Over 40,000 attendees flocked to the NEC for LAMMA 2025 from 15th-16th January 2025, marking the highest attendance record in the show’s 40+ year history. LAMMA Show is the UK’s foremost event for agricultural machinery, technology, and equipment innovation. As the leading platform for the farming community, LAMMA offers an unmatched opportunity to explore a dynamic showcase of over 600 exhibitors, unveiling the latest in tractors, combines, arable, and grassland machinery. LAMMA is the showpiece for the agricultural equipment and services sector, the halls of the NEC are filled with agricultural equipment polished within an inch of their lives, and as clean as they ever will be. The show covers everything and every sector of agriculture. Non farmers will look at some of the equipment and thank goodness they never came upon it on the road. They will never complain about being stuck behind a commonplace tractor ever again.
There was plenty of new and exciting kit on show, including the Massey Ferguson 5M tractor series, New Holland T5 Dual Command, McHale F5 fixed chamber roller balers, JCB TM280S loader and a new generation of Case IH Farmall C tractors, all making their UK debut in January. As farmers face rising costs, labour shortages, and environmental challenges, innovative solutions are essential. Nofence, the world’s first commercially available virtual fencing system, offers a cost-effective, sustainable, and animalfriendly approach to livestock management. Scalable for both small crofts and commercial farms, it eliminates the need for physical fences, making grazing management more efficient.
Nofence collars use GPS and cellular networks to communicate with the system’s app, enabling real-time tracking and remote boundary adjustments. Farmers can create, modify, or remove virtual fences directly from their phones.
The Nofence app is central to this innovation. Software Developer Malin Kildal highlights its user-friendly design, “We made it as accessible as possible for farmers, helping them to manage livestock efficiently, with tools like heat mapping and grazing data, all from the palm of their hand.”
The system relies on acoustic warnings and a mild electric pulse — half the intensity of a traditional electric fence — to guide animals away from the defined boundaries. Research shows livestock quickly adapt to audio cues, reducing the need for pulses – with the acoustic warning versus electric pulse ratio being 96%.
Animal welfare is a core priority. Nofence eliminates risks associated with traditional fences, such as entanglement and injury, while allowing livestock to roam freely and naturally with minimal stress.
Farmers receive alerts if an animal hasn’t moved in four hours, indicating possible illness or entrapment. If an animal crosses the virtual boundary, they are notified and can track it, ensuring its safe return without additional warnings or pulses.
By allowing real-time monitoring and remote management, Nofence reduces labour and feed costs. Farmers can adjust grazing areas from anywhere — even while on vacation. Malin notes, “You see that their (the farmers’) mind is at ease
If a tractor or other farm equipment has is equipped with a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system (as most modern diesel engines are) then you will be using Adblue. SCRs use Adblue to reduce harmful nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, helping to meet stricter Euro 6, and beyond, emission standards and improve air quality.
expensive, is the Adblue system getting blocked by Crystallisation.
Crystallisation in the AdBlue system happens when the exhaust gases are not hot enough to react properly with AdBlue. The AdBlue does not completely turn into ammonia. When this happens, cyanuric crystals can form which can contaminate the system and block the AdBlue injector, eventually affecting the running of the vehicle.
AdBlue is a diesel exhaust fluid, a solution of urea and de-ionized water that is injected into the exhaust system, upstream of the SCR, of diesel vehicles. Here the chemical reaction converts NOx into nitrogen and water reducing pollution and meeting stricter emission standards. AdBlue is essential to the SCR System.
Adblue issues
There are a few issues that effect Adblue systems. The most common, and potentially
Can the agricultural environment lead to crystallisation?
Yes, agricultural conditions can contribute to the crystallisation of AdBlue, which can cause issues for farmers. There are some factors related to agricultural environments that can increase the likelihood of AdBlue crystallizing or becoming ineffective:
Temperature variations
Cold Weather: AdBlue begins to freeze at temperatures below around -11°C (12°F). In many agricultural settings, especially during colder months, the temperature can drop significantly. If AdBlue is stored or used in cold conditions without proper precautions, it can crystallise and block the system.
Fluctuating Temperatures, going from very cold to warm. This can cause the AdBlue to freeze
just by knowing where their animals are, they can go on vacation if it’s just a week a year. They can do that now with Nofence.”
The flexibility of virtual fencing allows farmers to rotate grazing areas, opening up previously inaccessible land, improving soil health, preventing overgrazing and reducing erosion. With Nofence, farmers gain efficiency, adaptability, and peace of mind – supporting environmentally friendly practices and transforming livestock management for a more sustainable future.

