Hey Auburn Bay! Has there ever been a question that you wanted to ask our managers about, whether it’s regarding events, programs, landscaping, procedures, policies and more? Well here is your chance. Each month our General Manager will select one question to answer from our residents, and our reply will be answered in the next newsletter. If you have a question that you have been pondering about, feel free to forward it to rrcoordinator@auburnbay.org
The ABRA prefers to practice catch & release, however you can take home up to two (2) fish per day (per member) and twelve (12) fish per month (per household).

As the weather cools and ice begins to slowly form on local storm ponds, it's important to remember that storm ponds play a crucial role in protecting our community from flooding and cleaning stormwater Due to rapidly changing water levels, poor water quality and varying ice thickness, these ponds are not safe for recreational use. Any activities on or in storm ponds are strictly prohibited under the Stormwater Bylaw.
Whystormpondsarenotsafeforanyactivity:
The water in these ponds contains sediment and contaminants (e.g. road salt, vehicle fluids, bacteria, fertilizers, pesticides) that are collected as water travels through the community on their way to the storm pond, which can weaken the ice. 1 Water levels are constantly changing as water moves between inlet and outlet pipes creating unstable air gaps between the ice and water 2. Ice thickness can vary across the pond's surface. 3.

Some young anglers caught a fish in our lake and noticed some interesting markings on it! These distinctive patterns are calledparr marks. Parr marks are the vertical, dark bars or spots found on the sides of juvenile fish, especially in species like salmon and trout. They provide natural camouflage, helping the fish blend into their freshwater habitats. As the fish mature, these markings typically fade.

ABRA decorates over 250 trees between the park, main boulevard, and parking lot.
Over the past few years, the trees have grown significantly, and some now require the lift to be fully extended to reach them.
Different species of trees require unique techniques for hanging lights.
We use around 20,000 lights, but this number increases each year as the trees continue to grow
