Skyline Sheraton is a 4 star Hotel building designed and built in 1971 In chitectural aesthetic. It consists of 355 guest bedrooms designed and dist typical floors and a guest F&B facilities at ground floor with plant equipm on the roof. Elemental analysis of potential component elements for en faรงade and providing a new aesthetic and character which would create a new visual identity for the Hotel.Design Option 1: Perforated metal scree back lighting , Ambient night lighting., Refurbish Port Cochere, New LED / lighting, Replace exterior totem, Add Glass Canopy to Side entrance.

The project is located on the sea shore of Al Rabat city, it comprises 1 basement,2 floors podium, 12 storey offices, 18 storey residential apartments and lastly 21 storey high-end Hotel with diverse hospitality functions & Guest’s suites. Our Scope was the Hotel specialist architect who overseen and develop the architecture Layouts to well function as the main Architect involved in the project Was more conceptual oriented. Therefore, the client appointed 3dreid as the Hotel architect to support the Spanish concept Architect. My role was to redesign all the Guest Rooms and Suites to suite the envelope changing regime as the building is tapering towards the top where more Executive suites have been allocated. I used Revit Architecture together with my hand Sketches to illustrate the Design - Fig1. isometrical Plan showing the Hotel Floors.

The Scheme comprises 4 residential blocks, College and 4-star Hotel, my scope is the Hotel Architect, responding to the client and Hotel Operator’s Brief, develop the floor layouts and the Architecture design in compliance with Building regulations. The proposed Hotel Building is located on the south-eastern edge of the site, adjacent to the existing eight storey residential building on Belmore Street. The Hotel will be a contemporary ‘lifestyle’ offer and act as a hub for the College learning activities in addition to providing attractive accommodation, Food and Beverage and Function facilities within the vicinity. The currently indicated hotel guest room floor layouts respond to the specific bespoke hotel brand design brief requirements. The proposed massing achieves a scale transition from the taller buildings of Battersea redevelopment to the North West of the site, and the proposed Residential Tall buildings to the medium and low rise buildings to the west of the site.

The concept I started the initial sketches to mimic the falcon shape as the form of the building, wings wrapped around the tower skin, the beak defining the luxurious entrance & the bird nest is the fabric of the podium, these vocabularies “landed Falcon “have engraved the symbolic significance approach. The massing of tower derived from the bird oval shape, the envelope consists of three layers of different architecture façade each strip away to expose the other subsequently toward the top, on the roof a Dome has been placed to simulate the Islamic forms. Yet, all together extracted the massing hierarchy & fineness to the tower top end, the top facade stepped back away from the lagoon to strengthen the hierarchy of the form.

The building by itself present a Falcon Sculpture, as a Denote to impressionism. In addition, the pattern which derived from Islamic flora geometry but reintroduced in a contemporary way; by taken portion of the pattern and distributed randomly, designated to be the configuration character of cladding ornaments or shading screens. Furthermore, the vocabulary of falcon shape has informed other building artistic elements, like the shapes of; Exterior wall lamps, CCTV Posts, Interior portraits. All these has been put together to tell us something about the purpose it serves, the exploration excitement behind the artistic appearance.

Due to the nature of the building, my response to Fine art extended further to approach others aesthetic aspects; the configuration shapes of podium Green roof created an overwhelming portraits, which designed by the interior Designer with my contribution. The Dancing/bouncing fountains connected to Music together with fire and lighting, Building colours contrast. These efforts exemplifies strongly the application of fine art and its influence on the architecture design of this building. I used Rhino 5 for podium , Top Dome free form & nest ,3DMax 10 for Tower 3D modelling / V-ray-Rendering. ••

This project was my opportunity to introduce a masterpiece design which could convince and probably satisfy the Owner, although I had a similar form, designed previously for other project proposal 6 years earlier.

But this time “2010 “I wanted to employ what I have learned in my career .

