We are pleased to announce that ABLE INSTRUMENTS AND CONTROLS has received the Industrial Process News Commitment to Excellence Award.
In 1985, Don Burnham and Mike Shortall founded ABLE Instruments and Controls, on a former WWII Spitfire base. Don, a physicist, and Mike, an engineer, established the firm as a distributor of third-party measurement devices. They identified an opportunity to supply customers with the required technology, delivering long-term instrumentation and control solutions.
“ABLE Instruments & Controls was founded to fill the void created by the rigid supply nature of instrumentation manufacturers and the lack of engineering and support capability exhibited by traditional representative organisations. The experience of the company founders whilst working within both types of organization and, more importantly, the frustration of customers when searching for a solution to their measurement requirement, directly lead to the formation of the company in 1985.” David Quelch, Business Development and Marketing Manager explains.
ABLE is active across a broad range of industries including oil and gas, power, food, chemical, pharmaceutical, automotive, original equipment manufacturer solutions, renewables, water and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. Whatever the requirement, the fundamental ethos of ABLE remains the same. The ABLE framework is based on vision, evolution, and foundation. The company vision is to adapt or create relevant instruments with innovative designs or custom systems with the client able to access a skilled engineering and support system in place for the lifetime of the product. ABLE has grown from a concept into a global leader in instrument measurement, shifting away from conventional supply methodology.
The development of the e-commerce brand is an example of this new methodology, as ABLE continues to grow into additional markets whilst retaining its core values. In 2020, ABLE became the premier e-commerce distributor for Bartec, experts in providing safety solutions and products that prevent explosions. In 2023 ABLE were responsible for 95% of the Bartec’s field comms equipment range which includes ATEX cameras, mobile phones, and tablets.
ABLE’s Research and Development team has spent the past seven to eight years designing the FlareMaster, an advanced flare metering system with a modular configuration that has been deployed in multiple offshore installations. It features a dual redundancy and a supervisory system to enhance the performance of ultrasonic flare gas meters. It also determines the composition of the flare gas to assist in accurate reporting of Green House Gases. The FlareMaster is effective in reducing the uncertainty budget of the gas density, and for one operator this has led to a major improvement in emissions reporting and therefore contributed to Tier III compliance.
ABLE’s instrumentation is in use at Mogden Sewage Treatment Works. This facility services an area of 55 hectares with approximately 2.1 million users. ABLE was engaged as part of a £140 million project by Thames Water to upgrade the site's Jerome Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) Analysers. ABLE upgraded all 15 analyser systems to the current generation of Model J605 and housed each in thermostatically sealed environmental enclosures.
Since the upgrade, the J605 has improved accuracy in critical nuisance odour monitoring, plus automatic sampling and regeneration functionality that assist in longer term periods of unattended monitoring. The J605 has been employed by a variety of water treatment and waste management companies, as well as regulatory authorities including the
Environment Agency, the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency, and Natural Resources Wales.
In further developments, ABLE are Magnetrol’s partner for exclusive distribution and support in the UK and Ireland. Magnetrol’s name is synonymous with an extensive range of innovative level and flow instrumentation and a highly respected name in the Oil and Gas industry. Magnetrol, like ABLE, has a strong ethos to deliver excellent service and with a competitive pricing structure that complements ABLE’s own, this partnership has a strong foundation for long-term success.
The ABLE range includes the Micronics UX5000 ATEX Zone 1 Ultrasonic Clamp-On Flow Meter and offers precise flow measurement without needing process downtime. Certified for Zones 1 and 2, it has an Intrinsically Safe measurement system with wet-calibrated transducers for reliable accuracy.
The UX5000 features a separate display (DCSIU) and measurement unit (RMU) for flexible installation. This flow meter is ideal for harsh applications in industries like chemicals, water, and oil and being used to measure liquid hydrocarbon flow in oil processing and various chemical industry measurements.
Going forward, Dave explains what the future will hold. “ABLE are suppliers of a wide diversity of both cutting edge and traditional instrumentation to the process and research industries. We move into our 5th decade of operation as an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), having obtained all the shares from the previous shareholder and thereby securing the independence and succession of ownership of the business.”