and thaw repeatedly, potentially leading to the crystallisation of urea.
Frequent refills
Frequent exposure to air when farmers frequently open the AdBlue tank to refill it, there’s a risk that the additive could come into contact with moisture in the air. Humid or damp conditions can increase the likelihood of crystallisation.
The solution (and prevention) of Adblue crystallisation
Ceroil AdBlue Injector Cleaner contains a formula specially developed to clean dirty urea injectors and SCR catalysts. This prevents and removes crystallisation, reducing performance loss. It will clean and prevent damaging crystallisation throughout the whole AdBlue and SCR system.
Periodic use is recommended as a preventive measure against breakdowns.
It is available from Powerflow Limited on: https://bgprod.co.uk/products/pour-inproducts/fuel-system/adblue-injector-cleaner
Available in 3 sizes – The 100ml bottle treats up to 40 litres of AdBlue/500ml bottle treats up to 200 litres of AdBlue/5 litre bottle treats up 2,000 litres of AdBlue.

s World Green Building Week draws to a close, it's imperative to reflect on the industry's progress and the challenges that lie ahead. The shift towards sustainable construction is driven by a growing awareness of the urgent need to address climate change and reduce our environmental impact.
However, sustainable construction is more than just building green infrastructure. It's about designing, constructing, and operating buildings in a way that minimises their environmental impact throughout their entire lifecycle. This requires a holistic approach that considers factors such as materials sourcing, energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste management. One of the key challenges facing the industry is the need to balance sustainability with affordability. While sustainable building materials and technologies can sometimes have higher upfront costs, their long-term benefits, such as reduced energy consumption and lower maintenance expenses, can offset these initial investments and cannot be disputed.
At Duraproducts, we believe Lifecycle Assessments (LCAs) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are essential tools for our
sustainability journey. Since receiving these certifications in 2023, we've been able to expand our business further into Europe, thanks to the standardised assessment of our products' environmental performance and impacts throughout their lifecycle. It's also been encouraging to see a growing demand from architects, engineers, and designers for EPDs and LCAs, as they too recognise the importance of measuring and mitigating the whole-life carbon footprint of their projects.
To overcome these challenges and accelerate the transition to sustainable construction, the industry must invest in research and development, promote education and training, and collaborate with stakeholders. Find out more about how Duraproducts contributes to a healthier, safer, and more sustainable built environment here: www.duraproducts.co.uk
The UK-based manufacturer, EnviraBoard, has announced its plans to bring a carbonnegative building board to the construction industry.
Using proven Danish technology (IP acquired) EnviraBoard utilises recycled paper sludge as the raw material for its sustainable building boards, which are aptly named ‘EnviraBoards’. This paper sludge, which is a secondary waste material that would usually end up in landfill or incineration, is free from toxins and is environmentally safe.
The EnviraBoard product offers both a solution to the waste disposal challenges in the paper recycling industry, and a new, sustainable, and totally circular alternative to the widely used plasterboard products – typically made from gypsum, which is not only mined, but environmentally challenging and requires specialist recycling solutions.
The new EnviraBoards demonstrate a net reduction in carbon emission (compared to disposing of the waste) and can be recycled to produce new boards, or simply allowed to biodegrade naturally. They also offer strong acoustic and fireretardant performance, excellent impact resistance, and are flexible, clean, quick and easy to install, handle and finish.