The initial client meeting started in January of 2010, first visit was to client representative Guest Hall to have a full understanding of their requirement and type of functions they want in this hotel since the area has other high-end hotels ,the main client goal was to bring up an outstanding hotel in the look & the functions , after we listed the spatial program and the general ideas , he took us to a Cage for Falcons adjacent to the reception area at that time as he wanted to show these birds he proud of and then it comes to my knowledge that the client is a fan of falcons (as other sheikhs in Gulf of course), but he is also hoisting falcons racing every year and that was my inspiration trigger.

St. George square extension is located on the boundary between the Retail quarter and St. George’s Square.

Opposite both the newly landscaped Square from north west and the town hall from south west. And Our Design Aims to Provide a modern, high quality shopping experience. Increase the provision of retail units. Improve the access from St. George’s Square to the Mall Arndale shopping Centre. Although it was medium sized development, but the nature of the site requires thorough attention of the design team in all stages, for me it was a fruitful case study to be familiar with the construction, structure system & procurement method in the UK and how they are suitable for the project, I had to study all interface details between existing and new Building. I used Sketch up software for building the 3D Model of the Project and 3D Max with mental ray to apply lightings and materials for finalising the CGI of the Interior Atrium perspectives

This Project is located in Salwa road adjacent to Midmaq Junction which is a vital Location between Al Maamoura and Al Asisri Areas. Yet, the project location , size, diverse functions and importance should be interpreted in the design challenge which should emphasise this aim to make it the gateway to Doha City centre in particular for the Commuters from west Doha new Industrial Area and Travellers from Saudi Arabia, therefore I paid thorough attention on the philosophical , facade quality , public realm improvement and well functional approach , An Iconic and landmark Shopping experience in the heart of Doha .

The shape and form of Oil Barrels and the Oil refinement industry in the Gulf Countries inspire the vocabulary of the architecture in the different aspects; it informs the massing, Voids, screens, patterns, landscapes & facade, as they respond to the circular and cylindrical forms with staggered cylindrical floors in Hotel block to illustrate the contemporary design. The project is situated at the northern part of Doha, at Lusail City, bounding along Al-Khor Coastal Road. the site (WR Res-38) is located within the Lusail City, the new development District north Doha, at the Waterfront Residential District. The site covers an area of 4018 m² and holds a pivotal position along the Boulevard, benefiting the public park toward the water front of the Gulf sea. The architecture approach was to increase the viewings surfaces through a massing composite with two different scales, defining two different function, podium and Tower, first contain the amenities at the ground and mezzanine while second accommodates the residential Units with 20 levels.

Likewise, define a massing hierarchy toward the public park and embrace an intimate courtyard which increase the panoramic views, in addition, by enhancing the green zone horizontally as garden surface and vertically over the green wall barrier. The tower itself articulated a U shape form engaging the scenic lifts.

WELCOMING IMPACT

The first proposal I introduced was conforming to the Dynamic Architecture approach, this new trend in architecture presents the new generation of building design in its early stages, therefore, it was my first design attempt after I practiced the relevant media which serves this purpose. I used Revit architecture software with its powerful parametric tools together with the Dynamo Visual scripting plug-in for Revit and that enabled me to create a sophisticated composite 3D model corresponds with; the parametric adaptive components in Revit and the script formula I built in dynamo. this was my opportunity to learn and develop the right scripting formula, my journey in this process opened my eyes widely to a new era, the abilities these tools offers to designers and how morphogenesis serves the architecture purpose. The first experiment I made was creating a formula in dynamo which generates data from sun direction angle to the shading screen components to open and close in response to the sun direction. the automated foldable panel “shading screen� modelled by The adaptive component, with a parametric equation using trigonometric to control the folding movement.

The Podium Roof congregated the swimming Pool and Green roofing to increase green zones for public attraction. The Sectional Isometric shows the floors slabs, curtain walling for panoramic lifts and building materials used for Both the Internal layouts and external fabrics and how they work together to silhouette the building Architecture.

