CHUTNEY MARY: LONDON’S ICONIC CULINARY INSTITUTION

FOR CONTEMPORARY INDIAN DINING

Chutney Mary, in its 33rd year of its existence has just been awarded by the well-respected national UK AA Guide as London’s Restaurant of the Year 23-24. It is a laudable achievement for an Indian restaurant to be acknowledged thus, taking into account the large number of outstanding restaurants of all cuisines in this gourmet capital of the world.

Chutney Mary over 33 years has pioneered making Indian food fashionable. It was such as surprise when we heard that the famous AA Guide awarded Chutney Mary the Restaurant of the Year 2024. Considering London is the food capital of the world, I feel really humbled .by the accolade

It’s been a path breaking journey. When it opened in 1990 in the then very trendy Kings Road in Chelsea, at the time there were only a couple of upmarket Indian restaurants in the city, though there were many cheaper curry houses serving a British version of Indian food.

With its exotic colourful atmosphere of beautifully patterned carpets, murals and a conservatory full of exotic palms,

it captivated the adventurous and knowledgeable diner, and became one of the favoured restaurants in the city. It served food from many regions of India, as it does today, and was the first restaurant to do so. The style of serving, with elegant tableware and wines to match the food was unusual for Asian cuisine restaurants.

In 2015, 25 years after opening, it relocated to St. James’ Street in fashionable Mayfair, occupying a

prime position, a few steps from the legendary Ritz hotel, as also close to Clarence House and St. James’ Palace where King Charles and Queen consort live.

Chutney Mary has attached to it a spacious, glamorous Pukka Bar

where besides conventional bar seating, it also has sofas and a large single piece of wood table for 12 which serves exceptional cocktails inspired by Indian botanicals. It is also a dining bar.

Descending a few steps from the bar leads into this large, stunning room seating a hundred, lit by candelabras and adorned with Indian art, offering unusually comfortable seating for social entertaining.

From the local well-heeled residents, to senior luminaries from the world of the neighbouring financial district, to discerning Indophiles and Indians from all over the world, the well-travelled, to the curious local diner, Chutney Mary regularly satisfies 150-200 guests every evening.

Chutney Mary has been cooking regional Indian cuisine from Goa and Kolkata to Mumbai et al since the 1990s. It remains a

standard bearer for elegant regional cuisine. This makes it a true pioneer, not just in Indian food in London, but in the city’s culture as a whole.

Chutney Mary is part of the MW Eat group which also owns Amaya in Belgravia and Veeraswamy in Mayfair (both with Michelin stars), as well as four Masala Zone restaurants, including the recently opened glamorous Masala Zone Piccadilly Circus. Highly recommended!

A BYGONE ERA UNIQUELY REIMAGINED: THE MEGARO HOTEL, LONDON

Brilliantly located in the heart of King’s Cross, The Megaro hotel has not so much rewritten, but torn up the entire rule book when it comes to the London hospitality scene!

Behind its now iconic multicoloured, mural splattered façade, The Megaro – and its incredible F&B offering –embraces the changing face of the capital. Constantly evolving and reimagined, the hotel’s creatively decorated rooms and suites marry design, fashion, cinematography and music, all inspired by bygone eras of the neighbourhood’s storied past.

At the heart of this enchanting destination bursting with individuality is an equally individual food and drink offering, including all-day pasta lab, Spagnoletti, and underground

BRITANNIA ROSE

apothecary bar, Hokus Pokus.

Comprising five very different styles, The Megaro’s rooms and suites are deeply immersive mini-universes that combine playful eccentricity with creature comforts.

POP DIVA SUITES

Inspired by the golden age of Hollywood, each suite offers a dedicated bar lounge and dressing area in a glamourous palette of vibrant reds and seductive golds.

DIESEL CORNER STUDIO

Interiors revolve around quirky artistic compositions, whether printed on metal sheets or soft cushions, that are a playful take on cultural icons, from the British bulldog to Harry Potter's owl.

For those who enjoy the finer things in life, eachroom has a warm, dramatic design scheme in five shades of red and pink inspired by classic red grape varieties: Cabernet, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sangiovese and Tempranillo.

GROOVE BRITANNIA

In this music-centric space, where dancing is heavilyencouraged, are individually designed beds, mobile wardrobes and rippling silver surfaces inspired by British glam rock and disco balls.

BACKSTAGE BRITANNIA

Adorned with flight-case furniture, this room has a rebellious punk rock edge.

CLASSIC DOUBLE DELUXE & JUNIOR SUITES

The antithesis of The Megaro’s Design Rooms, the neutral tones

and comfortable interiors of this accommodation is all about soothing relaxation and a famously good night's sleep.

Combining wellbeing with discretion, The Megaro also offers an array of in-room treatments, including manicures, facials, massages, beauty and hair services and personal training.

Their whimsically retro-futuristic restaurant is centred around a simple premise: to offer honest and authentic Italian dishes that celebrate the flavours, aromas and textures of the finest seasonal produce available. Both the name and interiors are inspired by Charles Spagnoletti, the 19th century London engineer and inventor responsible for the development of the telegraphic signalling systems used on most of the British railways which were then passing

through King’s Cross Station.

Led by the brilliant mixologist Greg ‘Doc’ Chudzio, London’s ‘underground apothecary bar’ is a living tribute to the rich history of the local area. In particular, it takes its inspiration from 19th century quacks like Dr James Morison, who in 1828 opened the “British College of Health’’ just down the road and who famously claimed his vegetable pills could cure any ailment.

Fast forward a couple of centuries, and the potions and elixirs found at Hokus Pokus – some of which are infused while others are pickled, smoked or even set on fire, don’t lay claim to any health benefits, but will certainly help improve the mood!

Excellent service, top notch hospitality,

delectable cuisine and a warm welcome meets our Highly Recommended list criteria and we are sure will be enjoyed by discerning guests.

In the mid-80s, Mr. Megaro began his journey in the hospitality industry which sparked his interest not only in hospitality but also in architecture. He expanded his portfolio by acquiring several other bed and breakfast establishments before purchasing the Derby and Megaro properties with the intention of embarking on ambitious projects. The conversion and extension of the Megaro building, completed in 2008, marked a significant milestone as it became the first hotel development in the King’s Cross area at that time, positioning Mr. Megaro ahead of the neighbourhood’s burgeoning development trend.

RAAKESHPHOTO: LONDON BASED ACE PHOTOGRAPHY BRAND OF GLOBAL ACCLAIM

If you were asked that have you heard of the photographer behind the brand Raakeshphoto, you probably may not have heard his name.... That's because those who know him know that he likes to stay humble and low key as his work speaks volumes for itself! Raakesh works efficiently and seamlessly and no surprise that he is a photographer who has covered over 400 events with an astonishing amount of those leads coming from personal recommendations, as his brand has a loyal client base of repeat customers and those who promote his great work by word of mouth.