FAM STUMABO introduces the ScaliburTM, a revolutionary potato slicer designed to deliver unmatched gentleness and efficiency. This innovative machine features a patented rotation technology where both the cutting head and the impeller rotate for a controlled and gentle cutting process.
Whereas potatoes were previously pushed against a static knife, the ScaliburTM features a rotating blade that slices through the potato at a lower speed. This, combined with the independent centrifugal force of the impeller, minimises impact damage to the potato’s cell structure. This results in less starch and scrap loss and thus less fryer contamination. The slicer is equipped with powerful dual stainless-steel motors and the patented Smart Slicing system allows differential speed adjustments with varying gravities. The reduced impact on blades and segments from foreign objects results in lower parts consumption and repair costs.
The slicer is widely used in potato chip production, but also delivers perfect results in the production of vegetable chips from carrots, beetroot, sweet potatoes, taro, parsnip, etc. Supplied with a full range of interchangeable cutting heads, ScaliburTM allows for different types of cuts to be produced: flat, crinkle or V-cut slices or sticks in many dimensions.

Smith Bros at RTX 2024
RTX 2024 proved to be a huge success for Smith Bros Services Ltd. It was the first time we have attended and wished we had done it sooner.
developments that can have major effects on your industry as a whole.
While you’re sales and marketing team focuses on connecting with prospects to make new sales your purchasing manager can connect with new vendors and contractors that can help grow your business. This makes RTX into a two sided opportunity for your business to expand its sales and to expand its supply chain. What we find in the world of business is that it pays to keep your customers close and your competitor’s closer. Exhibiting at RTX allows you to observe what your competitors are doing right and apply their tactics to your own business. Also while your sales team uses RTX show as an opportunity to meet existing customers and connect with perspective ones it pays to spend a moment looking at the other exhibitors to see what they’re differently to you.
One of the big advantages of exhibiting at a trade show like RTX is that it allows you to meet and connect with prospective customers in person instead of communicating with them over the phone or via digital marketing. On the phone you are just another voice-in person you become someone that they know, recognise and want to connect with.
Exhibiting at a trade show like RTX allows you to meet existing customers face to face. While most of today’s business is conducted over the email inbox or phone, face to face meetings are the most effective way to strengthen relationships with both perspective and current customers. When your business attends a major trade show like RTX, it puts itself at the centre of the action. Trade shows are a place for businesses to announce and display their latest innovations and developments, often

So from all at Smith Bros we are already looking forward to attending and meeting existing and potential new customer’s at next year’s RTX show where we expect to experience similar success as achieved at last year’s show.