“We continue to remain faithful to the philosophy on which the company was founded, to supply solutions and not just products. ABLE has forged long term relationships with some of the strongest brands in the world of process control and analytical measurement and developed our own solutions to some of the more difficult measurements across the oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, utilities, food and pharmaceutical sectors.”

The BCMPA – the Association for Contract Manufacturing, Packing, Fulfilment & Logistics –is set to showcase the growing impact of outsourcing in the chemical sector at CHEMUK 2025, taking place on May 21st–22nd at the NEC Birmingham. As a founder partner of the event, the BCMPA will once again be at the forefront, providing insights into the essential role of UK contract manufacturers in supporting the industry’s evolving needs.
In celebration of its 25th Anniversary, the BCMPA launched its #outsourcingis campaign in 2025. The initiative aims to define the value of outsourcing and demonstrate how BCMPA members can help brands and retailers enhance operational efficiency, reduce pressures, and support business growth across the chemical and other sectors.
Visitors can find the BCMPA team at Stand K94 in the Chemicals Management Show, where the #outsourcingis campaign will be a key focus, offering insights into contract manufacturing, blending, tolling, filling, repacking, handling, and distribution. Five BCMPA members – Biodeg, Briar Chemicals, Cod Beck Blenders, Libra Speciality Chemicals, and Rakem Group – will also be exhibiting, showcasing their expertise in chemical processing and supply chain solutions.
As regulatory demands tighten, material costs fluctuate, and technical expertise becomes scarcer, outsourcing is becoming a strategic necessity. Many companies, particularly in HI&I (Household, Industrial & Institutional) sectors, are turning to contract manufacturers to streamline operations, reduce risk, and meet stringent compliance and traceability requirements.
To address these challenges, the BCMPA will moderate a panel discussion on Thursday 22nd May, titled “How Outsourcing Manufacturing Helps Brands Get to Market Quickly, Safely, and Drives Business Growth.” Industry experts Emma Verkaik, CEO of the BCMPA, Matt Wood, Managing Director, HI&I Technical, and Martin Usher, Chairman, Grotech Production will discuss how outsourcing to third-party partners helps brands, retailers, and start-ups alleviate operational pressures, ensure compliance, reduce costs, and focus on scaling their businesses to stay competitive in an increasingly complex market.
“CHEMUK provides the perfect platform to reinforce the value of outsourcing in the chemical industry, especially as we celebrate the BCMPA’s 25th anniversary,” said Emma Verkaik.
“Many businesses still underestimate the strategic benefits of outsourcing. Our new campaign is designed to bridge this knowledge gap, demonstrating how outsourcing can enable brands to bring products to market more effectively.”
The BCMPA’s outsourcing campaign coincides with the introduction of the new Formulated Product Manufacturer Show Zone at CHEMUK, expanding the focus to homecare, industrial coatings, paints, lubricants, and other formulated products. This reflects the growing trend of businesses seeking agile, scalable outsourcing solutions to manage regulatory complexities, volatile material prices, and increasing quality demands.

From the early days, Verder earnt a reputation for being a reputable company who focusses on customer orientation and always striving towards understanding the customers’ business and process requirements.
After successfully expanding their pump business into European markets starting in 1970 and extending into Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Romania shortly after the fall of the ‘Iron Curtain,’ Verder acquired Retsch in 1989, forming the start of Verder Scientific.
The group was aligned along two strategic pillars: Verder Scientific and Verder Liquids. With this, customer focus was further improved. The product portfolio grew steadily in both business units, reaching a new level of customer awareness. In addition to sustained organic growth, the group began to expand its business activities into meaningful, strategically important areas through company formations and acquisitions.
Verder goes global and establishes a new base Verder now operates a network of more than 80 organisations worldwide, providing sales support and technical service, and ensuring customer proximity, which is vital for offering top notch solutions as well as establishing and maintaining longterm trustful partnerships. The typical mix of customer orientation, process understanding and know-how that André Verder gave the family business as its DNA, remained at the heart of Verder after his son Andries took over the company management in 2005.