From capturing memories from all sorts of occasions and events, Raakesh has always embraced his creativity that he experiences behind the camera lens. Being a published poet and a keen wood-worker too, Raakesh's heart is full of passion and has a limitless imagination. This means that he captures more than just images; he create stories that speak lengths without words.

Raakesh is London based but travels worldwide with his photography, he however began his photographic journey firstly through astrophotography - capturing the twinkle of the stars and now with a decade of experience, though still an avid astronomer, he creatively captures the twinkle of the eye whenever a beautify bride, an adorable baby, a proud father or a doting mother...smiles!

Raakesh also does product and brand photography, professional portraits, fashion portfolios and works with eclectic briefs and delivers to exceed expectations. He has extensively travelled to shoot events in Australia, France, Netherlands and in India too - recommended by all those who have seen him in action!

He has also worked with several high end car brands, corporate companies, chefs and variety of myriad categories of brands too and this is a teata to him being a versatile photographer. Raakesh uses Nikon mirrorless camera with a 24mm70mm and 2.8 being his go to lens.

Raakesh is passionate about working with people and being able to capture the vision of their event/ product/ brand/ project in a way that it’s true to their value and visual of what they want and how they want to be represented to their target audience. It’s him “absorbing the vision of the client and spirit of what they want and it capturing through my camera lens to make it come alive for them.”

Talking about what keeps him inspired, Raakesh said that, “What I love most about photography projects is that I am not only able to capture the memories I’m able to also document the interaction with people. There are two things I always do when I do say events photography: Firstly, I love conversing with all the guests and always do my best to make them feel at ease. If they are at ease, then they will smile. If they

smile. I’ll get the photo I need. Secondly, I try to be as invisible as possible, never imposing myself onto a situation and never getting in the way of anyone wanting to enjoy themselves. Aside from photos that require my input or staging / positioning etc, at events I often take a “be natural” approach and capture those types of “in action” natural photos as much as possible. “

Raakesh has covered all sorts of events including birthdays, weddings (Indian, Civil), all pre-wedding ceremonies, engagements, marriage proposals, product, food, social, corporate, property, formal headshot, baby, family, travel, high end cars etc. All the above are indoor, outdoor, at home or at a venue / office etc.

Editing and post production of photos is Raakesh’s strong point and forte. “I have often been asked to remove objects / people or adjust backgrounds in photos. This has often meant that I have had to re-create gaps in photos or adjust people’s position.” Raakesh knows what is like that as soon as the occasion has finished and everyone wants to see the photos as soon as possible. He prides himself of having very fast turnaround times (few days…. not weeks!), as “ I put myself in my client’a shoes and know that if I want in their position…. I’d like to see the photos as soon as possible!”

Raakesh also creates bespoke photobooks for the events he photographs. With his poetic mind, he loves overlapping one photo into another, telling the story of the occasion through the pages. His unique process is that he drafts the photobook first and then present it to clients. He then works with them to amend the pages to reflect their vision too. He finds that giving them something to work from makes the amendment process that much easier to do. It’s important to him “that they confirm their happiness with every page as I want them to have pride in every page of their book when they share it to friends and family.”

Raakesh’s future aspiration for his brand he said is “ To never give up on what I have always enjoyed doing and to keep meeting new people through my photography. Being able to hone my photography skills further and find more expressive ways of doing so is an ongoing aspiration and also being able to work on more exciting projects is something I always aspire for! “

VAISHALY CLINIC , LONDON: EXPERT SKINCARE, NATURALLY

With a waiting list currently exceeding three months and a covetable client list including Elle Macpherson, Meg Ryan, Gwyneth Paltrow, Rachel Weisz, Kirsten Dunst, Sophie Dahl, Nigella Lawson, Patsy Kensit and Kimberly Stewart, it is evident that Vaishaly has something special. Superfacialist Vaishaly’s skincare philosophy has always been refreshingly simple: ‘You don’t need a lot of different products to achieve beautiful skin.’

First ‘discovered’ by beauty editors and industry insiders, Vaishaly quickly achieved an unrivalled status as ‘The Brows’ of the beauty business for her amazing eyebrow threading. Over time, her rise to international recognition has been accomplished by the extraordinary success of Vaishaly’s Signature Facial, and she is now known the world over as a true ‘Super Facialist’.

With her own unique blend of exceptional technical skills and remarkably intuitive thinking, Vaishaly works with authenticity at every level. Refreshingly, Vaishaly takes a ‘hands-on’, holistic approach to her business. She goes way beyond the norm in the degree of determination, detail and dedication to everything she touches – from the calm, cocoon-like interiors of her Clinic in London’s fashionable Marylebone, to her signature skincare line and, of course, her clients’ skin.

It is her expertly prescriptive facial that has earned Vaishaly the title of ‘Glow-Getter’ among the beauty media elite. This embraces

deep cleansing, gentle but effective extraction, plus skin-polishing micro-dermabrasion with her unique, de-stressing massage technique incorporating cranial massage and a rejuvenating treatment mask, to promote a natural, youthful radiance.

“By working through the ‘belly’ of each muscle group – where we all hold our tension and stress – massage makes the muscles relax and the fine facial lines disappear, along with puffiness linked to congestion. The face looks uplifted and the features are beautifully softened. I believe that you have to have that ‘special touch’ in your hands with massage to be really effective, and to have a ‘connection’ with a person’s emotional and physical state to be able to understand and fulfil their needs. Clients often ask if my treatments incorporate Reiki, and those who teach energy healing or Reiki tell me that I have a gift of this kind”, says Vaishaly.

Vaishaly’s facial massage technique – known to beauty insiders as ‘her anti-ageing beauty secret’ – is what makes her Signature Facial so sought after.

“As part of my Signature Facial, I work on releasing tension in the body and carry out a cranial movement to encourage a deep relaxation. Each client has such different needs, on different days. I look at the person as a whole when they walk through the door to assess their needs, so that I can create a personalised response. The total effect can

take 10 years off a person’s age, and clients often can’t believe the immediate difference in their face.”

Vaishaly believes it is fundamental to ‘switch client’s mind’s off’ during the facial, transporting them to a place of complete and deep relaxation. This technique immediately rebalances and harmonizes the whole body and skin enabling it to appear more youthful and stress free with an internal glow. You will discover her ‘touch’ to be so powerful yet so gentle, that it balances and harmonizes the mind and body, releasing tension and stress from the face, neck and mind: facilitating the deepest possible healing. After just one treatment the combination of healing properties of organic essential oils and ingredients in Vaishaly’s signature range and her unique massage technique will improve elasticity and tone, boost circulation, eliminate puffiness, define facial contours and features as well as plump skin; diminish fine lines and wrinkles, to reveal an even, radiant and polished youthful complexion.