Our products Safe Drive Systems offers a range of products tailored to meet your specific safety needs. Here are some of our flagship offerings:
PSS TFL 2024 Systems
As one of the first in the UK to have a working radar system, we know what makes a great DVS PSS system. Our PSS Systems use radar and camera technology to monitor the blind spots and detect potential collisions with VRU’s. The system alerts the driver with visual and audible warnings, allowing them to take corrective action promptly. This technology significantly reduces the risk to cyclists and pedestrians on London’s streets.
GPS Warning Alarms
We invented something special at Safe Drive Systems. A multi-function alarm that not only turned itself off over 20mph but that also turned itself off at night. This took this critical function away from the driver to ensure compliance and avoid fines during certain times. Building on from the GPS alarm, we thought, what if we could make a box that could turn any alarm into a GPS controlled one? So that’s what we did. Upgrade a fleet at a fraction of the cost of a new alarm system.
360 Birdseye Camera Systems
For ultimate visibility our 360 birds eye camera systems can be installed with or without DVR recording for the safest view possible whilst driving.
Vehicle Specific Camera Systems and Accessories
From brake light cameras for vans, including our new dual camera versions, to OEM head unit integration leads, Safe Drive Systems Ltd is a one stop shop for all your OEM needs. And we also stock body builder plugs and terminals to make installs a breeze.
Driver Monitoring Systems
Fatigue and distraction are leading causes of accidents. Our Driver Monitoring Systems use cameras to track the driver's attention and alertness levels. If the system detects signs of drowsiness or distraction, it provides alerts to the driver, encouraging them to stay focused on the road.
And much, much more!
From consumables to lighting, handbrake alarms to auto braking systems. We can provide all that you need. And this is just the start. We are developing some exciting new things in 2025 and beyond.
Join us at RTX 2025
At Safe Drive Systems, we believe in building a community of with our customers. By choosing our products, you are not only buying quality products at market leading prices but also contributing to a safer road environment for everyone. The Reprographics Centre purchased the Mimaki CJV150-130 in response to an increasing demand for wide-format print work
Soyang has installed a Mimaki CJV150-130 at the University of Cambridge Estates Division’s Reprographics Centre
The Reprographics Centre, part of the Estates Division at the University of Cambridge, recently purchased a new Mimaki CJV150-130 vinyl printer/cutter from Soyang Hardware to strengthen its offering and allow it to deliver more wide-format printed work.
Due to its ability to print on a wide range of substrates, the new printer will allow the centre to offer a much broader range of services
Located within the historic grounds of the famous university, The Reprographics Centre primarily produces print and photocopies for the central University Divisions and Departments, but also for colleges, students, student societies, private customers and small businesses. It’s offering ranges from basic photocopying and the printing of exam papers to large-format display graphics and signage.
The centre was running an old aqueous printer but in response to demand for more wide-format work such as external signage, as well as other applications including promotional material, it identified the need to invest in a new printer that ran non-water-soluble inks.
After weighing up several options, the centre settled on the Mimaki CJV150130 and approached the team at Soyang Hardware to invest in the new machine. The centre purchased the device in February 2024 and installed it just a few weeks later, with the printer/ cutter up and running by March – in time to help print papers ahead of the busy university exam season.
Despite having only been in place a matter of months, Nik Palmer,
Reprographics Manager for The Reprographics Centre, said the device has already had an impact on operations at the centre, particularly with its delivery of wide-format work.
“It fits in perfectly alongside our previous machine,” Nik said. “Its small footprint, along with the print speed and quality, made it stand out most of all the machines that we looked at.”
“Since the machine was installed in March, we haven’t stopped using it. Demand for wide-format printing is ever increasing and we took delivery of the new Mimaki at just the right time.”
Key features on the Mimaki CJV150-130 include a top printing speed of 56.2sq m/hr and a production speed of 11.1sq m/hr. It can print at resolutions as high as 1,440dpi and has the ability to print and cut at widths of up to 1.36m.
Due to its ability to print on a wide range of substrates, Nik said that it will allow the centre to offer a much broader range of services.
“We can now offer more robust prints and print on a greater variety of media; going forward, we are looking to increase the range of applications that we can produce, including external banners,” Nik said.

ts GmbH, Burgkirchen, a universal service provider for process and factory automation, presents a fully automated packaging system for FOSBs. The system increases efficiency and quality, reduces the error rate and takes the strain off staff.
Preparing wafers for transportation to a semiconductor production facility is a complex process and is subject to the strictest quality criteria. The sensitive products are placed in special containers known as front opening shipping boxes (FOSBs). These must be carefully packed in absolutely leak-proof plastic bags under cleanroom conditions.
“Packaging is always a uniform process, but it has to be absolutely reliable – after all, the contents are sensitive and expensive,” explains
Alfred Pammer, Head of Sales and Marketing at cts. “If it is carried out manually, errors are inevitable simply because of the monotonous nature of the work – and qualified applicants for such a job are rare. It therefore made sense to automate the entire process. And here at cts we have found a very efficient and reliable solution.”
The new autobagging tool combines the packaging machine, test chamber, handling robot and all other components in one complete cell. All packaging and testing processes take place here without manual assistance.