The rapid diversification and expansion of the preceding years lead to the establishment of a powerful umbrella organisation, the Verder Group, in 2005. Apart from steering its subsidiaries, the Group headquarters assumes important cross-divisional tasks and services for the individual companies. It looks after the realisation of the synergies and has overall responsibility for a group-wide strategy development and corporate governance. This overarching organisation moved into new headquarters in The Netherlands at the Vleuten site, only a stone through away from the original house within which this all began.

PKL Series: High impact pneumatic impactors
Pneumatic impactors of the PKL series enable reliable and effective cleaning that is gentle on the container without deforming and subsequently constricting the outlets which gradually obstruct the material flow. The effect of the impactor is comparable to the traditional ‘silo hammer’ but avoids the health and safety risk to the operator. Strongly adhering materials are loosened by the impact of the PKL on its impact surface (not the container). The pneumatic impactor generates an ideal, elastic impulse. PKL impactors are not only more powerful but require less compressed air per impact. They are available in a whole range of models which can include features such as noise reduction, automatic controls, high temperature, ATEX and stainlesssteel options.
ePKL: The first practical electric impactor
With the ePKL, NetterVibration presents a technological innovation that enables the practical electric operation of an industrial impactor for the first time. This makes the ePKL flexible and easy to use and control almost anywhere, independently of a compressed air supply. The device perfectly complements the proven PKL series from NetterVibration. Like all PKL intermittent impactors, the ePKL
is particularly suitable for knocking off hard-to-remove adhesions on walls, pipes and containers. Examples of applications include the removal of hose formation, bridging and residual emptying.
About NetterVibration worldwide NetterVibration has its headquarters in Mainz-Kastel, Germany, and subsidiaries in Switzerland, Poland, Spain, Australia, France and the United Kingdom and is represented worldwide by a network of trading partners.

Quirepace are an SME manufacturer and supplier specialising in the niche markets of Pneumatic Tube Systems and Vacuum and Pressure products for Industry and Healthcare applications and are based at their HQ, factory and warehouse in Fareham, Hants.
Portable Industrial Vacuum Cleaners
Under the BVC – British Vacuum Cleaners – brand, Quirepace specialise in manufacturing Industrial Vacuum Cleaners for industry. The BVC brand is best known for the heavy-duty UK manufactured units that deliver the best of traditional, solid, British manufacturing and engineering.
The UK manufactured range of BVC Industrial Vacuum Cleaners consists of machines rated at 1kW to 15kW, with the largest machines being at the limit of what can usefully be called ‘portable’ machines. Fitted with robust wheels and casters, the complete range is capable of being easily manoeuvred to wherever it is needed to be used.
In the industrial workplace, hazards from dusts and spilled product fall into two distinct categories; the first is dusts that are hazardous to health. This category includes obvious products like asbestos and silica dust, but any dust that can be breathed in by the operator or other personnel in the workplace is likely to be hazardous to health to a degree. Industrial Vacuum Cleaners with M-Class and H-Class filtration ensure hazardous dusts are appropriately handled when being recovered.
The second category is dusts that are hazardous in the environment. The obvious category is dusts that can potentially cause an explosive atmosphere, particularly organic products like sugar and flour. Some products fall in to both categories such as wood dusts, which are both hazardous to health and potentially explosive. ATEX rated Industrial Vacuum Cleaners must be specified for use in ATEX zones.
The latest innovation in the range of BVC Industrial Vacuum Cleaners is the introduction of a completely cordless vacuum cleaner with 1.5kW of industrial cleaning power. This is achieved by using the new and revolutionary Honda eGX electric engine, which delivers 1/2hr to 1hr cleaning power without the need to ‘plug in.’ With a swappable battery and fast charging combined with a continuously rated motor and turbine the new cordless BVC IV60 eGX delivers a unique solution.
Exhausters and blowers
At the heart of most of the BVC range of Industrial Vacuum Cleaners is a BVC multi-stage turbine manufactured here in the UK at Fareham. Quirepace also supply a range of side-channel exhausters and blowers manufactured in Italy by Esam.
