What about their hurts, their pains, their frustrations, their losses, their trials, lost dreams, broken promises, failures….. Growing up, I can remember hearing men say to other men, that, "real men" don’t cry.

I’ve always wondered who came up with this rule for men? "Don’t cry, it makes you look weak." "Don’t cry, it’s what women do."

"Don’t cry, there’s no strength in that." "DON’T CRY, YOU’RE A MAN!" John 11:35 Jesus wept!

The strongest and most powerful man known in the history of men wept! He didn’t just let tears flow from His eyes and down His cheeks, but He wept, sorely at the fate before Him. Why are our men not given this same liberty?

My denouncement was indeed a process since it took a while for me to grasp the severity of what The Lord was saying and showing me.

As I mentioned earlier, it was a number of warnings I received over the course of time. I knew in my heart there were issues with Delta but I would go back and forth, I also didn’t understand I needed to denounce, not just pull away and be inactive.

In 2016 is when things started to hit home that I had to really come out of Delta. I was going through several things that year which removed some distractions and put me in a posture of sitting still before God. From October 2016 to May 2017, I had a series of continual dreams, as well as a vision.

The vision took place while I was driving on a downtown expressway in the city I resided.

The dreams, the vision, along with thinking back to other warnings that took place years before, put reverential fear in me and I finally broke down in full repentance.

2 Peter 3:9 is one of my favorites Scriptures because that Word definitely applies to the process of me coming out of Delta. Jesus was patient with me for 10 years and continued to warn me even when I wasn’t obeying, so that I would not perish and come to repentance.

He gave me a glimpse of His righteous judgement for being in Delta based on the rituals, the oaths, the idolatry, the blasphemy, etc., before it was too late. It was the wake-up call I needed. I felt both His anger AND His hurt, because it is about HIM and what HE says. We make it about us because of pride loving the world as mentioned in 1 John 2:15-16, but not about us.

After spending a full night crying out in repentance and re-dedicating my life to Jesus, He directed me to burn the certificate of membership for Delta. I cut up and threw out all paraphernalia I had, and eventually I withdrew from Delta officially in writing. It took over six months to receive the official notice of withdrawal that Delta sends when you withdraw. I cried in thankfulness and excitement when the notice finally came in the mail; it arrived on my birthday, such a powerful statement spiritually.

Revelation 12:11 says, “We overcome the enemy by the Blood of The Lamb and by the word of our testimony.” I share my story in hope that a seed is planted. There are those who claim denouncing needs to be private, but joining these organizations are very much public, so why would denouncing need to be private? This fallen world encourages people to be loud and proud when it comes to things of Satan, but when it comes to truth of Jesus, the world says be quiet. That is an anti-Christ spirit wanting to suppress the truth. I am very public and vocal because The Lord reminded me how I had no issue "going hard" for Delta, so I could not slack about His Truth, which sets the captives free. So for anyone who is struggling with telling people you have come out of a secret society/BGLO, be bold and share your testimony, there is someone who needs to hear it. Moreover, after denouncing, The Lord gave me the vision of a ministry on this subject, it’s called Out from Among Them Ministries.

Myself, and others who denounced comprise this ministry to share truth and help and support those led to denounce. If you know The Lord is dealing with you about being in a sorority or any other secret society, please feel free to reach out; you are not alone. The Lord is preparing His Bride because it is the last days, many are denouncing with an urgency to get with right with Jesus in every aspect of their lives.

The condition and state of the modern church alerts us that our Lord’s return is swiftly upon us. Throughout the early apostles’ epistles, deception is a recurrent theme which warns the reader to be on high alert for false teachers and false doctrine. Their writings are the same sentiments of the Lord Jesus Christ who begins his sermon on eschatology in Matthew 24 with, “Let no man deceive you.”

Throughout the history of the church, the apostles words have rang true and they continue to ring true today.

As a Pentecostal, I cannot turn a blind eye to the pervading misuse of gifts and embrace of New Age ideologies that have crept into the church. Some of these issues are not new and have been around for some time.

Pentecostalism has had its fair share of criticisms; some can be deemed invalid while others could stand to be addressed.

The birth of today’s Pentecostal movement began at the Azusa Street Revival. This world renowned modern revival, attracted thousands of adherents around the world but was also met with scrutiny.

