ARKEN Museum of Contemporary Art

Come aboard ARKEN Museum of Contemporary Art in Ishøj just south of Copenhagen and experience world class art and architecture. ARKEN lies like a stranded ship a stone's throw from Køge Bay and is beautifully placed in the surrounding beach park. The building, which is one of the most distinctive edifices of the 1990s, definitely merits a visit in itself. Inside visitors can enjoy internationally rated art exhibitions. In 2013 the museum presents several special exhibitions and a permanent exhibition, which contains Danish, Northern and international art from 1990 onwards, including works by British artist Damien Hirst and the German artist Anselm Reyle.