Many industries have traditionally used rigid plastic HDPE containers for everything from chemicals to detergents, in capacities ranging from 500ml to 25-litres. With strong pressure from shareholders, pressure groups, and the public to move away from plastic or at least reduce it, there has never been a more important time to seek an alternative solution.
“Working with Sweden-based packaging innovators Quadpak, Fenton Packaging Solutions is able to offer a wide range of UN-approved sustainable bag-in-box alternatives which are ideally suited for the majority of products in Packing Groups II & III, where rigid plastic containers have been the traditional packaging format of choice,” says Chris Warren, Fenton Packaging Solutions Managing Partner of Sales.
To transport products that qualify as hazardous, it is key to ensure that the packaging a company specifies is UN-approved and suitable for the intended
application. Packaging marked as UN-approved is certified as designed, manufactured and tested to carry liquids or solids that are classified as dangerous materials.
Fenton’s Quadpak Cheertainer bagin-box solutions are UN-approved for the transport of classified dangerous goods such as oils & lubricants, inks, industrial coatings and detergents and the design allows 99.9% dispensing of liquid products, without surging or glugging, dramatically reducing waste.

Eurowings has been awarded the coveted fourstar seal of approval by Skytrax, the British consultancy specialising in aviation. The German airline is thus increasingly setting itself apart from competitors in the low-cost airline market segment such as Ryanair and Wizz Air, which each have a three-star rating from Skytrax. For Eurowings, the award is the most visible evidence to date of its successful reorientation from a former regional lowcost carrier to a value airline for Europe.
The second largest German airline after Lufthansa has not only invested massively in the renewal of its Airbus fleet (including the purchase of 13 brandnew A320neo and A321neo with a volume of 1.5 billion dollars), but has also consistently improved products and services on board and on the ground: lounge access for business and status customers, award miles with Europe’s largest loyalty programme Miles & More, the free middle seat starting at ten euros or flexible rebooking options up to 40 minutes before departure are now unique selling points in the Eurowings market segment. The company’s successful economic turnaround is fueling further investment in products and services.
The Skytrax testers travel with a customer’s perspective. For their judgement, they evaluate the service of the respective airline comprehensively: in up to 800 areas on the ground and in the air. This includes in-flight service, seating comfort, catering, security measures, in-flight entertainment, duty-free offers and other services.
Andrew Leech, managing director of The Kennet Crayfish Company, said, “We are absolutely beyond thrilled with this nomination. The team has worked very hard since Signal crayfish were declared

AI companies continued to dominate the global investment landscape in 2024, receiving almost a third of global venture funding – more than any other sector. The total AI investment figure, measured at over $100 billion, was higher than any other year in the past decade.
According to Victor Basta, Managing Partner at Artis Partners, the sell-side M&A and growth financing specialists for technology companies, founders that understand how to cultivate a close network of buyers and position themselves to potential acquirers stand to benefit from bumper AI valuations.
Basta said, “2024 was a landmark year for AI investment, with the rise of large language models (LLMs) and GenAI triggering a wave of new companies and a mass injection of capital. A second phase is on the horizon, as large companies look to leverage AI within their organisations at scale. Achieving this integration requires qualified software partners, something that we’re seeing sparingly despite the record AI funding to date.
“So far investment has been divided between two key areas. The first is infrastructure, with unprecedented computing
power and data centre capacity required to continue scaling. The other is applications, where growth stage companies are creating applications on top of evolving LLMs.
“This second group, in sectors as diverse as managing development processes and financial analysis, have all innovated at record speed to enable AI to be used across the spectrum of business requirements. This mirrors the way the internet spawned a new generation of vendors, many of which have gone on to become some of the largest companies in the world today.”

