
