This exceptional and results-driven Vaishaly Signature Facial treatment using her high performance skin care range has been designed to treat every skin type and skincare concern. Vaishaly also provides a variety of other expert skincare treatments to suit every need. Her facials and all other treatments are as individual as each client and their specific skincare needs.

A CULINARY ICON: HERITAGE AND STYLE COLLIDE AT SAVOY GRILL, LONDON

One of the world's most iconic restaurants, the Savoy Grill has undergone a momentous renaissance, bringing you an even more iconic dining destination than ever before. It was reimagined last year by Gordon Ramsay and the Restaurant Group, and reopened its doors in April 2023. With a revered patrons list of top actors, politicians and influential figures, elegance and tradition are a part of this restaurant.

Home to hundreds of years of Hollywood and history, the Savoy Grill restaurant has seen some of the world’s most famous faces pass through its gilded doors within the legendary Savoy Hotel. Savoy Grill by Gordon Ramsay is the very definition of ‘gourmet glamour.’

The historic Swarovski chandeliers, Churchill’s favourite clock, as well as the

original layout of the tables have been retained in honour of the long history that epitomises the world-renowned Savoy Grill. Diners can still feel the history and personality in the dining room, with the smart wood furniture, crisp white linen, luxurious carpet and faultless service ever-present, but with subtle changes such as more natural light and smart table light choices that elevate the space.

With executive Head Chef, Arnaud Stevens, at the helm it is no surprise that the menu is elegant yet creative. It’s a careful balance between pushing the boundaries of the classics while ensuring they are not tainted, or the flavours of the carefully selected seasonal produce are not overwhelmed.

These modern improvements are particularly evident on the Taste of Savoy menu; a five-course culinary exploration of the Grill’s past, present and future. This makes a memorable gift for guests looking to share the signature Savoy Grill experience with loved ones.

The Taste of Savoy menu changes seasonally or when new inspiration strikes, meaning guests will often find new culinary delights to uncover. The expert sommelier team is there to guide

guests through wine pairings or general selections that may seem unconventional but are clearly an example of knowledge and passion.

The Savoy Grill is a culinary icon for good reason, having cemented itself as the place du jour for some of the arts and entertainments biggest names. However, the new era of the restaurant is one to marvel in, as the talented team perfectly strike the balance of paying homage to the past while delivering excellence and excitement to attract a new generation seeking the ultimate dining experience.

Delectable cuisine, impressive presentation, classy vibe, attentive service, plush interiors make it a meal experience to remember, Highly Recommended!

ABOUT SAVOY GRILL

The Savoy Grill first opened in 1899, launching alongside the hotel it shares its name with. The Savoy was opened when theatre impresario Richard D'Oyly Carte — the man who brought together Gilbert and Sullivan — decided to launch a hotel with restaurants to complement the existing Savoy Theatre. The Grill, which has sat in its present home since 1904, has long been a celebrity favourite, feeding everyone from Charlie Chaplin to Winston Churchill, Errol Flynn to Elizabeth Taylor. The menu today stays true to that which was served nearly 125 years ago, with an offering that has long taken equally from the best of British and French cooking, with an influence from classic New York grills.

NASHTAA CAFE:

A BRITISH ASIAN CULINARY HUB AND A DIVERSE COMMUNITY ESTABLISHMENT

Nashtaa Cafe is an Indian restaurant and cafe in Langley, Slough but with a Fusion Twist. This story is not only about a restaurant but it’s as much about the British Asian entrepreneur

Juslena Randhawa who built a 6 figure Hospitality business with three kids in tow!

With her background in corporate career but with a passion to enter in the realm of business, talking about her entrepreneurial journey’s success Juslena said “I have been resilient, innovative, powering forward for my dreams, when everyone told me no! I was told NO, because I was a mother, wife, daughter, daughter in law and I had to wear all those hats and a business woman would not fit! But my passion was too strong and I had to push through. My journey as a dedicated owner and mother of three reflects my unwavering commitment to both my family and my passion for creating delectable food experiences.”

My vision was to offer a space for individuals, especially mothers and remote workers, to savor tasty food within the comfort of their local area. There was always something missing in the area, when I was expecting my 3rd child and the others were at school, I struggled to find places to go to meet friends which were baby friendly in the local area, but also had a nice atmosphere and delicious food. I wanted to be back in time for the school run! My aim was to create an inviting and aesthetically pleasing environment, but also show the deep understanding of the importance of community and connection. I also made sure there were some instagrammable picture areas!” said Juslena on talking about setting up her brand.

What sets Nashtaa apart is her personal touch in every dish. Drawing inspiration from her own cherished family recipes passed down through generations, Juslena herself has carefully curated a menu that resonates with the flavors of her and many others’ childhoods. As she experimented with recipes, her aim was to infuse the fusion of her own cultural offerings with a twist of

western culture, with a homemade taste that diners couldn't find elsewhere in the hood.

“I have creatively and with enormous dedication expanded Nashtaa Cafe's services beyond delectable meals, encompassing business launch events, private parties, lifestyle events, networking and catering. My ability to blend my corporate expertise with my passion for cooking has led to Nashtaa’s success” reflected Juslena. By integrating her valuable project management skills, she as an entrepreneur has managed to orchestrate some memorable experiences for the diverse clientele, solidifying Nashtaa Cafe's reputation as a go-to destination for both home cooked delights and special occasions.

Juslena serves as a role model for those seeking to strike a balance between their business endeavors and family commitments. “While it's been challenging to achieve a perfect balance, I prioritize keeping my children close, even when juggling the demands of my thriving business. During the holidays, I often bring my kids to the restaurant, ensuring they have activities to stay engaged while I manage both my business and their needs. Despite grappling with occasional bouts of "mum guilt," I've learned to manage it by making conscious efforts to be present during crucial moments and ensuring I'm there for every school pick-up” she shared.

Juslena has won a number of awards and has other expansion projects in pipeline. “I hope and believe my story serves as an inspiration to other mum entrepreneurs, especially those women who are homemakers but aspire to pursue their personal passions”, signed off Juslena on this empowering note.

NEPALI BEER: TASTE OF THE HIMALAYAS IN UK AND BEYOND

As a new Beer brand under the Nepal Foods banner in UK, Japan and Portugal with production for Malta and Usa in pipeline; the brand’s aim for Nepali beer is same as Nepal foods- to take it to 25 country and beyond. They are in talks with many distributors globally so they can make it a global brand within a year in line with their vision.

Their sales have been pleasantly surprising for them since as a new brand they sold 25 Pallets with in a month, which is a full 40 ft container. Moving forward they anticipate the sales to be at least 2-3 containers a month. The brand wants Nepali beer to be the no 1 Nepali beer which pairs best with any Nepalese curry across UK and Beyond. The beer is made using Nepali taste choices and authentic flavours.