Together, the UK manufactured BVC multistage units plus the Esam side channel machines offer a range of units to satisfy every potential requirement for the supply of both positive and negative pressure air to industrial manufacturers and processors.
The choice of which type is more appropriate for the application depends to some extent whether it is more
important to maintain either a consistent pressure, or a consistent air flow as demand changes; A side channel will tend to vary the pressure against any resistance to maintain a constant flow, whereas a BVC multistage unit will tend to vary the flow to maintain a constant pressure. Quirepace’s expert sales team can guide the user towards the most appropriate solution.
An advantage of multistage exhausters and blowers is their robustness and resilience in harsh environments and an ability to cope with some contamination of the air without destroying the impeller.
Central vacuum cleaning systems
BVC Multistage vacuum pumps are ideal for smaller centralised vacuum cleaning installations. Typically these will have 2-3 simultaneous operators and a fixed pipework network distributed around the facility to serve the various use locations.
Central vacuum cleaning systems may either use a portable BVC vacuum cleaner to provide motive air or may be configured with static plant and collection hoppers, discharging in to FIBC, drums, etc.
Quirepace design and build central vacuum cleaning systems up to around 30kW, with configurations for hazardous dusts and ATEX environments. A wide range of hoses and tools is available to suit all requirements.
Pneumatic tube systems
Pneumatic tube systems are the best solution for moving small payloads up to around 3kg quickly between multiple locations within a facility. In industry, the principal use for Quirepace pneumatic tube systems is to transport samples for QC testing from the production floor to the on-site laboratory or testing location.
A range of different systems is offered to meet all possible requirements, from the simplest point-to-point ‘Diana’ system, to complex computer-controlled networks. Tube sizes range from 60mm to 200mm, with 75, 110, and 160mm diameters being the most common sizes.
Using a pneumatic tube system for rapid transportation of small payloads, is not only efficient, it also enhances health and safety by removing the requirement for people to walk samples through production areas.

Schmersal presents new safety light curtains/grids in Ex design
The Schmersal Group has expanded its range of optoelectronic protective devices with a series of safety light curtains/ grids in Ex design. The new EX-SLC/ SLG440 series is designed in the ignition protection types EX d (gas atmospheres), EX t (dust atmospheres) and EX op is (optical radiation) and is thus especially suitable for access protection of potentially explosive areas in industrial production – namely for zones 1 and 21.
There is an elevated risk of explosion in many areas of manufacturing, such as in the chemicals industry, in refineries or paint shops where flammable coatings are being used. In industries that process bulk materials, such as in the animal feed or recycling industries, as well as in sawmills and plants that process cereals and grains, there is a risk of dust explosion and the occasional formation of a potentially explosive dust cloud during normal operation.
Suitable for gaseous and dusty atmospheres of zones 1/21 and ignition protection type op is: the new SLC/SLG440 series of safety light curtains/barriers in Ex design
Schmersal has developed the SLC/SLG440 safety light curtain/grids in Ex version precisely for these applications. These devices can be installed in potentially explosive gaseous and dusty atmospheres of zones 1/21 and 2/22, category 2GD and are used to protect hazardous areas and machine access. When one or more of the beams is interrupted, hazardous
movements are brought to a halt.
The series is ATEX certified and further certification – IECEx, INMETRO and CCC Ex – are due to follow. The sensor system is accommodated in a protective enclosure made from non-breakable glass.
Ex-SLC440 safety light curtains for finger, hand and body detection are available in versions with a resolution of 14 and 30mm as well as ranges of between 0.3 and 20m. Ex-SLG440 safety light curtains are suitable for access control to hazardous areas.
The waterproof and dustproof devices achieve IP66 and IP67 protection class and also have the capability to be used outside.

Global water technology company, Xylem (NYSE: XYL), has announced the launch of the Jabsco PureFlo 21 Single Use pump, a breakthrough solution for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors which was globally unveiled at INTERPHEX 2024 (stand #3730), the new pump features an adjustable, integrated pressure relief valve – the first of its kind in single use pumping technology – to minimise risk of fluid contamination and maximise operator safety.