Not all were pleased with the way in which the revival was structured and it was occasionally referred to as overtly emotional.

While these criticisms were based on a matter of worship style, there was a doctrinal issue that was far more concerning. Harsh exclusivity tainted the THE ELECT Azusa Street Mission.

It can be said that no movement will be met without scrutiny. Some doctrinal stances will be refuted; furthermore, when doctrinal positions began to move outside of the Scripture to suggest elitism or exclusivity, they will be met with resistance. There were many theologians and denominations who did not embrace the Azusa Street movement. One writer gave his account of theologians’ of that time stance on Pentecostalism: Pentecostals were listed by some theologians as a false cult, along with Jehovah’s Witnesses and Christian Scientists. The German Lutheran Church issued a “Berlin Declaration,” stating that the power exhibited by Pentecostals was from below, not from above. Because many of them were from a social class

The occasional issues within the movement were not daunting enough to surmise that the entire movement was inspired by satanic or evil spirits. The Azusa Street revival paved the way for a resurgence of spiritual gifts and their acceptance within the body of Christ. Not only that, this revival broke down racial barriers and forged integration within a nation filled with social injustice.

While it is safe to say that every movement has its share of doctrinal issues that must be addressed, the current climate of the modern charismatic movement is met with grave problems.

The charismatic church has been inundated with New Age teachings and philosophies as well as questionable spiritual experiences.

Many of the aforementioned teachings have their roots in Gnosticism and Eastern mysticism. Gnostic teachings have pestered the church since its inception; they have never left and camouflage in counterfeit doctrines that appear to be new revelation. Numerous articles have been written on this topic to address the concern of mysticism and New Age practices infiltrating the modern, charismatic and Pentecostal church.

Charisma News published an article by Rosilind Jukic in which she urged her readers to stay away from transcendental meditation and yoga. The writer gave insight to the differences between the meditative practices occurring within the church today and the meditation in which the Bible infers. Jukic stated, “The meditation God was talking about in Joshua 1:8 differs greatly from Eastern meditation. In fact, I’ll go so far as to say that participating in any form of meditation apart from biblical meditation is opening the door wide to the enemy.

Jukic went on to say: Throughout the Bible, God calls himself "jealous." He has commanded us to keep our worship pure and undefiled by the worship of other gods. You may argue, But I'm not using these other forms of meditation for worship." However, as Christians, whatever we do in our life should be to glorify God, and if anything we are doing does not glorify God—but, in fact, is used to glorify another god—we should immediately reject it and eliminate it from our lives. This includes yoga, which many Christians engage in as a stress-relieving form of exercise. When you examine its origins and meaning, you can easily see why yoga has no place in the life of the believer.

However, like any other Christian discipline, biblical meditation should be part of our daily practice: speaking the Word, muttering it to ourselves, mulling over it and imagining how our lives should fit in its context. This takes the Word to a much deeper level than reading, studying, praying and even

memorizing as we contemplate deeply what each passage actually means for us personally and speaking it over and over to ourselves.

The issue with transcendental meditation and yoga is that these practices are pagan and they lead the participant to a high possibility of even greater deception (ie. false visions and dreams, prophecies, and improper interpretation of Scripture) as well as demonic possession.

Meditation and yoga are not the only erroneous practices that some charismatic and Pentecostal churches have begun to adopt. In recent years, the health, wealth, and prosperity message has infiltrated the church leaving many under the impression that all they have to do is “name it and claim it,” and they will be showered with God’s gifts of healing and financial blessings.

This doctrine is more widely called the Word of Faith movement. Dr. Brian Huffling clearly articulated within an article for the Southern Evangelical Seminary and Bible College outlining why he left the Word of Faith Movement. He compared the movement’s doctrine with Mormonism. He concluded that positive confession, health and wealth teaching in general are not bad, but it does not compare with the heresies of the other teachings as it pertains to the Godhead

and who believers are in relationship to God. 5 What Huffling alludes to is the Word of Faith’s teaching that we are little gods. Kenneth Copeland is recorded saying, “When God says I AM, I say I am too.”

Some may believe this doctrine is only an evangelical problem, but it is not, this issue is pervading Christianity as a whole. Along with the aforesaid doctrinal issues, the technique of positive confession, positive thinking and inner healing are also New Age philosophies that have plagued the church.

