Retirement is not the end of the road. It is the beginning of the open highway- unknown. This is the beginning of the next leg of the relay, so grab your baton and continue the journey.
As we reflect on the memories and impact of the combined two hundred and thirtyeight years of knowledge, expertise, and service, your invaluable dedication to the growth and development of the College of Business and Management (COBAM), the University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech, Ja.), and the region has been instrumental in influencing the success and culture of our University, nation, and region.
We are fortunate to work in an educational institution, that, by the nature of its existence encourages us to challenge the status quo and bring new ideas to the fore. We will miss your voices and presence in the very spirited discussions.
It is with mixed emotions that we celebrate your retirement, while we are excited to celebrate your many accomplishments and contributions, we are also saddened to see you redeployed. We wish you all the best on the next leg of this relay of life. May you enjoy every moment and embrace all of the new opportunities that come your way. We hope that you will look back on your time with this institution with a sense of pride and accomplishment, knowing that you have made a lasting impact on our organisation and the future of our nation.
I take this opportunity to thank you, on behalf of the COBAM, the UTech. Ja. Community and all other stakeholders for all that you have done. You have left an indelible mark on our organisation, and your legacy will continue to motivate us for years to come.
Congratulations on your retirement, and may your future be filled with happiness, health, and many wonderful adventures
Dr. Andrea Sutherland Dean, College of Business and ManagementIn many ways, our lives follow the pattern of the rest of the created order. We pass through various seasons – some are “do” seasons and others are “due” seasons. Like the farmer who prepares the soil, plants the seeds, and tends the crops, we spend much time and energy doing that to which we are called and then wait to reap the harvest in “due” season.
Our School family has been blessed by the time, effort, knowledge, and skills that you have sown in the lives of your students, colleagues, and the wider university community during your “do” season in the School of Business Administration SOBA. Today we celebrate with pride as we reflect together on the harvest of your various contributions –the modules and programmes introduced and developed, the business professionals and owners, you shaped and inspired, the meaningful work and life experiences you shared with your colleagues, and your very unique personality and style, all of which provides pleasant memories and the inspiration needed to preserve our rich legacy that is SOBA
The School has been blessed by your presence and continues to benefit from your advice, expertise, and wisdom. Be assured that your impact is immeasurable and so is our prayer for blessings upon you “through all the changing scenes of life”.
Fred Rogers once said, “Often when you think you’re at the end of something you’re at the beginning of something else”
On behalf of the Joan Duncan School of Entrepreneurship Ethics and Leadership, (JDSEEL), we would like to express our sincere thanks to Mr. Steele and Mrs. McNaughton on the occasion of their retirement Your contribution to our school was immeasurable and you have left a lasting and impressive legacy.
Mr. Steele, your contribution as Head of School has paved the way for our success over the past years. We owe you a debt of gratitude for your invaluable contribution. Mrs. McNaughton, you have touched the lives of everyone at JDSEEL in a positive manner
The time you spent advising students over the years was well appreciated. We wish you Godspeed in your retirement.
I take this opportunity to wish the retirees all the very best. Your contribution to the COBAM Family was well appreciated by the students and colleagues you have touched over the years.
“There are far better things ahead than we ever leave behind.” -C.S.
LewisAs you undertake a new chapter in your lives, we take this opportunity to express our deep appreciation and full recognition of your years of dedicated service to this institution. Your contributions to the University of Technology, Jamaica, the College of Business and Management, and the various Schools within the College that you have served, have been immeasurable, and your commitment to excellence has inspired us all.
Your retirement from this institution marks the end of an era here, but it also signals the beginning of new and more exciting adventures ahead in this journey of life
We wish you all the best as you move forward, and we hope that you will take with you many fond memories and friendships that you have made along the way.
Thank you for all that you have contributed and done, and congratulations on a welldeserved retirement On to the next chapter of life Ms Janeen McNish, on behalf of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, we say, thank you for all that you have done during your tenure at the School, your contribution is fully recognized and appreciated
To all of you be reminded to “Retire from work, but not from life.”-