Chemical centrifugal pumps have revolutionised fluid movement across industries. At its core, a centrifugal pump is a device that uses rotational energy and is known for handling high flow rates, abrasive solutions, and mixing. Its simple design makes it ideal for water treatment, agriculture, and petrochemicals.
The new pumping solution has also been designed to support more sustainable manufacturing processes in pharmaceutical engineering. The multi-membrane, diaphragm pump comes equipped with a disposable pump head made from polypropylene plastic and contains 40% less material when compared to conventional single use pumps.
The PureFlo 21 Single Use is also the first single use pump to feature five pumping chambers. This unique design, coupled with a middle cone to optimise flow-through, guarantees the lowest fluid pulsation possible. The gentle, synchronised movement of the pump head membranes increase flow, and because there are no rotating parts to cause friction, the pump maintains operational quality and integrity – even in the most demanding applications.
The Jabsco PureFlo 21 Single Use diaphragm pump is available globally now. Please visit: www.xylem.com/ jabsco
Slurry centrifugal pumps possess nine key characteristics that enhance efficiency, durability, and suitability for handling abrasive and corrosive mixtures. These include robust construction, optimised impeller design, advanced wear protection, reliable sealing systems, reinforced bearing and shaft design, efficient drive and transmission, NPSH optimisation, scalable performance, and effective erosive wear management.
In the world of centrifugal pumps, the impeller plays a pivotal role in the movement of fluid. The two primary types of impellers are open and closed.
Closed impellers have vanes enclosed by walls on both sides, are predominantly used in larger pumps and are ideal for clear liquid applications. They excel in
scenarios that demand high efficiency with clean liquids.
Open impellers consist of vanes attached to a central hub, without any surrounding wall. They are typically found in smaller pumps and are best suited for applications where solid handling is necessary. They are also generally faster to maintain and are less prone to issues like sand locking.
Pemo Pumps open impellers are the go-to choice for handling fluids with suspended solids or those that contain a certain degree of particulate matter.

BITO has introduced a new generation of its LEO AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle), which combines an entirely new chassis with productivity enhancing technology to provide an innovative solution for automating material flow.
Far less complex than more expensive AGVs, the new LEO flow and LEO carrier offer vital advantages over manual handling and conveyor alternatives for transporting bins and containers, with a payback period often in one year or less.
LEO was first introduced in 2017 as the simplest AGV available on the market. Delivered in a box, all that’s required to get going is to lay a route marked by a 19mm wide blue or green track line with adhesive tape (there is a range of tapes to suit different levels of wear) or floor painting for the transporters to follow using optical navigation. Users enter instructions on
a tablet and markers with printed QR codes guide LEO on destination points, the speed to be driven at, the start and end of traffic light control, charging points, acoustic warning signals and more.
This means the transporters do not need to be programmed to the layout of a facility, so users can implement simple or moderately complex layouts themselves without the need of IT support and get started in just a few days. They can also adapt the system quickly and easily, enabling rapid reaction to seasonal fluctuations and warehouse reorganisations.
For more information on LEO AGVs, please visit: www.bito.com

By introducing a fully automated storage and retrieval system, ABB has achieved a 90% improvement in overall logistics efficiency at the factory. Eliminating manual handling has also reduced the time required for final assembly of packages by 30%. This improvement is critical since the process handles one piece every three minutes.
The solution consists of two ABB OmniVance™ FlexBuffer™ systems connected by a conveyor, each one equipped with ABB robots to enable efficient order handling. FlexBuffer allows for easy transitions between buffering, storing and sequencing tasks. It excels in efficiently combining
temporary storage and sequencing functions, giving it a competitive edge over traditional systems. The mixed item variant of the FlexBuffer enables the user to store a wide variety of box sizes, all being handled with the same robot gripper. Because of the dynamic racking positions all boxes are stored with minimal loss of space.
Adoption of the system has enhanced working
conditions for operators, alleviating the physical strain associated with manually handling heavy boxes. In addition, the workforce was reallocated to other manufacturing areas that required additional manpower, giving the factory a greater flexibility during production peaks.