Recent research from Make UK has identified a lack of understanding as the primary barrier to AI deployment for UK manufacturers. The ‘Future Factories Powered by AI’ report revealed that only 16% of firms view themselves as ‘knowledgeable’ on the subject, with just a third implementing AI in their manufacturing operations.
Following the longawaited update on the UK’s AI Action plan in January, see the below comment from Sam Ward, Head of AI at Enate, on what this means for the tech sector and for the country as we move forward towards an AI-powered future.
Sam Ward, Head of AI at Enate, comments, “Keir Starmer’s commitment to integrating AI into the UK’s future is a positive step, especially for sectors like planning and building consents, which are burdened by bureaucracy. However, such changes should be made regardless of AI’s role, as they hold merit independently. The inclusion of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) is particularly encouraging, signalling the need for a more energy-efficient nation to support AI initiatives.
“With AI’s potential in mind, the country needs stronger infrastructure, but there’s a significant challenge in unifying and normalising core data. For example, the National Data Library proposal is a promising step toward improving data accessibility, but the fragmented state of national data, especially within the NHS, remains a pressing issue. Legacy systems need significant upgrades to truly unlock value. While the 50 recommendations are commendable, addressing data and system integration must be prioritised as the first step in creating a future-ready AI framework.”

According to Samppa Lahtinen, Senior Industry Solutions Manager at M-Files, manufacturers who are unsure of how to best utilise AI should focus on steady integration, rather than complex and multi-layered projects.
“In order to do so, it’s crucial to consider whether the building blocks are in place to deliver an effective AI strategy. This mainly entails correctly structuring the data that AI tools will rely upon to produce accurate results. It’s important to remember that steps we take make employees’ lives easier; such as auditing files to ensure they’re easy to navigate, which will also have a positive effect on the performance of AI and AI agents.
Lahtinen said, “Despite the fact that there is a myriad of opportunities to reap the benefits of AI in manufacturing, the sector is still lagging behind when it comes to the adoption of this technology. Before pursuing a total overhaul of their operations, firms struggling to formulate a clear pathway to mass AI integration should first concentrate on identifying tools that can be implemented quickly and simply.
“Manufacturers could begin by considering how AI can improve their methods for installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery. This technology can provide recommendations specific to a piece of equipment that enable staff to fix faults efficiently. As a result, manufacturers can benefit from reduced downtime as employees are empowered to solve technical issues without external assistance.”

The landscape of wealth in the UK is evolving rapidly, with women playing an increasingly prominent role. Women now comprise about 46% of Britain’s millionaires, growing by 11% annually, according to Reuters. With 25 female billionaires in the UK & more women advancing into senior roles, their financial influence is rising. However, despite this increasing clout, investment in real estate debt remains an under-explored avenue for many women. Indeed, less than a third of real estate investors are women according to online recruitment firm, Zippia, despite the fact that they represent 39% of global employment in the sector (according to McKinsey & Co).
Looking at real estate more specifically, investing in real estate debt opportunities offers distinct advantages in terms of capital preservation and growth. With potentially more efficient returns compared to stocks or shares and without the burdens of property management, investment in real estate debt is a compelling opportunity.
Investment in property debt strategies, particularly through investment platforms, offers flexibility that suits women juggling careers, family, and personal goals. For instance, the ASK model allows investors to choose opportunities aligning with their risk appetite, time availability, and financial goals. This model provides control over investment choices, offering empowerment often missing in traditional investment vehicles.
In conclusion, the real estate debt market is a relatively unknown asset class often assumed to be reserved for institutional investors not individuals, but it offers a unique blend of control, flexibility, and efficiency that resonates with individual investors. As women’s financial power continues to rise, so should their presence in this market.

To celebrate Ada Lovelace Day, five young women engineers have been announced as finalists for the Institution of Engineering and Technology’s (IET) Young Woman Engineer of the Year Awards 2024.
These prestigious engineering industry awards celebrate women working in modern engineering – and aim to help change the perception that engineering is predominantly a career for men by banishing outdated engineering stereotypes of hard hats and dirty overalls.
Alexia Williams (25) (pictured), Erin Lowe (19), Marisa Kurimbokus (34), Natalie Parker (30) & Salma Al Arefi (33) have all been shortlisted for awards.
As well as highlighting engineering talent, the IET Young Woman Engineer of the Year Awards seek to find role models who can help address the UK science and engineering skills crisis by promoting
engineering careers to more girls and women. Just 15.7% of those working in engineering occupations are women (source: Engineering UK).
2023 Young Woman Engineer of the Year, Titi Oliyide, said, “It has been a huge privilege to be the IET’s Young Woman Engineer of the Year and to be a role model to the engineers of tomorrow, showcasing engineering excellence and the immense impact that engineering has in creating a more sustainable and safer world for us all. I am thoroughly enjoying and appreciate the platform that the award has given me; I’ve been able to work closely with the IET on various exciting opportunities that aim to encourage and retain diversity within engineering, as well as inspire curiosity about engineering careers in the next generation.”

Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, Patron of the WISE (Women into Science and Engineering) Campaign, joined the organisation to meet leading women from the Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) sector to champion inclusive workplaces for women – and to celebrate 40 years of WISE moving the dial towards gender parity in the sector.
Taking place at IET London, Savoy Place, at WISE’s annual conference, Her Royal Highness took part in a photo with leading women across the STEM industry and EDI champions from the likes of Amazon, AtkinsRéalis, AstraZeneca, BAE Systems, Fluor, Jaguar Land Rover and Natwest. She met with WISE members and conference exhibitors and spoke with attendees on the history of the organisation and its mission to pioneer gender equity in STEM.
The high-profile event looked at how organisations and leaders can develop an inclusive environment
for women to thrive at work, ultimately enabling businesses to move closer to gender parity in the sector. WISE and expert speakers from the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) field explored four key areas that directly contribute to this goal: Allyship, Progression, Leadership and Programmes.
With 26% of women making up the current STEM workforce this remains the biggest and largest untapped talent pool for engineering, science and technology – and as the engineering skills deficit widens, WISE wants to increase the pace of change. During the conference, WISE launched its new Gender Equity Framework, which supports organisations in identifying areas of improvement and enables them to form a solid plan to start or improve their EDI journey.

Poorindoor air quality contributes to respiratory and allergy problems. Inadequate ventilation creates ideal conditions for condensation and mould growth. Vectaire’s MVHRs help tackle these problems. Incorporating two fans, they deliver low-level continuous ventilation – extracting stale air from wet rooms, and bringing in air from outside. The two, separated airflows pass through a heat
exchanger, recovering heat from outgoing air and filtering it before transferring it to the incoming, fresh air supply. It’s then ducted to the living areas for a comfortable environment.
The Midis, upright WHHRs, for loft or cupboard installation, are for residential properties up to 170m2 They recover up to 94% of the heat from extracted air and have variable choice of trickle, boost and purge speeds, with summer bypass and integral frost stat and are available with or without LCD and humidistat. The ‘AT’ versions (sound tested by BRE) operate really quietly (sound levels down to <5dBA). There are two other models in this range – the Maxi for areas up to 250m2 and the Maxi Plus for areas up to 400m2

The new IP67 Ethernet switch from Wieland Electric enables reliable operation even under the most adverse environmental conditions
Modular and flexible machine concepts are growing rapidly in importance. As this happens, more and more automation parts are being connected in a way that is not centralised. This also applies to IP switches, which are no longer only mounted in the control cabinet, but also directly onto the machine. To ensure that network components operate reliably under these conditions, the devices must meet stringent specifications as they are directly exposed to potentially harmful influences such as dust, moisture, and electromagnetic radiation. Wieland Electric offers a suitable solution to this with its new IP67 switch.
The wienet IP-SWITCH UMS 8-WM12 is equipped with a robust metal housing and can therefore be used under the most adverse environmental conditions. Splashed water, contamination and high temperatures up to 75°C are handled without any problems. In addition, the switch complies with the EN 50155 standard, making it suitable for the
harsh requirements of railroad applications. Fluctuations and interruptions in the power supply are tolerated, as are vibrations, shocks and high relative humidity. The compact device is easy to maintain and features a long service life and high electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
The new Wieland Electric IP67 ethernet switch’s plug-andplay feature allows for quick commissioning even without programming experience. Eight M12 Fast Ethernet ports allow sensors and actuators to be connected in a stable and consistent way which contributes to low failure rates. Its compatibility with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) within the IEC 61131-2 framework also ensures reliable network operation with the lowest possible failure rate.