The podium perforated screens respond to the fine art not only by forming an 3d sculpture surface but the random distribution of colour tones creates an existing portrait with dynamic appearance and breaks monotony tediousness of the solid wall in front the park. yet, simulate the natural material colours spontaneous arrangement. Wickers was the vocabulary of the Architecture design which informs fabric of the envelope externally and the interiorly; this is one of the vernacular art application traditionally used in the region in many aspects. Sheets, screens, baskets & rugs. it’s natural and regional material availability made it the predominant common used component for local people throughout history. it’s warm, tender feeling & ancestor’s traces reflection in it gives it the characteristic significant that local community admire. In addition, the sustainable contribution this material offers.

After I successfully designed and managed Mondrian Doha, The Client with the hotel operator Decided to construct another one in Dubai, the plot was located in Khalifa City Near Dubai tower fronting the Boulevard Street on a plot area of 6600 Sq.M. , the number of floors constructed are 2 Basements, Ground , 4 podium levels and 30 Storey serviced Residential and Hotel floors. The aim is to do High-end 5-star Hotel Facilities and Spacious Wedding hall and Top Roof Sky bar, total number of Flats are 51 and Guest Rooms & Suites are 136. I have design the Architecture of the building, Produced the Feasibility study and lead the architecture team to develop the detail drawings.

The First Design Approach was to elevate the Hotel Entrance and Lobby facilities to the First floor where cars and drop off areas lies benefiting from strong Plinth of the Tower to reside the elegant tower Form where triangular chamfer to the edge of the Building Cube cuts the massing to emphasize the tapered top end of Tower and the cladding Materials Change in harmony. the project take into consideration the Sustainability measures and Smart Buildings criteria based on Dubai New Regulations.

Design Competition for the Private Engineering Office PEO, which is a governmental Body for the state of Qatar which receives its directives from H.H. The Emir.

The Aim of the design was to Bringing Jawaan Street to life as a real Urban experience and differentiating it from the rest of Doha as a distinctive landmark and destination point.

The site is located in Al Sadd Area, edging Bin Omran on the North Side and Close to the Northern Highway. It covers 130 m. depth and 1100 m. lengths with an area of 13.4 Hectares. It resides along the entire edge from Sports roundabout to Al Sadd Intersection. The site is a strategic hub between Bin Omran and Al Sadd District.

The design of Joaan street district is based on three core principles, creating a vital commercial district, creating a world class place and creating a city for the future. The design had to fit within the overall Masterplan that exists for Doha, while creating an area that has some local distinction and character, all benefiting from strong linkages and a balanced mix of uses. The evolving massing of the development has balanced a desire to maximize the use of the site, while respecting the surrounding heights of buildings and strategic view corridors. Landmark buildings have been identified in key locations. The master plan has been developed to maximise its locational advantages with the adjoining future green park connecting it to Al Sadd area through visual and walk accesses.

At a strategic level, the open space Strategy is based on the desire to maximize permeability through the site while considering the public / private interface and the privacy needs of different building uses and functions. Key Spaces include the central public plaza A high quality public realm will thread the redevelopment urban components together. Development will include a leisure branded area incorporating a cinema, convenience shops, specialist quality retail outlets, cafes and restaurants. Enhanced pedestrian links and new civic spaces will connect The Promenade to adjoining areas of the plaza centre. Accessibility and circulation will be enhanced by the reorganization of the covered walking paths

The option 2 was to redesign the architecture envelope, this approach was to be postmodern style where rectangular edge with granite cladding faรงade and punched windows while the middle axle of the faรงade will be the glazed curtain wall, the solid stone cladding will frame the glass surface creating a gateway character then it will be stripped of on the last floors to expose a new material layer of glass which will interface with the top massing profile that takes the shape of prism, this prism will accommodate the leisure activities and part of building Services.

The Brief main goal is to design a landmark skyscraper in Al Dafna Area “diplomatic area “to function as a modern 5-star Hotel and serviced Apartment the total keys are 300 Nos. Hotel Keys and 250 Nos. of Apartment Units. The total floor heights are 55 levels skyscraper. The massing forms an elegant corners metal cladding curves that meets on the top end defining a top pointed tower and between these curves the glass curtain walls reside with perforated shading screen taking the shape of palm leaf, the meeting zone where these curves interfaces at top the vertical blades Turbine Has been located which was the Idle location based on the initial Wind analysis. the building has 410 parking spaces. Built-Up Area: 58,266m².