This beer is made in the EU for it to be competitive in the global markets. As Nepal dose not have its own port, any product imported from Nepal is more expensive than Indian or any other neighbouring country product. Their cost of shipping is 3 times more than any other country.

Currently Nepal Foods distributes the beer themselves to their Business customers. They can place an order and Nepal Foods delivers directly to them. For a Direct consumer looking to buy Nepali beer they have a e-commerce website www.nepalfoodsonline. co.ukwhere one could buy it. Their range is also available in any leading Nepaleese stores across UK and some big Indian stores like Quality Foods too.

ABOUT NEPAL FOODS

Nepal Foods is a brand that was initiated to bring the taste and culture of Nepal to the

international market, is a venture started by young Nepali entrepreneurs with an aim to serve premium quality Nepali products in the market. This venture entered the market in 2018, and since then, the company has managed to cover markets all over UK and some parts of Europe. Capturing the essence of Nepali food and culture, The company aims to continue serving the best products and spread to other parts of the world as well.

ABOUT CEO BIKASH NEPAL

Nepali entrepreneur Bikash Nepal, with a vision of giving back to the country, realized the issues and limitations of lack of Nepali products in the UK market. Thus, with his experience in marketing, he started this company to introduce and maintain premium quality Nepali products and establish a good market for Nepalese

(living abroad) as well as international consumers. Best Service delivery with premium quality products is their first priority as a brand.

Bikash Nepal was born in Nepal. He came to the U.K. as an international student to do my MBA in 2009 from University of Wales. In 2014, he opened his own marketing company called Market Direct Limited. While working for big Indian brands at the time , he was eager to work closely with a Nepali brand to establish them in the U.K. He therefore started importing Wai wai and till date he is the sole distributor of Khukuri Rum and Old Durbar in the U.K. Due to the restrictions of it being just a noodle and rum brand, Bikash felt he was not able to bring the taste and the cultural of Nepal which led him to form his own brand called Nepal Foods in 2018.

NEPAL FOODS: TAKING THE TASTE OF NEPAL TO THE WORLD

Nepal Foods as a brand was initiated in 2018 to bring the taste and culture of Nepal to the international market. Throughout the years, Nepalese people have been living as an expatriate around the world. Despite being away from their motherland, the authentic taste of home was always missed by many. Products which were available in the market did not meet the satisfactory standard of the consumers, due to the lack of good quality and packaging with mandatory labelling. In order to fulfil their cravings people started bringing food from Nepal during their visit, which would then be confiscated. Hence Nepal Foods took the initiative to fulfil the taste of home by importing products from Nepal which were great in quality and the consistency reflected by premium packaging.

Nepal Foods sourced the best products available from different parts of Nepal, packaged them neatly and got it imported into the UK to distribute. At that time, the concept of premium packaging in Nepali market was inconceivable. Nepal Foods faced many challenges due to the cost being slightly more expensive in comparison to other Nepali brands which were available in the market.

Despite those challenges, Nepal Foods preserved and has become a very well-known brand in every Nepali household here in the UK. Today they market around 118 products, sold in over 12 countries. Nepal Foods aim is to cater to all those Nepali consumers living around the globe and to allow international consumers to explore the gastronomic history of Nepal.

Since the establishment, Nepal Foods has insisted only on the best quality products to correspond to international standards from the packaging to the quality of products being delivered.

For the last few years, Nepal Foods has been known as the taste of home here in the UK and many other countries which all the Nepalese count on. Today, they move forward with pride and

joy to ensure our products reaches all Nepali and international consumers around the globe, making them feel at home- Nepal.

After completing his studies, he started his career as a sales advisor at British Gas. In 2014, he opened his own marketing company called Market Direct Limited. He worked closely with many big indian brands such as Dairy Valley, Haldiram, Kohinoor, Dabur etc. While working for big Indian brands, he was eager to work closely with a Nepali brand to establish in the U.K. He therefore, started importing Wai wai and is a sole distributor of khukuri Rum and Old Durbar in the U.K. Due to the limited restrictions of it being just a noodle and rum, he was not able to bring the taste and the cultural of Nepal which led for him to form his own brand called Nepal Foods in 2018.

MARGIN THE PERFECT SIPPING ARTISANAL GIN

MarGin’s founder Rachel Verghis is a gin sipping enthusiast. A former banker, a passionate art collector, philanthropist and a London based entrepreneur Rachel Verghis was inspired by an article about an artist who commissioned a perfumer to recreate the scent of the dollar bill, and she embarked upon her own quest to create a premium spirit imbued with the quintessence of a banknote.

On that quest she chanced upon the ‘white fiver’—the first fully printed five pound note issued by the Bank of England in 1793. Struck by the elegance and heritage of this iconic note, Rachel saw the perfect union of liquid and label for her artisanal gin brand. And so MarGin was born; a classic London dry gin, a tipple as cool, crisp and uncomplicated as a freshly printed ‘white fiver’, to be savoured like a smooth single malt or fine Cognac.

TASTING NOTES

Crisp and elegant on the nose, with plenty of pine, juniper and fine citrus notes supported by an intriguing selection of very subtle spices and herbs. It is a focused and neat expression with the cooling effect of the juniper highlighted beautifully. It has a nicely balanced, light and elegant set of aromas.

Dry and silky on the palate with a lovely zesty note supporting the cooling juniper and pine. It has a touch of richness to it on the finish but it stays very elegant and restrained. A delightful and versatile expression that works perfectly with classic Indian tonic water. The slightly higher, more premium alcohol level is beautifully integrated, and it works very well.

BOTANICALS

Avoiding the temptation to distill a cacophony of flavours, our expertly crafted spirit contains a carefully balanced infusion of 3 main botanicals. Alongside the essential Juniper are Pink Hyssop and Cotton Lavender, botanicals seldom found in contemporary gin formulas.

Such a restrained recipe allows for a very high ABV of 44%, yet delivers an exceptionally

smooth mouthfeel. The perfect sipping gin. Cool, crisp and dry, it is best served neat over ice. It also makes an impeccable Gin & Tonic and the driest of Martinis.

THE LABEL

With a name derived from finance and a design inspired by the iconic ‘white fiver’ banknote, the monochromatic MarGin label is striking and distinctive. Following the style of the written word ‘five’ on the original bank note, the logo is in white against an intricate black border. Known as a ‘sum block’, it was an early form of anti-counterfeiting device, preventing the word ‘five’ from being altered to ‘fifty’. A peek through the back of the bottle reveals an actual ‘white fiver’ reproduced on the reverse of the label. MarGin is a proudly sustainable brand.

BKC A CULINARY JOURNEY FROM AWADH TO LONDON

BKC (Biryani Kebab Chai), with its thriving locations in London Marble Arch and Soho, has become a culinary landmark in London. Renowned for its dedication to serving authentic Awadhi cuisine, BKC’s success lies in its ability to blend tradition with modern, sustainable practices, all while delivering a dining experience that captures the essence of India’s rich culinary heritage.

