he HSE recognised very early on that the scale of the Healthy Ireland agenda would take vision, organisational and system changes and a radical shift in culture. It called on every individual in the health services and all its partners to build momentum for a larger scale movement for change at an individual and organisational level. The Healthy Ireland in the Health Services Progress Report 2015-2020 was officially launched in November 2021. The production of this report was an opportunity to reflect on the achievements over this time and will help focus and plan for the next phase of this work. Over 90% of the 126 specific actions have been fully delivered, with the bulk of them relating to on-going activities. The remaining actions are close to completion, with a very small number (3%) having been superseded in the interim. The implementation of these 126 large-scale actions was embraced through collaborative working with national strategic direction and local ownership. They have been taken on with energy and creativity, employing critical thinking and strategic capability and robust programme management. Our National Policy Priority programme brings leadership and high-level expertise to support the development of evidence-based policy and practice, with their programmes being central in supporting the delivery of high-quality health and wellbeing services with our partners internally and externally. During the launch, Dr Stephanie O’Keeffe, former Director for Strategic Planning and Transformation, noted the tremendous efforts and commitment across our Community Healthcare Organisations and Hospital Groups. New governance structures have been

We were all in for some spectacular surprises and treats during the 2021 HSE Staff Christmas concert. Over 700 staff joined in to watch or perform on the day which was packed from start to finish with Christmas choral and Festive cheer. A further 706 viewed the concert via the HSE Health and Wellbeing You Tube Channel the following day. Many of the HSE’s choirs from across the length and breadth of the country performed a selection of popular Christmas songs and hymns, showcasing the fantastic talent among our staff. There were many words of praise, encouragement and thanks from our very own CEO, Paul Reid, the famous Niall Horan, the radiant Derval O’Rourke, the wonderful Daniel O’Donnell and a special interview from HSE employee, Noreen Rafferty from the Rafferty Family Band. Comments, chats and well wishes came flooding in throughout the performances thanking everyone for a wonderful concert and wishing each other good health and happiness in the spirit of Christmas.