Greif-Velox, the packaging machine manufacturer, has developed a patented solution called ‘PureVacSpout’ to eliminate dust residues on filling spouts, preventing contamination of valve bags or pallets.
After each filling operation in valve bag filling systems and the removal of the filled bag, excess product often remains on the filling spout. This product residue can lead to contamination, resulting in high cleaning and complaint costs as well as reputational damage. The new ‘PureVacSpout’ spout aspiration technology from Greif-Velox offers a solution to this problem: A suction mechanism moving over the filling spout ensures thorough cleaning each time.
Mobility for enhanced cleanliness
Thanks to the system’s mobility, the suction occurs directly at the filling spout, keeping it completely clean, as well as preventing the bags from getting contaminated. The suction moves over the filling spout after the bag filling process has been completed without disrupting the overall filling operation. This ensures that only clean bags are palletised, and the spout is pneumatically cleaned for the next filling. This patented principle is compatible with vacuum packers like the Greif-Velox VeloVac.
High work and product safety without product loss
The spout aspiration technology not only reduces cleaning costs by capturing escaping dust, but also protects workers by removing potentially harmful particles from the work environment.

Mitsubishi Electric has helped to deliver a step-change in productivity, uptime and hygiene for a leading manufacturer of vibratory conveyors to the food industry.
In partnership with Clarke Controls, the company has developed a new control system for conveyor manufacturer VCSP to use on its portfolio of material handling systems for delicate foods such as poultry, salads and snacks.
The revised control system, which has helped reduce configuration time between product runs from 60 to 15 minutes, features a Mitsubishi Electric GOT 2000 HMI with VNC remote access option.
With an IP67 rating and touchscreen interface, the new design allows operators to reconfigure the conveyor quickly and easily without repeatedly opening the panel. In turn, this reduces the likelihood of material residue entering and
contaminating the panel when the conveyor is reconfigured between product runs. It also prevents the potential for water ingress and subsequent damage to control cards due if the panel is not closed properly.
A core feature of the new control system is the Mitsubishi Electric FX series PLC with analogue I/O functionality. This is used to set the required running vibration frequency to the conveyor
and is incremented by a stroke length of 0.1mm to achieve the controlled, rhythmic flow necessary to effortlessly move produce along the conveyor path.

As expected, the drop in orders in the German component distribution market that has been showing since last year, is now being reflected in declining sales. After -20% in the fourth quarter of 2024, turnover in the first quarter of 2024 fell by 29% to EUR 1.09 billion, compared to the record quarter of Q1/2023. New orders were down by -43% to EUR 640 million, but managed a slight sequential turnaround (compared to Q4/23), which led to a slight improvement in the book-to-bill ratio to 0.59.
It is no coincidence that semiconductors were the area of concern in Q1/24. Sales fell by 30.7% to 713 million euros, while orders
dropped by over 50% to 345 million euros, resulting in a book-to-bill ratio of 0.48. Passive Components did slightly better, with sales down 28% (to 150 million euros) and incoming orders down 42% (99 million euros). Electromechanical components fell by 22% to 145 million euros (new orders: -25% to 127 million euros). In this issue of Industrial Process News, we are pleased to feature Telecetera Ltd as our Field Service Management Company of the Month
Established in 1990 by founders Dan & Cecilia, Telecetera Ltd originally provided early mobile phone billing software, as well as software development services, when 25 years ago, the company released its first IT solution for the mobile workforce management and field service software sectors.
Today, the Telecetera team, that is made up of 10 members of staff, carry great depth of experience that comes unrivalled in the telecoms industry. From software engineers to customer service staff, the team stay focussed and professional, ensuring its client’s operations and setups are connected with ease.
“Our software replaces paper forms, spreadsheets, and legacy software with modern Enterprise Applications and Mobile Apps. Our Connect Software Product, for example, is used by 100’s of clients daily, to schedule and track jobs that mobile operatives work on,” stated Steven Borwell-Fox, Managing Director.
The Connect Product is used in many different industries across various professions including property maintenance teams, facility managers, housing associations, telecoms installers, retail maintenance teams, air conditioning engineers, emergency call-out contractors, and other trades.