Founded by entrepreneur Jeet Mitra and led by the culinary expertise of Head Chef Arsh Thakur, BKC has been winning over food enthusiasts since its opening in 2022. "Our mission at BKC has always been to bring the deep flavours and traditions of Awadhi cuisine to London," says Mitra. "It’s incredibly fulfilling to see how Londoners have embraced our vision of showcasing India’s culinary heritage while ensuring sustainability and community engagement."

BKC’s story is steeped in the opulent history of kitchens of Awadh, a region famed for its elaborate feasts and meticulous culinary practices. In the

17th century, the Nawabs of Awadh perfected the art of Dum Pukht, a slow-cooking method that seals in flavours by cooking food in a sealed pot. BKC honours this legacy with dishes like the Lakhnawi Lamb Biryani, where marinated lamb and fragrant basmati rice, layered with saffron and rose water, are slow-cooked in a traditional handi. Each bite of this biryani transports diners from the bustling streets of London to the royal courts of Lucknow.

AUTHENTIC INGREDIENTS, RICH FLAVOURS

BKC’s commitment to authenticity is evident in its careful selection of ingredients. The spices used in BKC’s dishes are sourced directly from Lucknow, where generations of spice merchants have perfected their blends. These spices—earthy cumin, fragrant saffron, aromatic cardamom—are the backbone of Awadhi cuisine, infusing each dish with depth and complexity.

The Galouti Kebab is a prime example of this dedication. Originally created for a Nawab who could no longer chew his food, this kebab is

made with minced lamb and a secret blend of 130 spices, resulting in a delicacy so tender it melts in the mouth. BKC’s menu offers a range of such delights, from the smoky Boti Kebab to the delicately spiced Nadru Galouti, each celebrating tradition and flavour.

Even the Kathi Roll, a beloved street food across India, has its roots in history, created during the Raj as a convenient way for officials to enjoy kebabs on the go. At BKC, these rolls are elevated to new heights with offerings like Lamb, Chicken and Paneer Kathi Roll. Each roll is a handheld feast, with juicy kebabs wrapped in flaky parathas.

The restaurant is proudly local and sources the freshest of British produce, ensuring that every dish is made with high-quality ingredients that support local farmers. BKC’s commitment to sustainability is further reflected in its choice of crockery and handis, crafted by local London potters. With accolades like the Asian Curry Award 2023 and recognition from Forbes as the Best Newcomer Restaurant in 2022, BKC has established itself as a culinary destination par excellence.

COASTAL ELEGANCE: THE DIPPING LUGGER

REDEFINES LUXURY IN ULLAPOOL

Standing majestically on the shore of Loch Broom, facing the moutains, the Dipping Lugger offers a unique Highland experience.

Owners Robert and Helen took stewardship of The Dipping Lugger in 2018. A former manse which dates back to 1789 and was partially rebuilt by Thomas Telford in 1829, they both have lovingly and painstakingly restored it into a luxury retreat and restaurant overlooking the shores of Loch Broom. Their eighteen cover restaurant features 'The Tasting Room'; an intimate two table dining room that doubles as a gin sampling room, where guests can enjoy a dram of their own award winning 'Seven Crofts'.

Inspired by Robert Melville, the colourful character from Dunbar, appointed as the first contractor and merchant by The British Fisheries Society in 1789 to establish Ullapool as a fishing port. Robert Melville was tasked with building the pier, storehouses and the first houses, one of which was his and would go on to become the site of The Dipping Lugger.

The owners have worked with some inspirational people along the way to realise their dream they say, from Eve's interior

design wizardry, to Simon's shutters and the front door, Jamie's green fingers, Charlotte's artistry, David's bespoke pottery glazed using the very rock they stand on and everyone in between, their joiners, builders, electricians, plumbers and decorators, they wanted to create something that they both and their children could be proud of…something they are proud to share with guests.

Their three perfectly proportioned rooms offer a unique, luxurious highland experience. With views over the loch towards the mountains.

Situated on the first floor with views over the current pier and down Loch Broom to the Fannichs in the distance, Melville offers sumptuous sleeping, relaxing and bathing. Melville comprises a super king size bed, Roberts internet radio, TV, Nespresso coffee machine, wifi, a dressing area for pampering and an en suite with free standing bath and separate walk in shower. Fluffy towels, robes, slippers and exquisite toiletries will aid your relaxation. Guests can also enjoy the spoils of their ‘Sweet Shop’ for the duration of their stay.

The kitchen is headed up by Head

Chef David Smith, whose tasting menu showcases some of the fantastic produce that surrounds them including some of the seafood that Ullapool is famous for.

A tasting menu of seven courses is served at dinner, four courses at lunch. A Gourmet Breakfast is served too but to overnighting guests only. The dining room has space for 18, though it feels cozier than that. The Scottish-contemporary menu is seriously ambitious, thoughtful, meticulously executed stuff. This is the sort of cooking, in the sort of setting, that gets strangers

talking across the room, ooh-ing and ahing and comparing notes.

The restaurant has a warm, intimate atmosphere and a charming setting that reflects the coastal surroundings of Ullapool. The decor is sophisticated yet comfortable, providing a relaxed dining experience with a touch of elegance. Dishes are flavorful, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. The tasting menus allows guests to experience a variety of culinary delights.

The service at The Dipping Lugger is attentive and friendly. Staff are knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairings, providing excellent recommendations and enhancing the overall dining experience. The combination of exceptional food, excellent service, and a pleasant atmosphere makes it a must-visit for those in the area. If you're looking for a memorable dining experience in Ullapool, The Dipping Lugger is a top choice. In a nutshell this place is a total Staycation Bliss, A Luxurious Retreat in Ullapool. Highly Recommended.

FROM LAW TO LINGERIE

THE 27-YEAR-OLD WHO BUILT A £1.2 MILLION ONE-OF-A-KIND LINGERIE EMPIRE FROM HER BEDROOM

Sofia Panwar is a British entrepreneur who left her graduate job as a paralegal to launch Unndr, the UK’s first monthly lingerie subscription business. She grew it to a seven-figure empire in just two years from her bedroom at her parent’s house.

Founded two years ago, the lingerie subscription club now has 4,000+ monthly subscribers, has accumulated over 300k social media followers in the last six months alone, and made £1.2million revenue last year.

Unndr offers women the opportunity to either subscribe to a monthly or quarterly box, which contains a lingerie set that has been curated and designed by their in-house team. Delivering confidence to every customer each box is £37, shipping to the UK and internationally including US, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and India.

The almost accidental entrepreneur, Sofia says her ‘naivety was my superpower when I started out.’ Not overthinking anything, Sofia launched Instagram for the business the same day she had the idea, as a way to gauge interest in the concept.

