ODEMI PESSU Odemi Pessu is an artist and visionary whose work blends the spiritual, cultural, and emotional complexities of Afro-indigenous womanhood with the vibrant colors and fluid forms of abstract art. Born and raised in Atlanta to Nigerian immigrant parents, Odemi’s journey as an artist and entrepreneur has been deeply informed by her Ijaw and Itsekiri heritage. Her creative journey, now embodied through her platform Alaere Lifestyle, is a celebration of the divine feminine, sovereignty, and the decolonization of mind, body, and spirit. Odemi’s unique style of storytelling through illustrations and mixed media paintings draws inspiration from her indigenous African roots, highlighting the sacred essence of womanhood in a postcolonial world. Her work speaks to the transformative power of love and the deep connection between humanity and nature. For Odemi, art is not just a medium for self-expression but a tool for spiritual awakening and empowerment.