Connect is a fantastic and easy way to assign jobs across your workforce team, as well as sync tasks and updates across your team. Between the Scheduler and the Mobile App, your team can receive job data updates in real-time.
The product itself is clean and simple to use, with an easy-tonavigate User Interface that boasts modern technologies. Gone are the days of mass loads of paperwork, as Connect allows you to run paperless maintenance and service operation, so you’ll be happy to find no forms or spreadsheets here!
The powerful and intelligent Job Scheduling engine feature helps you to get the right operative with the right skills and materials, at the correct time to the right property or site. What’s more, with its fast Routing – that works with Microsoft Azure Maps, you can plan your workload to reduce time spent on the road. Simply select a number of operatives and a list of jobs, and AI will automatically schedule the jobs for you.
For projects, you can also group jobs and teams together, helping you to keep a close eye
and control on costs, parts and materials used. The Telecetera team understand how hard it is when you’re juggling spreadsheets and asset data whilst trying to manage timelines, which is why Connect was designed to support all these needs and more. Connect allows you to go paperless and to be more efficient for your customers.
All updates from ConnectManager are immediately synchronised to the Mobile App that operatives use which is called ConnectMobile.
ConnectMobile – is part of the Connect mobile workforce management solution, and includes software that displays essential job information to mobile operatives who can also attach photos of the job and assets when recording their time on-site. The App also allows operatives to raise new jobs if necessary, and uses the Scheduler tool to update data and sync information back to managers.
“The Connect product also has ‘Open APIs,’ which means we can interface with third-party product vendors and vice versa, with no vendor lock-ins. Also, we do not enforce a minimum contract term on customers,
so clients are able to move to an alternative platform if they outgrow our product or they are acquired by another organisation with a different solution. Communications and collaboration are two of our core values – we answer the phone, work in the office full-time, and respond to ideas and suggestions from clients about how the product could be improved,” added Steven.
To strengthen its team, Telecetera hired two new software developers in November last year, as well as a Marketing Apprentice in January, and a Software Apprentice in February. Another change coming this year for Telecetera will see them working towards migrating clients from the old Connect Enterprise product to the Connect Cloud version that was launched in 2023.
“We’re really excited because it’s a completely new product, using the latest technology, and runs entirely in Microsoft Azure. We will also be looking to integrate both Office365 and Xero too. This means it’s scalable and runs more reliably and securely than if we hosted it on-premises,” stated Steven.
Another project that Steven is keen to highlight is that Telecetera has just created a mobile app for a client that allows UK citizens to report abandoned supermarket trolleys. “These trolleys are then collected by teams, who clean and repair them, and deliver them back to the retailers. I am passionate about the environment, so this project really hits the spot regarding purpose and environmental impact,” he added.
It’s inspiring to see a company whose mission is to ‘Digitise and Secure Businesses’ extend beyond its core purpose to contribute to a greener, more sustainable world. This simple yet groundbreaking initiative is one we’re eager to follow in the coming months.

Inventors of a revolutionary new highspeed mould-making technology, which uses a pin tool with 28,000 pins to create a mould in around twenty minutes, have announced they will be unveiling it to the world for the first time on November 19th at Formnext in Frankfurt, Germany.
The PolyMorphic 28k consists of the pin tool plus a forming machine into which the pin tool is inserted. A 3D CAD model of the mould to be formed is used to move the pins into position.
The positioning of the pins is accurate to within 0.1mm.
The product, designed by Fyous in Sheffield, England, has been under development for the last five years.
Once locked into position the pins can withstand six tonnes of pressure, making them perfect for use in vacuum forming, composite layup, composite bonding, workholding, and moulding polyurethane (PU) products.
This ‘PolyMorphicTM moulding’ process takes around twenty minutes, which is about fourteen times faster that 3D
printing for an equivalent sized part.
Critically, once the pin tool has been used it can be reinserted into the forming machine to create a new mould shape with zero waste. There is no need to store the mould, just the 3D CAD model.
This new technology is set to revolutionise the world of prototyping, customisable production and complex tool holding.