SOFIA EXPLAINS: “I came up with the idea of a lingerie subscription service and made the Instagram page there and then. We started to get followers quite quickly and I was receiving DMs daily from women who wanted to know more about the service. I was essentially collating a waiting list for when we launched. In the meantime, I invested hours and hours into researching styles, colours and manufacturers to bring my vision to life.”

“I wanted to break the mould and create a brand for women to embrace their confidence and individuality for themselves. I wanted Unndr to be a part of a woman’s self-care journey. A monthly feel-good package, direct to your door!”

After leaving her job in law, just four months after starting Unndr, Sofia focused solely on the business day in, day out, investing £5k from savings she and her boyfriend had in stock and branding. Revenue reached £45k in the first year, but rocketed to over £1million in the second year, with no outside investment.

Sofia credits the rapid growth to the brand’s social media success, with multiple videos going viral and the brand becoming known for its creative social media marketing. Sofia, who is self-taught on social media, explains: “We had around 10k followers last August, to now over 300k. I haven’t had any social media training, but I have a natural eye when shooting and aim to create a sensory experience for the consumer.”

In April 2024, Sofia moved the business out of her bedroom and moved into a spacious office in London. Sofia has ambitious plans for Unndr’s continued growth including collection expansions, customer experiences and pop-up shops in some of the UK’s best known retail districts.

Sonia grew up in a traditional South Asian family where marriage was viewed as an unbreakable institution, and divorce was almost unthinkable. However, after her own marriage came to an end, Sonia made the bold decision to not only embrace her divorce but to celebrate it as a fresh start. In an act of radical selfempowerment, she hosted a “divorce party” — an event that symbolized her commitment to redefining what success and happiness look like on her own terms. The celebration was not just a personal milestone but also a declaration: self-worth should never be dictated by outdated cultural norms.

This defiant celebration sparked critical conversations within her community about the meaning of self-worth, the importance of prioritizing personal happiness, and the power of embracing one's truth, even when it goes against tradition. Sonia’s experience resonated with many who felt overwhelmed by societal expectations but longed for the freedom to make their own choices.

CHAMPIONING AUTHENTICITY AND PERSONAL WELLBEING

Since her own transformation, Sonia has made it her mission to help others navigate similar challenges. As a relationship and

COACH REDEFINING SELF-WORTH IN SOUTH ASIAN RELATIONSHIPS

In a world where marriage is often seen as a cornerstone of cultural identity and divorce a source of shame, Sonia Gupta, a relationship and divorce coach from East London, is challenging these long-held narratives and paving a new path for personal empowerment and self-worth within South Asian communities.

divorce mentor, she supports individuals at various crossroads in their relationships. Her approach is centered on empowering clients to make decisions that align with their true selves, rather than succumbing to the pressure of cultural or familial expectations.

Sonia's coaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that "Your happiness is not a sacrifice for the sake of tradition or other people's opinions," she asserts. "You have the right to live a life that brings you peace, fulfillment, and joy." In her work, she encourages clients to redefine their sense of self-worth, not through the lens of marriage or societal validation, but through personal growth, resilience, and self-discovery.

Through one-on-one coaching sessions, group workshops, and online resources, Sonia provides a compassionate space for individuals to explore their feelings, uncover their values, and make choices that honor their emotional and mental wellbeing. Her work isn’t just about helping people through divorce or relationship struggles—it’s about guiding them toward personal transformation and growth. Her approach is grounded in respect for her clients’ backgrounds while offering the tools to break free from limiting beliefs.

AN UPCOMING BOOK

Sonia’s work is set to extend beyond coaching into the realm of authorship. Her upcoming book promises to be a comprehensive guide to navigating personal transformation, resilience, and self-worth. Through the pages of her book, Sonia hopes to provide readers with the tools they need to overcome societal conditioning, embrace their true selves, and cultivate healthy, fulfilling relationships — whether that’s with themselves or others.

“Through my journey, I’ve learned that resilience isn’t just about surviving, but about thriving in the face of adversity,” Sonia says. “My book will offer insights and strategies for anyone looking to rediscover their sense of self-worth and embrace their own narrative, regardless of where they come from or what society expects of them. By openly sharing my struggles and triumphs, I aim to showcase a relatable narrative. I look forward to connecting with audiences at events, inspiring them to embrace their true selves unapologetically. Together, we will build a community that prioritises mental wellbeing and empowers everyone to reclaim their unique stories.”

IN CONVERSATION WITH MEDIA STALWART, PARUL GOEL:

TERRITORY HEAD UK, EUROPE AND CFO UK, EUROPE, AMERICAS, ZEE TV.

Can you share your journey that led you to become the Territory head and CFO of Zee TV UK and Europe? What were some pivotal moments along the way?

I joined Zee way back in 2007. Working for Zee was a dream come true as I grew up watching Zee and then growing in my career with Zee, the biggest Indian Household brand which everyone knows, is an honour. It began with my deep-seated passion for media and entertainment, which led me to grow and learn not just the finance job I was doing, but sales, distribution, legal affairs, compliance, content and programming, content acquisition, business expansion, strategic marketing, and business planning, I have learnt and executed all aspects of it. I am still learning each day because in media and content, we learn something everyday.

My commitment and keen eye for strategic growth soon caught the attention of senior leadership. A significant turning point was spearheading a critical project that improved our revenue streams while cutting costs. Zee being a pioneer, I always wanted to keep that flag high, that’s when first time ever, we launched first free HD channel in the UK, first Bollywood channel in Germany, first Indian Food channel in the U.K., first OTT platform (ditto tv), and now first Indian FAST channels in the UK and many countries across Europe. With the team’s support and management guidance, I have managed to turnaround the Europe’s business in last 3 years. But the journey has just started, still a long way to go! Another defining moment was when we faced a major market disruption. Instead of viewing it as a setback, I saw it as an opportunity. My team and I worked tirelessly to adapt our strategies, pivoting

to digital platforms and enhancing content distribution. This adaptability and foresight paid off, cementing my role in a leadership capacity.

What inspired you to pursue a career in media and broadcasting?

Growing up, I was captivated by Bollywood movies, daily soaps, and the sheer variety of narratives that reflected our India's rich culture. I saw how these stories could captivate, inform, and transform people, and I wanted to be a part of that magic. The constant evolution of content, from traditional films and TV shows to the rise of biggest digital platforms. I loved the idea of working in an industry that was always innovating and pushing creative boundaries. It was this blend of passion for content, curiosity about the industry's evolution, and a desire to make a difference that led me to this exciting and fulfilling career path.

Can you highlight a particular achievement during your time with Zee TV that you are especially proud of?

