Francisco López Criaturas Sónicas
Hotsetan. Sound and experimental music programme The composer and sound artist Francisco López has been fascinating audiences worldwide for decades with his sonic experiences using multi-channel surround systems and blindfolds for the public, which the artist calls a ‘gratifying monomedium situation.’ Francisco López offers a single concert of Sonic Creature, on 13th October, with pieces created from numerous original environmental recordings both natural and artificial, recorded worldwide. The artist states that “It’s not about sonorous landscapes but rather virtual non-representational sonorous worlds,” where the public creates their own experience in an environment where the parameters and rules of immersion are dictated by the sounds themselves, like space and dynamic physical forces.

His career in the field of sound creation and working with environmental recordings covers a period of over 40 years, during which he has developed an absolutely personal and iconoclastic sound universe based on in-depth listening to the world. He is the author of hundreds of sound installations, projects with field recordings and concerts/performances in over 60 countries.
