Baseball... Dominicans are passionate about baseball, our national sport, for which we are recognized internationally by the performance of many excellent Dominicans players in Major League Baseball. If you come to the country during winter, you must go to the play and enjoy a game, especially one with the eternal baseball rivals: Licey and Aguila.

Music... The Dominican Republic is well recognized by its music. Merengue, Bachata and Merengue Típico are the best expression of the culture of the Dominican Republic. Musicians like Juan Luis Guerra, Romeo Santos, Sergio Vargas, Wilfrido Vargas, Fernando Villalona, amongst others well recognized artist, have taken our musical rhythm worldwide. Dominican Bachata was declared by The UNESCO, in 2019, as an intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, a great honor for the Dominicans.
Guananico in Puerto Plata, is considered to be the place where Merengue Típico was borned, which originally was Only played with three instruments: guira, accordion and drums.