There are many! From just two Tv channels last year, we are now going to be with 7 channels across the platforms and our streaming app, making us the largest Indian broadcaster in Europe.Recently, in last one year, we ventured into new FAST space and are now the largest Indian content provider across Europe, on multiple platforms, and in more than 4 languages, reaching tens of millions of households. This achievement reinforced Zee TV’s reputation as a global leader in entertainment.

What key lessons have you learned from your experiences in the industry?

Firstly, Content is King! High-quality, engaging content is the bedrock of success. if you have a compelling storytelling that connects with audiences it is irreplaceable. Secondly, Relationships Are Everything. Building and nurturing relationships with stakeholders, platform partners, and audiences is fundamental. Trust and collaboration often lead to opportunities and growth that purely transactional interactions might miss.

Who or what has been your greatest source of inspiration throughout your career?

My greatest inspiration comes from within. Perseverance and focus have been my greatest sources of inspiration throughout my career. I embody the philosophy of relentless pursuit—I do not stop until I achieve my goals. This mindset of manifesting thoughts into reality has driven me to accomplish what I set out to do. I never view anything as impossible. Instead, I believe everything is within reach. If I do not achieve it, someone else will, so the thought of failure or giving up never crosses my mind. This unwavering determination propels me forward.

What is your vision for Zee UK/ Europe in the coming years, and how do you plan to drive that vision forward?

My vision for Zee UK in the coming years is to solidify our position further as a global leader in media and entertainment. We aim to leverage fully tech-enabled content delivery capabilities, offering a one-stop shop for our audiences to access all the content they need in one place. All the while, we stay committed to our cultural roots of storytelling and continue to serve as an ambassador of Indian culture and reaching more than 75million viewers across Europe in next few years, by focusing on Digital Transformation and Market Expansion.

How do you ensure Zee UK stays relevant to its audience in a rapidly changing media landscape?

Staying relevant means constant engagement and continually innovating.

Whether it's using new tech, exploring fresh content formats, or adopting novel distribution methods, innovation keeps audiences engaged and businesses competitive. Tailoring content to resonate with local audiences while keeping a global appeal is a delicate but essential balance.

What trends do you see shaping the future of television and entertainment, particularly for South Asian audiences?

Our SA audiences have become very mature. If you notice, they consume content not just in one language, but a south asian is consuming content in at-least 3-4 languages, e.g., a Gujarati speaking person is watching Gujarati content, Hindi content, and English content, in addition to various other international content dubbed in either Hindi or English or even Gujarati. So, I would say, Indian content owners are facing the biggest challenge internationally to cater to their SA audiences because their competition is with West. Maximum Consumption of content is taking place on big screen (TVs), and it will remain so. There are many ways to deliver/ distribute content to the audiences which is evolving to such a fast pace. As a media and entertainment company, content and tech go hand in hand now and there are no two ways about it. Once you produce any content, then to ensure that it reaches your audiences is also equally important on a right device or a right platform wherever that audiences are consuming the content.

In what ways does Zee TV UK engage in social responsibility or community initiatives?

We are the only Indian network who are producing and showing a local community programme from past 25+ years - Out and

about. We cover more than 100+ community events each year, which comprises of award shows, festivities, community gatherings/ functions, etc. We highlight achievements of our South Asians by joining and collaborating with other partners. Zee TV UK is deeply committed to social responsibility and community initiatives.

What advice would you give to young professionals looking to build a career in the media and entertainment industry?

First and foremost, be genuine and honest. Commit fully to your craft and be prepared to give it your all. UK media entertainment industry is approx £50bn+, so, aim high. The media landscape is ever-changing with new technologies and platforms emerging regularly. Embracing change and staying flexible is crucial for staying relevant and successful. Dreams do come true, so dream big!

A JOURNEY THROUGH MAURITIUS:

EXPLORING SUGARWORLD, LA VALLÉE DES COULEURS, CHÂTEAU DE LABOURDONNAIS, CAUDAN WATERFRONT, AND AAPRAVASI GHAT

Mauritius, an island paradise nestled in the Indian Ocean, offers a blend of natural beauty, cultural heritage, and rich history. As a first-time visitor, you will find yourself immersed in an experience that ranges from lush landscapes and vibrant culture to fascinating historical sites. Let us take you on a journey to explore some of the island's must-see attractions, each offering a unique glimpse of its heart and soul.

SUGARWORLD - A SWEET START TO THE ADVENTURE

Begin your journey at Sugarworld, located in the village of Beau Plan in the north of Mauritius. This is a place where the island’s sugar production heritage comes to life. As you step into the expansive Sugarworld complex, you'll first be introduced to the history of sugar on the island, one of the key elements that shaped Mauritius. The museum, housed in a charming sugar factory, walks you through the stages of sugar production—from harvesting the cane to processing it into the sweet product we all know and love.

Don’t miss the interactive exhibits, which provide a deep dive into the historical importance of sugar for both the island’s economy and its cultural evolution. The best part of the visit? A tour through the Sugar Museum, which is followed by a tasting of Mauritian rum and sugar-based treats in the onsite shop. It's a great way to start your trip with a sweet taste of Mauritius’ rich history. After exploring Sugarworld, relax at the nearby Beau Plan Nature Park, which offers stunning views of the lush, green surroundings and is perfect for a peaceful walk.

LA VALLÉE DES COULEURSNATURE'S COLOR PALETTE

For a complete contrast to Sugarworld, head south to La Vallée des Couleurs. A sprawling nature park, La Vallée is famous for its unique seven-colored earth, a natural phenomenon caused by the volcanic soil, which has formed vibrant hues of red, brown, violet, blue, green, and yellow. It’s a sight you won't soon forget!

The park also offers a range of activities including quad biking, zip-lining, and walking trails that lead you through lush forests, waterfalls, and lakes. If you’re a nature enthusiast or love outdoor adventures, this is a perfect spot to immerse yourself in the island’s natural beauty.

For a more serene experience, take a stroll

around the park and soak in the panoramic views of the valley and surrounding mountains. The landscape is unlike anything else, with dramatic vistas, tranquil ponds, and dense tropical vegetation.

CHÂTEAU DE LABOURDONNAISSTEP BACK IN TIME

On day three, make your way to Château de Labourdonnais, a magnificent colonial mansion set amid expansive orchards in the northern part of the island. This grand estate offers a fascinating glimpse into the island’s history, particularly its colonial past.

The beautifully restored château transports you to the 19th century, with its elegant architecture, vintage furniture, and wellpreserved interiors. Learn about the history of the island’s aristocratic families, and explore the orchards that surround the estate, where you can sample local fruit and enjoy scenic views.

The château’s nearby distillery also offers tastings of its signature rum, and the onsite restaurant serves delicious Mauritian cuisine. The estate is a perfect blend of

culture, history, and nature—an idyllic way to immerse yourself in the island’s colonial heritage.

