A multipurpose activity room located on the third floor for art, baking, and dozens of other stimulating activities.
Foothills Fitness
Includes cardiovascular, balance, and strength training equipment. The center hosts a variety of fitness classes and is staffed with a fitness and wellness coordinator. Personalized training programs available for an additional charge. Foothills Fitness is located on the second floor.
The Caribou Lounge
A bar area where residents enjoy movies, lectures, and social gatherings. Caribou Lounge is located on the first floor.
    Madeline’s Salon
Full hair, nail (manicure and pedicure) and facial services available for an additional charge. Madeline’s is located on the second floor.
At Balfour, our Concierge Service provides much more than just recommending things to do and places to see around town. Your Balfour Concierge is the eyes and ears of the community, and can assist you with any request you may have. No request is too big or too small.
Concierge Services is happy to assist you in setting up and getting comfortable with LifeLoop. Be sure to get acquainted with it. LifeLoop is our community-based communication system that allows you to register for events and activities, schedule transportation, request maintenance, contact other residents and staff, and more.

Our staff is happy to help you and your digital devices settle in to your Balfour home. We know that getting used to new WiFi, cellular service, internet service providers, apps, software platforms, etc. can be difficult. Please let us know if you need our assistance. No question is too small or large to ask.
We are always adapting to the needs of our residents and we will provide the needed help and training you need to make your move to Balfour as comfortable as possible.
Be sure to schedule time with our team to get to know our LifeLoop app and platform. LifeLoop is a wonderful, safe, and secure communication platform for you, your loved ones, and our staff.

Meals may be enjoyed in-person in The Sugarbeet, as carry-out or by delivery to your apartment*.

Bi-weekly services include:
• Bathroom
• Kitchenette (dishes left in the sink will be washed)
• Bed Making (upon request): Two sets of sheets are needed. Please place the clean set of sheets on the bed if you wish to have them changed. If the sheets are not out, housekeepers will not go into personal belongings to find them and, as a result, the sheets will not be changed.

Time permitting, the following may be provided:
• Window Washing (inside – the outside windows will be washed professionally once a year)
• Blinds Cleaning
• Dusting - Our housekeepers do not move personal items.
• Apartment carpet cleaning will be scheduled after you have lived in your apartment home for one year, at no cost to you. If you wish to have it done before that time, please alert the Concierge and the charge will be applied to your account.
Scheduling Conflicts: Occasionally, your regular cleaning will need to be rescheduled due to special circumstances, such as inclement weather conditions, illness or vacation of a resident or housekeeper.
Rescheduling: We understand that things come up at the last minute. You may not feel well or perhaps you have company coming and you would like to move up your cleaning time. We will make every effort to try to reschedule your cleaning at a time that is more convenient for you. To arrange, please call 303.242.2552 or submit request through LifeLoop.
Time Change: If your housekeeper will be early or late, you will be notified.
Special Instructions or Requests: Please let your housekeeper know if you have any special instructions. If your requests fall outside our regular cleaning regimen, we are happy to accommodate them at an hourly charge. We will try our very best to accommodate your request(s).

It is scientific fact that social interaction is essential to good health. Our Life Enrichment programming has something for everyone. Everything from intimate group gatherings to lively discussions about current events. You will look forward to each day!
On any given day, there might be live music, book clubs, dancing, cooking demonstrations, crafts classes and organized trips with friends. Some of the other activities we may include are music therapy, art therapy, and our always popular pet therapy.
Our programming is designed to promote physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.

    Balfour provides maintenance services for all built-in appliances, plumbing, heating and air-conditioning equipment, and common areas. If you have a maintenance need, please notify Concierge Services and or submit a work request through LifeLoop.
Maintenance work can be done in your absence. In the event of an emergency, management may be required to act on its own authority to admit service personnel without prior approval. Such cases might include services such as plumbing or electrical problems.
For questions regarding your appliances or for step-by-step guidance on how to use an appliance, please contact Concierge Services and they will have a Maintenance team member come to your home.

