Over the years, I have had opportunities to speak with previous Curley friar-administrators. Some of them, like Fr. Robert, principal 1967-71, or Fr. David, principal 197176 (both now deceased), would reflect on how different my role was from what they were called upon to do. They faced the challenges of a young school, building traditions, but with few worries about maintaining enrollment or costly renovations. Since they used a desk phone, typewriter, and mimeograph machine, they noted the impact of cell phones, computers, and high speed copiers. In the 1960s and 1970s, one dealt with the current students, and had virtually no contact with alumni, for there was no Annual Fund or other Advancement efforts. Today, certainly interact as much with alumni as with current students.
Over the decades, schools like Curley have come to speak of their mission, usually summarized in a Mission Statement. There are also aspirations that the school has for students, and seeing that these values are still embraced by graduates attests to the value of the mission. Over time, schools like Curley set up a Development Office, which then grew into an Advancement Office. Some schools have a position with a title like “Director of Mission Effectiveness.” Curley has no such title, but it is a primary responsibility of the school president to make sure the mission is carried through. Certainly Curley’s other administrators, faculty, and especially the team in the Advancement Office, are also attuned to that task, and contribute invaluably to it.
This year’s Annual Report reflects on the Curley Mission. The many pages of names also attest as to why the mission is able to continue. I hope the Report helps you to better appreciate the school’s mission, and I pray that God will bless each of you for your generosity and prayers that make so much possible.

As the end of my second year as the School Board Chair comes to a close, look back at all the great events that have taken place at Curley that I have had the privilege of seeing firsthand. From Homecoming, Open House, soccer games, band concerts, to the Gala, Blackfriars’ Theater productions and Cornerstone Day, I reflect on how so many people have shown their love for Curley in so many ways.
I see the difference Curley makes in the lives of the young men that attend here. I may be biased, but I believe Archbishop Curley High School provides best in class education, and an exceptional environment to cultivate a deep and meaningful life of faith, character, discipline and service to others.

Curley’s college counseling office works with every student for their college choices at an early stage. Members of the Class of 2024 were accepted to 205 colleges in 35 different states.

Members of the Michael J. Curley Legacy Trust have expressed their commitment to Archbishop Curley High School through a very special and important form of financial support.
These donors have named Curley as the ultimate beneficiary of a planned gift. Such gifts might include a bequest and/or charitable income gifts such as charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder unitrusts, charitable remainder annuity trusts. Donors can make a gift of life insurance by making Curley the irrevocable owner and beneficiary of a policy.
Your membership involves no dues or obligations, but it does allow us to thank you and recognize you for the plans you have made, and it may inspire generosity in others.
How It Works
• Include a bequest to Archbishop Curley High School in your will or trust.
• Make your bequest unrestricted or direct it to a specific purpose.
• Indicate a specific amount, or a percentage of the balance remaining in your estate or trust.