These teachings are dangerous because they take the principle of God’s response to prayer and His ability to speak things into existence as a gift that we have as well.

This doctrine cripples and handicaps the church in the sense that it does not teach one how to handle times of suffering and persecution. One believes that as long as they can think it, it shall be.

If they speak it into the atmosphere, their life will be changed.

How dangerous this can potentially be to the new convert when they begin to experience pain and suffering! Many of these doctrines were adopted with right intentions but the teachers had a wrong understanding of biblical principles.

However, that is not always the case. As Jude and Peter warned us, some of these teachers have crept in unawares with pernicious doctrines seeking to destroy the tentacles of the faith.

These are charlatans who must be exposed that they may not cause further damage in the church.

So how do we ensure we are adhering to sound doctrine? In our ever changing church climate, we must 1. Be on guard for teachings that could

The wise have nothing to do with foolishness. God has revealed much through this short examination of this text, my encouragement for our T.E.L. Mag readers, is to become a product of wisdom, allow wisdom to become a part of your nature. If you lack wisdom, simply ask the Lord for it.

Wisdom can change how you see things, hear things, and even speak things.

OES/Zeta Renunciation Testimony By- Illana Watts

I BECAME

an

Eastern Star November of 2009, and a Zeta February 2011. I remember one

night, attending a church service with a friend, and I was still a "newbie" in OES (Order of the Eastern Star). I had my OES handbag with me, and this older lady approached me. She had noticed my bag, and she was sharing how she was formerly an Eastern Star, but had renounced it, along with telling me how demonic it is. I looked at her crazy in my head, but being respectful outwardly. I just shook it off, not realizing, at that time, God had used her to plant the seed toward my deliverance and renunciation.

So, as time went on, I knew I wanted to join a sorority. My mother is a Delta, and I was hoping that I would have, “made line,” even as a legacy in undergrad, but I, along with other ladies were wrongfully denied. What I did not realize was that God had spared us! I was disappointed, but moved on. My aunt is a Zeta, and is highly respected in the local chapter back home and statewide. Around 2010, I had expressed my interest to one of the chapter members, and I honestly, cannot remember the conversation from there.

February 2011, I, along with six or seven other women crossed Zeta graduate chapter. I cannot remember the process or anything (thank God,) but I was excited that I had finally become a member of a sorority.

I did not realize it then, but I was battling rejection, low self esteem, and wanting to belong. I knew that I had never fit in (from childhood,) no matter how I tried to force myself, or make myself friendly to others. That was the real reason why I wanted to join a sorority. Later that year, August 14, 2011, I relocated down South, but I knew that I had no desire to become financially active again in either organization. I even prayed and told God that I don’t want my future husband to be a Mason or in a fraternity!

So around early part of 2013, I had attended a graduate chapter meeting that a Zeta had invited me to, in hopes to, “reclaim” me. The meeting was okay. I enjoyed the food, but I had pretty much made up in my mind that I wasn't going to become financially active again. Later that year, I cannot recall how it happened, all I remember was that I was in my bedroom in my apartment, and the next thing I know, I just started throwing all of my Eastern Star paraphernalia in the trash.

Shirts, certificate, key chains, you name it, it was in the garbage! I immediately got on my face and REPENTED, while in tears and renouncing the covenant that I had made with that demonic organization!

After I let the Lord deal with me, I was relieved and delivered! I had shared my testimony on Facebook with the scripture that the Lord gave me, and the backlash was REAL!

I stood my ground, and two women of God even defended me! Many of the former chapter members ceased communication with me, and some even unfriended me. It was well and I kept moving forward! Fast forward to that next year, 2015, I had connected with this woman of God on Facebook, and she ended up finding out that I was a Zeta, and my mom was a Delta. She inbox me, and very rudely stated how demonic it was and that she was going to “pray” for me and blocked me and my mom!

Now who does that?

I was hurt, but allowed the Lord to do His thing, and later that

year, I renounced Zeta, and threw away EVERYTHING! The Bible says, “So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase” (1 Corinthians 3:7.)

God has used different ones to plant, water, and He has gotten the increase! Very few know to this day that I have renounced Zeta, but I can honestly say, that it is a RELIEF!

People fail to realize the demonic portals that they open up once those covenant vows have been made, and demonic oaths taken. I truly thank God for removing the scales, and setting me FREE!