CAUDAN WATERFRONT - MAURITIAN ART AND CULTURE

On your fourth day, head to the Caudan Waterfront, located in the capital city of Port Louis. This lively area is perfect for shopping, dining, and discovering local art. It’s a hub of activity, where you can experience the fusion of traditional Mauritian culture with modern-day comforts.

Explore the Caudan Arts Centre, which showcases Mauritian art, crafts, and performances. Local artists sell their works at the Craft Market, where you can find everything from handmade jewelry to colorful textiles and sculptures. If

you're looking for souvenirs, this is the place to be.

Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the waterfront, taking in the views of the harbor and the iconic Le Morne Brabant mountain in the distance. There are also plenty of restaurants offering everything from local street food to gourmet dining. As the sun sets, enjoy a drink by the water and soak in the vibrant atmosphere of the area.

AAPRAVASI GHAT - A WALK THROUGH HISTORY

End your trip with a visit to the Aapravasi Ghat, an UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important historical landmarks in Mauritius. This site tells

the poignant story of indentured laborers who arrived from India in the 19th century to work on sugar plantations. The museum here offers a somber yet fascinating account of the lives of these workers, their struggles, and their contribution to the development of Mauritius.

The ruins of the former immigration depot where over half a million laborers passed through are remarkably preserved, offering a powerful historical narrative. A guided tour will help you understand the significance of Aapravasi Ghat and its importance in the island’s cultural and social history. The visit is a reflective and enlightening experience that connects

you with the resilience and history of the Mauritian people.

Mauritius is not just a tropical paradise— it’s an island rich in culture, history, and nature. From the sugar plantations and natural wonders of La Vallée des Couleurs to the colonial charm of Château de Labourdonnais and the vibrant atmosphere of the Caudan Waterfront, each stop on this itinerary offers something unique. Whether you're an adventure seeker, a history buff, or someone in search of beautiful landscapes, Mauritius has it all. With this itinerary, you can experience the island’s diverse facets, creating lasting memories of a journey through one of the most beautiful and culturally vibrant places in the world.

LABEL RASHMI KUMARI:

REDEFINING HAUTE COUTURE WITH SUBCONTINENTAL HAND EMBROIDER Y

Rashmi Kumari, a renowned name in the world of South Asian couture, has become synonymous with bold opulence and innovative design. Her signature style seamlessly blends the rich artistry of Indian and Pakistani craftsmanship, celebrating the shared cultural heritage that unites the two traditions. Having spent much of her career in Dubai before moving to Pakistan, Rashmi’s journey reflects a unique fusion of cross-border experiences and deeply personal heritage.

Her work is celebrated for its glamorous aesthetic and contemporary interpretations of traditional South Asian silhouettes, particularly the iconic sari. Rashmi has redefined these classic designs with modern flair, creating collections that not only honor tradition but also speak to the evolving tastes of women across generations and backgrounds. Through her innovative approach, she has cultivated a distinctive niche in the fashion industry, designing for women who value both cultural richness and contemporary sophistication.

Rashmi Kumari’s designs transcend borders, connecting a diverse audience through the threads of tradition, craftsmanship, and storytelling. Her collections are more than just clothing—they are a reflection of shared identity, elegance, and transformation.

The Modern Muse Edit by Rashmi Kumari is a celebration of a woman’s enduring connection to tradition, reimagined with a sleek, contemporary twist. The collection embodies a seamless blend of heritage and modern sophistication, crafted to perfection by skilled master artisans. Each silhouette is adorned

with delicate traditional motifs and intricate embroidery, weaving a tapestry of elegance and artistry that highlights the beauty of the feminine form. This stunning fusion of past and present pays homage to timeless style while embracing modern glamour.

Rashmi Kumari, a true powerhouse in the world of fashion, exemplifies her unwavering dedication to cultural exchange and her mission to redefine South Asian couture through her work and lifestyle. Each of her collections goes beyond mere garments, weaving together a shared narrative that celebrates the beauty, diversity, and interconnectedness of the subcontinent. Her brand represents a perfect fusion of modern vision and time-honored craftsmanship rooted in the region’s rich history.

“I take the cuts and patterns of the West and

pair them with the intricate embroidery of the East,” Rashmi explains. “These two aesthetics come together to create something truly unique—they’re the foundation of my designs. Fit is crucial, and impeccable craftsmanship is non-negotiable. I began my label because I recognized a gap in the market for affordable couture. Every time a woman wears one of my pieces, she doesn’t just wear clothing; she embodies confidence, comfort, and joy.

I’ve always designed with real women in mind—not some model size zero. And if that means a woman adds a good pair of Spanx to complete her look, so be it. Designing a flattering piece is all about the drape—the rest follows naturally.”

With her deep roots in both Indian and Pakistani fashion, renowned designer Rashmi Kumari is uniquely equipped to blend elements from both cultures into her designs. “With my label, artisans who were once separated by borders now come together to create these pieces,” Rashmi shared. This dedication to unity and heritage lies at the heart of her brand, where the artistry of pre-partition traditions is reimagined through contemporary design.

From the heart of Rajasthan’s deserts comes a whisky that blends the worlds of Indian heritage, sustainability, and mindful luxury. After earning accolades across the globe, Godawan Artisanal Indian Single Malt has made its much-anticipated debut in London, offering whisky enthusiasts a taste of exceptional Indian craftsmanship.

Produced by Diageo India’s Good Craft Co., Godawan is distilled in one of Asia’s most sustainable distilleries. This artisanal single malt is crafted from six-row Indian barley, known for its distinctive, richer flavour profile, and matured under the unique desert conditions of Rajasthan, which accelerates the ageing process. The final result is a whisky full of depth and unique character.

More than a spirit, Godawan is a symbol of purpose-driven luxury. Named after the critically endangered Great Indian Bustard, the whisky pays homage to this majestic bird, which is listed on the IUCN Red List. A portion of the proceeds from every bottle sold goes toward conserving the bird’s habitat, with a commitment to conservation and sustainability at the heart of the brand.

As Hina Nagarajan, CEO and Managing Director of Diageo India, puts it, “It’s not just about luxury—it’s about luxury with a purpose, which Godawan embodies in every facet.”

Whisky connoisseurs can indulge in two signature expressions, each crafted to cater to different flavour profiles. 01 Rich & Rounded appeals to those who enjoy sweeter, softer notes, offering a delightful bouquet of caramel, raisin, and apricot. These flavours are derived from ageing in PX sherry and American oak casks, resulting in a smooth and indulgent sip. On the other hand, 02 Fruit & Spice is a bold expression with vibrant hints of sweet ginger, coconut, and coffee, achieved through maturation in virgin oak and cherrywood casks.

Now available across London at £65, Godawan offers a whisky experience that transcends taste, weaving together tradition, innovation, and sustainability. As whisky lovers explore its layered flavours, they also contribute to a larger purpose—supporting conservation and celebrating Indian craftsmanship.
