News from Arlesey Toddler Group
Arlesey Toddler Group are a friendly group of parents and childcarers who meet every Thursday morning in term-time in Arlesey Village Hall. We have enjoyed an exciting term of themed sessions, allowing the children to play, learn and explore. We began the term with French week, making flags, trying delicious French foods and even singing in French thanks to a special visit from Louise (BilinguaSing)! Then we had ‘Winter Week’ - the children found animals in a tray of snow, ate frozen snacks and heard a story about a penguin! We celebrated Chinese new year with firework painting and tried lots of new Chinese foods, including fortune cookies kindly donated by Millenium takeaway. Before half term, we learned about insects, making butterfly pictures, moulding insects from playdough, finding insects in a messy tray of ‘grass’ , singing new nursery rhymes about spiders and making fruit butterflies to eat at snack time.
Then came pancake day where we decorated our own pancakes with lots of delicious toppings, and then dinosaur week, which was particularly popular! Some children even came dressed up in dinosaur costumes and clothes! We are now looking forward to Jungle Week, making Mother’s Day cards, a Teddy Bear’s Picnic and an Easter party with an Easter egg hunt before the holidays! In addition to craft, messy play, singing, story time and snack time, we have a large range of toys available to appeal to all ages from newborn to age 5. We even have a bouncy castle on special days! All parents and carers of under 5s are welcome to come along any week, for just £3 per household (including all activities, snacks and tea/coffee). Ask to join ‘Arlesey Toddler Group’ on facebook to register and for further information if you’d like to come along.