Should Christian Women Be Eastern Stars?

By- Clarissa Rhinehart So the question is, should CHRISTIAN WOMEN BECOME EASTERN STARS? My response to that question, would be a DOUBLE-NEGATIVE, ABSOLUTELY NOT! Deception comes in so many forms and sometimes the things that one may not see as being a danger to their walk with the Lord, ACTUALLY IS! The Eastern Star is an organization that has been WRAPPED IN MYSTERY. There is a hidden message behind the RAINBOW GIRLS and a hidden meaning behind the LAMBSKIN APRON. Truth be told, The Order of the EASTERN STAR IS MODELED AFTER FREEMASONRY to a certain extent, and has been called Adoptive Masonry, or the Adoptive Rite.

Within the Adoptive Rite Ritual, the ladies are said to have been adopted into Masonic communion.

Therefore, to properly understand the Eastern Star, you must also take a look at the Masonic organization.

For most men and women who partake within this foolery, they have no idea whatsoever, what is actually being represented but they are entering into the Ancient Mysteries of paganism, which is a religion that has many gods or goddesses.

So you may be wondering, WHY were the Eastern Star started?

The Eastern Star were ONLY started to APPEASE the wives of Masons!

It was believed that many wives complained that the Masonic Lodge was causing a great division within their households because the men were forbidden to tell their wives what they were doing in the Lodge and to add to that, the women also became angry that their husbands poured out a lot of money for initiation and regalia fees, especially since much secrecy was highly involved.

The men knew that the only way to SHUT UP their wives mouths, was to offer their wives the idea of the Eastern Star and from that, the Eastern Star was BORN. Now let's be clear, anything that is ROOTED in secrecy and division, IS NOT THE HAND OF GOD ALMIGHTY! Between both sets of my grandparents, on the maternal and paternal side, my paternal grandfather was a Mason but my paternal grandmother was not an Eastern Star and both of my maternal grandparents, NEVER expressed or had the desire to ever join even though many of their friends were involved.

As I recollect back, my maternal grandmother was approached to join many times, but her answer was always, "something about that ain't RIGHT! No thank you, I will pass," is what she would say.

Now looking back on it, Granny was operating in PURE DISCERNMENT and there was an unction within her spirit that told her NOT TO EVER JOIN. There were things that I do believe that the Lord Himself revealed to her about the Eastern Star and because she was obedient to OBEY HIM, she followed His instructions within His Word that stated, in Exodus 20:2, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me, " (which is also a part of The Ten Commandments).

And I often ask myself, how can women who are wives of Pastor's be involved in such deception and vice versa for the Pastors who are Masons as well, when they should know that on that day that GOD judges them, this will be something that WILL COME UP and the question will be asked by GOD, DID YOU NOT KNOW THE TRUTH? These very organizations, become the IDOLS to many and while many drown within their own pool of ignorance, there will still be a day when they must acknowledge their wrong.

The bible tells us that the devil's agenda is to STEAL, to KILL and to DESTROY, and often times, he does his job very well and easily, as the sheep FREELY walk into the slaughter house when ignorance and denial becomes BLISSFUL!

Don't allow anyone or anything to DECEIVE you because at the end of the day, you MUST remember, if the serpent TRICKED EVE, he can also TRICK YOU...

"A Mouth without Lipgloss is Like a Cake without Frosting!"

Shaunkia’s motto that she lives by daily is to inspire ALL women, no matter what her background or status is by encouraging her to embrace her stride to be STRONG. KeyLips is a lip gloss brand that was birthed through Shaunkia in 2017, but became a reality in 2020.

Shaunkia has always loved lip gloss and wasn’t always settled on one that felt right on her lips.

It had to be the right texture.

She began playing with colors and

different oils in 2017 and found a couple of friends to be testers and they were pleased.

Shaunkia continued to experiment and finally in 2020, she stepped out on faith with her design and brand.

She is now the proud designer and owner of KeyLips.

The name is derived from a nickname that her great-grandmother gave her: “Key” and as thoughts of what to name my brand, that spoke clearly as my glosses are the perfect keys to unlock the beauty of your lips.

My great-grandmother would be tickled that her legacy lives through my brand.

KeyLips are infused with vegan and cruelty free mica powder, vitamin E, castor and almond oils and a hint of strawberry fragrance.