Madeline’s Salon is named after the mother of Balfour founder, Michael Schonbrun.
Salon services were important to Madeline and, in turn, became an integral part of the experience of living in a Balfour Senior Living community.
We offer a full range of professional services, including:

If you need transportation during business hours, please make your request to Concierge Services or through LifeLoop 48 hours in advance of the time you have requested to leave. Impromptu service may be accommodated based on availability.
Balfour will provide transportation for residents to certain local shopping centers, banks, and designated medical centers within a specific radius of the community on an established schedule at no additional charge. Additional fees would apply for transportation outside of the service radius.
• Transportation outside of 20-mile radius, $35 each way
• Transportation outside of normal business hours: $45 each way
• Transportation to DIA: $75 each way (any day or time with 72-hour notice)
Standing appointments will be scheduled and confirmed by Concierge Services with the resident’s input. The reoccurring appointment will be scheduled until the resident cancels or revises the request with Transportation.
It is up to the resident to notify Concierge Services or through LifeLoop of any changes in transportation requests as soon as possible. Medical appointments are given priority in scheduling. We make every effort to accommodate all requests.
Any Memory Care resident using Balfour’s transportation services must have a companion to accompany them to their destination. Balfour will not provide such a companion for Memory Care residents

    In your apartment bathroom there is an Emergency Call Unit. If you are having an emergency and require immediate medical assistance, please pull the cord and/or press your pendant. This will send notification to the care staff that you are in need of assistance. When the care staff receives an emergency notification from a pull cord or a pendant they will come to your apartment.
Once activated, the emergency system will alert our Nursing Team who will go to the apartment, assess the situation and call for medical personnel if needed.
The Longmont Fire Department maintains six fire stations. The closest is located at 501 South Pratt Parkway, Longmont, CO 80501 which is 2.2 miles away (2-5 minute response time) from Balfour Longmont. The second closest is located at 617 Barberry Dr., Longmont, CO 80503 and is 2.4 miles away (2-5 minute response time) from Balfour Longmont.
Periodically we will conduct fire drills for the benefit of both the staff and residents. In those instances, we request that you start the evacuation process. At the end of the drill, we will declare an “all clear” and notify the residents.
• Balfour Senior Living is a non-smoking community. Smoking, vaping or use of any tobacco products are not allowed anywhere on the Balfour premises, including common areas, personal vehicles, and resident apartments. Smoking, vaping or use of any tobacco products is only allowed off-site.
• Candles are not allowed.
• Space heaters are not allowed.
• Extensions cords are not allowed; power strips are permissible.
• Personal barbecue grills are not allowed at Balfour. We can provide a grill for use in designated areas only. Please contact Concierge Services for details.
Within 15 minutes of losing power, Concierge Services will call Xcel Energy to determine the length of time the power will be out and if it is a localized outage or if it is more widespread. Balfour at Longmont is equipped with a emergency back up generator for power outages.
Balfour at Longmont is constructed to meet strict codes governing fire safety. The following summarizes the construction of Balfour Senior Living with respect to fire safety:
• Doors leading from hallways to units can withstand fire for 20 minutes.
• Walls between units can withstand fire for 1 hour.
• Each building floor has a series of fire doors which close automatically when the building fire alarm is triggered. These doors serve as smoke and fire barriers and withstand fire for 1 ½ hours.
• Stairways provide a protected area as they are concrete block structures with doors that can withstand fire up to 1 ½ hours.
• All duct work in the ventilation system has fire dampers to prevent the spread of fire through the heating and air conditioning system.
• Carpet in the units is made with a fire retardant.
If the alarm goes off, Concierge Services identifies the location of the fire on the fire panel at the Front Entrance and waits for the Fire Department to arrive to direct them to the location of the fire. Other staff members have additional responsibilities during the day, including bringing a fire extinguisher to the location of the fire and using it. Concierge Services has been instructed by the Fire Department to guide them to the fire.
IF THE FIRE IS IN YOUR UNIT, GO TO THE NEAREST STAIRWAY OR THROUGH FIRE DOORS TO A SMOKE-FREE AREA AND START THE EVACUATION PROCESS.
The fire panel will tell the Fire Department the location of the fire and automatically direct personnel to the specified unit/area. The Fire Department will search all stairways during any evacuation.
IF YOU CANNOT LEAVE YOUR UNIT BECAUSE OF SMOKE IN THE HALLWAY, SOAK TOWELS WITH WATER AND STUFF THEM BENEATH YOUR DOOR. Call 9-1-1 to report your situation. If you have a balcony or patio, go there, and close the door behind you. Remember to unlock the door first.