After the rejection of the first planning application back in 2011 I have involved in the project. therefore, I had to revisit many design decision, including making dramatic changes to the layouts to satisfy the structure design and seismic forces, these changes entails redesigning of basement floors and flats and bedrooms units.

The building use were Hotel and serviced apartments with all Hotel facilities which included 272 Nos. Hotel Keys and 174 Nos. of Apartment Units, I have lead the design team and started the design development including studying the BMU and Fire safety compliance in response to the NFPA regulation, the re-amended planning application was approved in 2011. The tower roof character has been altered to shape the diamond form creating an interesting tapered end of skyscraper top and the exterior wall treatment is made of first class Granite Stone Finish and has 4 cascading water drops at the façade.

The Ground and mezzanine accommodated the restaurant and building high end facilities such as spa and gym with direct access to the GT area.

The Total built-up area: 43,708 m². the architecture design approach derived from contemporary form with intricate Islamic shape openings and façade pattern “octagon Star” which take different scales to shape the elegant appearance. The Geometry profile takes the quatrefoil shape with centre cylindrical form integrated and the compose forms an aesthetic top Pointed dome inspired from Islamic architecture. The solid / void, glass / opaque cladding with Islamic star perforated the surfaces narrate culture of the region in a contemporary approach. I have used Rhino and Grasshopper to distribute these stars’ perforation in a scale changing rhythm.

The Project is Located at Lusail, MarinaRES/12, Qatar. Encompassed with 20 storey tower, 2 basements, ground and mezzanine level, the proposed design provided 137 units between 2, 3, and 4-bedrooms as service apartments. The Area benefits from the Water edge marina and sea views.

The project located in Bin Mahmoud, opposite Barwa complex, the project comprises of 2 building with combined podium ; 2 basement, Ground and mezzanine retail , the first Tall building covers 30 typical floor offices and the second block contains the residential apartments with 12 levels. The first design intends was to create an appealing contemporary Form; staggered elliptical profiles dances in different angles around the Axle which creates diverse balconies and streamlines, an aesthetic disturbance. The total Built-Up Area: 29,577m² .

The second design option was to simplify the Building profile into rectangle considering cost implication therefore; I have focused on the faรงade harmony and shading screen, the exciting staggered configuration of panels and the distinction of top design tapered massing, giving an identity and presence in this vital main street between al sad and bin Mahmoud, this elevation design language repeated in harmony in the residential block creating a dynamic appearance.

The Project was a competition in 2004 for the Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority Head Quarter. I have decided to go different direction in the design approach, the context is new office buildings for cargo companies, so to do something different to be a landmark – an aesthetic form represents the importance of the function, I started to think in about the aviation concept and how it started, the invention the first scientific concept –the composition of the wing profile and air pressure streamline & flow. From that I have derived the design philosophy.

The first concept design of Al Mirqab Twin residential Towers, which I believe that I achieved good approach, it was to look into the nature of the area where water (the gulf) and land, solid & organic, the two oppositions then to inspire a form response to this relation, a mass that combine these two factors into a contemporary design creates an appealing landmark, Dividing the squared layout of the tower into two parts, curved curtain wall with balconies (organic) and the ordered geometry with pure rectangle windows (solid).

The approach: was to design a tower with three functions; hotel, offices & residential Also shopping centre podium. My role was to design the elevations, contribute in forming the mass, exterior landscape & tower interior atrium. From Dubai culture / history, professions in past /fishing & diving for pearls I inspired the concept of mass with Contemporary & sleek elevations design. Creates an appealing external landscape (podium roof), bringing natural environment -strong edges extended from the tower form -to serve & link the tower’s views. I used 3dmax software to produced 3d images also to examine & improve the form, applying materials.

