A note from the SGA

We hope you are having a great first half to your 2024-2025 school year!

There is a lot of fun being planned for the rest of the year The SGA would like to thank all of those who participated during No Shave November and the Christmas themed events

Good luck on all of your exams and continue to work hard More information has been included on page 4 on how to find your exam location.

On December 4th, the SGA sponsored a Live Shaving Event as a culmination of the No Shave November program. Along with the 6 faculty members on the left, SGA President, Tyler Brown, and Junior, Joseph Troiano, shaved their heads on stage. The SGA would like to thank all of those that supported this great cause in raising over $1500!!!

The SGA would like to thank those who participated in the Christmas sweater days from December 10-16th. This was a great time to get into the Holiday spirit and wear the new Curley Christmas sweaters!

The Reindeer Games

This year, the SGA wanted to have some Holiday fun before going on break. On Friday, December 13th, there were some Christmas themed games such as a Christmas Tree decorating relay race and a milk and cookies eating competition. The Juniors were the winners of all the classes but couldn’t beat the faculty members (Mrs. Wysocki, Mrs. Kunkoski, and Mrs. Vandergriff) with the tree and Mr. Ayd also swept in the eating competition.

gUnfortunately, the SGA was unable to host a Christmas Door Decorating contest due to limited times where faculty advisory would meet. However, future dates and other Holidays are being considered like Valentine’s Day or St. Patrick’s Day! Be on the lookout for those.

Gift Giving

Santa Claus made a surprise visit this year delivering some gifts to six faculty members.

Mr. Pav—Sleeping Bag to not drive every day

Friar Chris—New Sandals to jump on his room’s tables

Mrs. Jenkins—Hat/Gloves cause its cold in Canada

Mr. Snarski—Superman t-shirt (Clark Kent look-alike)

Mr. McCue—Fake Beard to not be seen as a student

Mr. Joseph—Dress Code Relay Race participation trophy and Dress/Grooming Pass

The last week of December is exam week. Make sure you are studying hard and preparing for these important tests. Information regarding Wednesday and Thursday’s exams can be found below. Makeups are on Friday. Good luck!

Curley Fantasy Football League

Thank you for your participation in the Fantasy Football League for each of the classes. As of now, the teachers are projected to win the league with a strong start in the first week of round 1 of the playoffs. The Juniors and Sophomores are still battling for the consolation spots. The seniors and staff have a close matchup. Make sure to continue to support your team by submitting your weekly picks sent out on the google form by your team manager. Good luck!

ITEMS ARE IN!

The Back Your Brother program is ready for students to start redeeming their points for prizes starting when we return from Christmas break. So far, the sunglasses and wristbands have been shipped and the others are expected soon. More updates will be given on times to redeem the items and when the others come in.

Point Values

Point values for each item:

Wristband = 2 points

Sunglasses = 3 points

Phone Pocket = 3 points

Executive Board

16oz Stainless Steel Mug = 4 points

Student Section T-Shirt = 7 points

The Executive Board has worked hard with the rest of the SGA to have a great first half to the year. The Christmas assembly was a success, and we are excited to look forward for future plans in the 2025 school year. It is coming time for the Polar Bear Plunge charity event again, and we are looking at future plans into the Spring.

Seniors

The Senior class officers, President Nguyen Burrell and VP Joe Curry, are working on finalizing Senior Prom. Senior sweaters have been distributed and the t-shirt has been decided.

Sophomores

The Sophomore class, led by Dylan Sadler and Drew Hacke, plans to host another mixer this year in the winter. The class of ‘27 is continuing to sell pendants as a fundraiser for their class.

Juniors

Junior class president, Cody Rice, and VP, Scott Brown, would like to thank all Juniors for a successful Ring Ceremony. And they look forward to Junior Prom!

Freshmen

Freshman President, Tommy Needer, and Vice President, Joe Jordan, would like to thank all of those who came and supported Greccio. Also, they are working on the winter mixer.
