1. The Learning KIVA – Taramandal'16 (Main Campus) 13 - 14 February 2016 “We do not remember days, we remember moments.” – Cesare Pavese One of the most anxiously awaited occasions in any school was the Annual Event. The event – The Learning KIVA (Taramandal-2016) at Aparna World School saw life and energy being propelled on 13th and 14th February, 2016. The event commenced with the inaugural func on where the auspicious lamp lightening took place followed by the welcome of resource persons by the Principal. Anchors Sravani and Pran ka extended their profound wishes and welcomed the audience gathered. Girls of Class III-VI presented “Saraswa Vandana”, a gleaming dance performance as a tribute to Maa Saraswa , the “goddess of knowledge” which was choreographed by Ms. Aparna Kaviraj. As Saraswa Puja was on the same day so the event was a fi ng tribute to the Goddess of Learning. As a part of the Learning Kiva following were the resource person whose presence added value to the event: Ÿ Mr. Syed Fazil, mo vator and creator of Human so ware program from Raipur conducted a paren ng workshop on “Child First”. This workshop focused on paren ng and improving communica on between children and their parents. He also conducted simple ac vi es and shared his wisdom with parents. He tried to solve the problems of parents and mentored parents for the holis c development of their children. He was in such a great demand that parents followed him wherever he went. His session with parents was intense and produc ve. Ÿ Ms. Swapna Sen, an interna onally renowned Story Teller & Puppeteer from Kolkata conducted puppet shows and storytelling session with the kids and parents. Her lively and drama c storytelling performances kept people of all ages spellbound. Her workshop fired the imagina on of the children and inculcated important values in them. She also taught her audience to make simple puppets with paper. She also used light to enact shadow puppets. Ÿ Ms. Radharani Sharma from Jharsuguda conducted workshop on Calligraphy and papercra . It helped the children to focus on correc ng their wri ng techniques. Her workshop focused on the hands on ps to improve a beginner's hand wri ng in this digital age. Ÿ Ms Sunita Agrawal from Jharsuguda conducted workshop on Abacus which helped the visitors to improve
their mental math and develop mathema cal skills. She made Math more interes ng and fun by teaching the children on using fingers as an Abacus Tool Ÿ The main highlight of the 2-day event was the 3D Mobile Planetarium which enthralled the audience.
GoToInc Planetarium, Kolkata provided the perfect learning environment for people of all age groups. This fascina ng experience of the 3D show dazzled the budding astronomers as they were taken on a tour of the solar system. The parents and children witnessed the night sky and galaxy of stars They saw the celes al bodies being projected on the dome. A Food Court was setup in the school ground of the Main campus where parents and children enjoyed various snacks and ice-cream of leading brands that was served at the stalls. There was an open session on paren ng by Fazil Sir. Vote of Thanks was delivered by the Principal. Learning Kiva le thrilling memories in the hearts of each who visited the Cultural Fest. Na onal Anthem marked the end of the event.

2. Orientation Class of UKG 19 February 2016 UKG students from Pre-Primary were sent to class-I so that they get acquainted to the new class room condi ons and the teacher. Mrs.Renu Tiwari, class teacher of grade-I engaged the students of UKG from 16th19th February. She took the students around the campus, introduced them to each and every staff teaching as well as non-teaching. Students were very happy to be in the new classroom. They also learnt about the curriculum and rules to be followed. The aim was to have a smooth transi on of students from Pre-Primary to Primary sec on. The idea proposed by Mr. J. Mdhav was executed by Mrs. Renu Tiwari, Mrs. Chanchal Dua and Mrs. Seema Singh. th
3. Convocation Day in Pre-Primary Section 24 February 2016 On 24th of Febuary was the last day of the academic year 2015-16 for the pre-primary sec on of main campus as well as city campus of Aparna World School. Naturally it celebrated its most exci ng, memorable and heart touching event for the students who were supposed to join the main campus or promoted to the Primary sec on. The children as well as the concerned teachers cherished each moment that certainly le an indelible impression on each one`s mind. The very day began as usual with the Morning Prayer, followed with the tradi onal method of introduc on- the Circle Time. Surprisingly, the kids' expressed their most precious and adorable feelings about their teachers. For a change the children relished their breakfast in the lawn rather than in the dining space. Further, the children played few games like passing the balls with the teachers making them feel relaxed and filled with fun and frolic. At the end, each child was presented with a handmade colourful crown declaring them as the 'King` or `Queens' of Aparna World School. This token of love handed by the teachers to their students will definitely prove to be the most preserved memorable treasure in mes to come. th
4. Parent Teacher Meet in Pre Primary 29 February 2016 th
The academic session of 2015-16 concluded with a Parent Teacher Meet on Monday, 29 Feb,2016. Parents eager to see the performance of their chidren arrived at the designated me, 9:00 a.m. -12:00 noon to collect the progress report and por olio. The Assessment Records along with the por olios, consis ng of the en re year's worksheets, were handed over to the parents in a neatly spiral bound document. The por olios had photographs of individual children par cipa ng in different events and classroom ac vity. The por olio also had a poem tled,” Here I Come” presen ng the achievements of the children in the current year and their hopes for the next grade. The U.KG children were awarded with Pre School Gradua on Cer ficates which made the parents feel proud. Also the students were awarded for Best A endance and medals were presented to them.

5. Student Speak I am Shaurya Srivastav, a student of class IV. For almost a year I had a great experience in the school. This school gives equal importance to studies as well as co- curricular ac vi es. I am a student of Yoga and was happy to see Yoga classes being held in school on regular basis. Recently I won gold medal in Yoga in my category at Banglore. I like the school because it is different from other schools in all aspects. Our classroom is airy and spacious; playground is huge and a good educa onal environment. Teachers gives us opportunity to explore our ideas, mo vates us to take part in the events held. They provide us with modern techniques which help us to understand our lessons. I was selected as a Deputy Head Girl of the school and I love to share responsibili es. We have come to an end of our session 20152016 with great enthusiasm. I am eagerly wai ng for the new session.
6. Olympiad Results 2nd February 2015 th th Silver Zone conducted Science and Math Olympiad on 9 December, 2015 and 10 December, 2015 respec vely in our school. Many children took ac ve par cipa on in the Olympiads to map their skills and ap tude for science and math. Coaching classes and mock tests were conducted during the extended period to give an exposure about the types and trends of objec ve ques ons to be asked. The number of medals won and posi on cer ficates acquired showed their hard work and dedica on. School received the medals and cer ficates in the month of February. In morning assembly, the Principal of the school honored the achievers with cer ficates and medals.