BMW Showroom Sharjah , UAE

The new Showroom Design for the emirate of Sharjah was a challenging proposal back in 2000 ,before releasing an architecture competition the Client decided to give our architecture firm the opportunity to introduce a satisfactory design,I had the chance to do this concept which was pleasing to him.

The building contains main cars, mini cars, motorbikes selling showrooms, offices, spare parts and Repair warehouse. The main car showroom has the centre of attraction with the circular volume and a curved shop-front tied up the two edge cubes, the massing configuration defines an aesthetic Architecture, the two edge cubes houses the mini cars and motor bikes with separate entrances to enhance the welcoming factor. The circular hall covered with rounded in sequence solid/glass sky light arranged order to imitate BMW Logo.

Montana Shopping Centre 2B+G+M+5 Storey

- Al Karama Area, Dubai

I have involved in this project from the concept design to the design development I leaded a team of 3 drafts-men.

In addition, I have the chance to coordinate & find solution as practical as possible with M&E engineers and Structure engineer to reach better solutions of grids size, the weight of the skylight steel structure and its impact on the main structure, the shoring piles impact on the basement, columns sizes .

The project comprises 2basements, ground, mezzanine, 3 levels retails and 5 levels offices located on Zabeel road –Dubai , this was one of my first projects that I managed from initial concept to building control documentations back in 1998 to 2000 . The design goal was to create an attractive shopping centre that bring public into, an appealing internal environment that work as a destination point brings costumers of the near main post office building and the traveller from Shaikh Zayed road .bring the public realm inside. The proposed building located between the old city centre (high density urban fabric) and the new development area of sheikh Zayed road where the high-rise buildings, the urban grid (low density), that gives the mall an identity - gateway.

Art Gallery - G+4 storey Shwehen ,Sharjah - UAE

Client’ aim was to achieve better circulation solutions as there was an art gallery building opposite the plot where this was the extension. The plot was linear which I found it a good challenging to simulate the circulation concept of Guggenheim museum. I have studied the possibilities of having slopes circulation that leads the visitors to the galleries & create an interesting journey through the levels till they reach the end gathering lobby & exit ,that was the first type of circulation design approach in the UAE .Concept was approved by the client (Sharjah government ).I have produced all plans, sections for D&B procurement. exceptional of approvals granted. The best construction type is precast system & procurement method is design and builds due to the short period of construction (3 months including design). Sandwich panels pre-cast claddings for energy saving and fast site installation was the ideal option of construction. The drawings has been studied to provide consistent module to work as a precast units for production . Elevations was designed to match the existing characters of the context –traditional architecture, The building located in the old chaotic traditional urban fabric of the city centre.

The project is located at Al Rayan, Qatar, the Architecture Concept which comprises a Contemporary form refined with Islamic features represented in a fashionable approach the entrance enclosure with aesthetic curved welcoming covered drop off enclosure which leads directly to a spacious central double volume lobby with ornamented skylight dome, the foyer leads to a Focal luxury grand stairway that connects all levels, and to the 2 palace wings. an indoor and outdoor swimming pool is connected directly to the family living wing and the stylish rear garden, similarly a fish pond is connected to the formal office and guests wing maintaining the two symmetrical and visual aspects of design. Rhino, 3D Max design . Total built-up area: 8,500 m².

This proposed Beach villa is located in the new Development Island in Dubai; the character of this area is the contemporary style with predominant water features and pools opposite the beach side. The internal configuration benefits from open spaces and sleek design open kitchen, double volume and direct double height glass faรงade fronting the sea side and the private villa landscape. The villa covers an area of 2200 sq. m. and comprises of 3 levels ;basement amenities and leisure facilities, ground floor living, kitchen and guest reception areas, first floor bedrooms with family space and finally the loft Master Bedroom with direct access scenic lift. The private garden designed in two levels and the elevated portion accommodates the swimming pool area and the surrounded pavement, the Lower Level was to soft cape zone which creates an aesthetic hierarchy toward the beach.

The project was in Um Quraiba, the north skirt of the state of Qatar, and it was an architecture design competition for the government of Qatar to design a farm house with horse stables and Guest House for visitors. Concept Design: The design concept is based on four design Elements; Hierarchy, Separation, Integration with Nature, and Traditional Characters. The design focus on the rigorous separation between service routes and the dwellers, the visitor’s entrances and the main occupiers, second factor is the hierarchy weather between the spaces, indoor to outdoor or courtyard privacy; private, semi private and public. The language of integration between the indoor -outdoor and the visual link with water features, pools and channels which contributes to the air refreshing and cooling in the hot extreme weather. The design approach combines a contemporary simplistic Architecture and Local architecture character influence.

I tried to reintroduce the local character in a new form and contemporary open spaces layout to enhanced the excitement experience specially taken into consideration the site important feature which is the beach to the golf sea. The proposed project was a 4-star hotel with 102 keys, including 12 suites and 6 deluxe rooms. My main target in the design was to maximise the number of keys and to create an aesthetic massing configuration that in-creases the overlooking views toward the ground terrace public realm and outdoor activities of the Hotel, emphasise the welcoming entrance when two building wings broadened away of the Centre Axle defining double volume atrium “Trapezium”, considering the limited plot size. The project is located at Rawdat Al Khail, which serves the area of Doha Airport in the south of Doha, Qatar.

The total floors are 1 basement, ground, mezzanine, 6 typical floors and Roof facilities. The Façade design was based on the Neo-Classic Architecture “the Baroque & Renaissance”, the Arches, Ornamented Window Moulds and Corinthian columns informs the Building character. In sizes the ground floor features a ballroom, souvenir shop, bar and an all-day dining restaurant. The mezzanine level features a spa, gym and office space. The swimming pool is located on the side terrace at ground floor, complemented with a water feature and barbecue area. Total built-up area: 73,462 m².

Al Manar Fire Station Shk. Zayed Road -Dubai

The Project was an architecture competition introduced

by Dubai Police authority; the aim was to find a best design that will be a prototype of Fire stations in the emirate for two different building sizes, the project comprises the offices, Trucks indoor warehouse and parking and the most iconic function which is the observation tower and that was my key architecture element that I have focused on, the number of floors where ground and first only in addition to the tower room.

A contemporary architecture design to simulate the architecture trend in Dubai , futuristic forms, metal rain screen claddings and rich entrance marble panels to a rich entrance such us all government buildings. The CGI illustrates how these elements brought together to define the design approach in particular the Tower room that stand out as an iconic futuristic object “ The Space Ship “, the design won the first award, and chosen as the prototype fire station in Dubai, built in al Manar area at sheikh Zayed road.

My main target in the design was to maximise the number of keys and to create an aesthetic and hands-on massing configuration that increases the overlooking views toward a centre Hub “courtyard “which contain the public realm and outdoor activities of the Hotel, considering the limited plot size. The project is located at Raw-dat Al Khail, which serves the area of Doha Airport in the south of Doha, Qatar. The total floors are 1 basement, ground, mezzanine, 6 typical floors and Roof facilities. The Façade design was based on grasshopper, Rhino visual scripting; where a gradient shading Panels change creating an aesthetic transition between solid a glass materials in a contemporary morphogenesis. In sizes the ground floor features a ballroom, cigar bar and an all-day dining restaurant. The mezzanine level features a spa, gym and office space. The swimming pool is located on the roof top, complemented with a water feature and barbecue area.

Diplomatic Club Refurbishment West bay Lagoon - Doha The project was a design competition for the refurbishment and new Swimming pool and an integrated food and beverage zone, the design entails the covering of courtyard with large expand metal and glass sky light fabric. It’s located in diplomatic district, north Doha – Qatar.

The design aim was to integrate the two functions as they add value to each other visually and functionally in the courtyard. The sky light design was the key envelope to add value and richness to the interior volume; the shape of boats and water waives.

The science park is situated about 3 km to the north of Cambridge city centre, by junction 33 of the A14, in the parish of Milton, contiguous with Cambridge itself, concept design and feasibility study to ascertain the investment potentials.
