W

ith dedicated teachers from various fields of knowledge and experience undertaking the task of educating young minds, Aparna World School stands tall adhering to its values in its everyday work culture and education system. The best part of the education system followed by the school is that it gives equal importance to the extra-curricular activities like dancing, sports, art, karate, yoga technology, etc, as it treats subject teaching as integral part of school system. Students also get chance to learn life style management. The teachers are regularly given training on various aspects of teaching-learning to enhance their skills and capability so as to grow as an educator confident enough to meet any challenge. It also helps the teachers to grow as a person. The first term of the academic session has come to an end and students have participated in so many competitions and events up till now. Teacher's Day was celebrated with much fervor in the month of September. Open Day gave parents the opportunity to meet the teacher of their ward and learn about the academic development as well as expectations relevant to that grade level. It's so hard to believe that the end of the year is almost upon us! Time really seemed to fly by this year! I'm very proud that the students have noticed a real improvement in their skills just over the past few months. With academic programme and activities lined up throughout the year there is never a dull moment in school. As we begin to close out this year, we are already looking forward to the next one and are planning accordingly.

Hindi Diwas (Main Campus) 14thSeptember th

Hindi Diwas is celebrated across the country on 14 of September each year to commemorate the historic occasion as well as to mark the importance of Hindi as the most widely spoken language in India. With an aim to rekindle the love for India's official language among students, Aparna World School celebrated 'Hindi Diwas' .The morning assembly was conducted in Hindi by the respective house captain in-charge of the week's assembly. Ms. Sonika Sharma addressed the assembly and enlightened the young students about the importance of the Hindi language. She also read out a few lines from the poem “Nar Ho Na Nirash Karo Mann Ko� by Maithilisharan Gupt. The celebration served to propagate the Hindi language. Hindi as a language in its current form developed during freedom struggle and the Hindi press played a vital role in struggle for independence. It has been a carrier of cultural heritage and values to a large section of people.

Teachers Day Celebration (Main Campus) 4th September

"Teachers are the torch bearers of the Gen-next" th Aparna World School celebrated Teacher's Day on 4 September, 2015 with much pomp and revelry at the main campus.All the faculty members, staff and students were present to pay a tribute to Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan.The program began with lightning of the lamp and honouring our ex-president, Dr. Radhakrishnan with garland. This was followed by the prayer song “Guru Vandana” by all teachers. The school's Principal then shared a few thoughts enlightening the young minds about the importance of the day and highlighting the achievements of the great visionary. The students too prepared speeches and special messages thanking the teachers for their teachings. There were scintillating performances by the senior group – both boys and girls.Various games were arranged for the teachers in which all participated with much enthusiasm. The program concluded with the prize distribution of the winners of the games. The faculty members and staff of the school were presented with gifts as a token of appreciation for their hard work and constructive support.In the City Campus the teachers were greeted with tilak as a mark of respect by Anshika Agarwal. Students' also welcomed the teachers with flowers and handmade cards.Respect was paid to Dr. S. Radhakrishnan by garlanding his portrait and lighting the lamp. After Guru Vandana, the Centre head Ms Chanchal Dua delivered a speech on importance of teacher in one`s life. Divyam Agarwal of Nursery also gave a speech. Few students performed cultural items to express their affection and gratitude to their teachers. The school takes the pride to honour Dr. S. Radhakrishnan.

Built Environment Ms. Subhra Raje (Main Campus) 10th September Ms Subhra Raje from Built Environments visited the Main Campus of Aparna World School on 10th September, 2015. She happens to be the architect of the school and has designed the layout of structures built and the rest likely to come in future. An interactive session was organized between Ms Raje and the teaching faculty and office staff in the multipurpose hall. She explained her vision of education and the task to lay down a design taking into account the landscape, local weather conditions and present and future needs. She explained in detail the rationale behind designing building blocks as cluster of classrooms as “villages” specific to particular age group. Teachers asked questions regarding usage of space in classrooms which are essential for teaching- learning process such as use of semi open spaces, open spaces, large windows to allow air and light, laying soft boards and green boards, screening sunrays in the summer. She was made aware of lack of facilities like infirmary, auditorium, less number of washrooms. She informed the teachers about proper use of open and semi-open spaces and use of each space available. She dealt with the positive side of preserving our environment and connecting the knowledge community with elements of nature-air, light and green ambience surrounding the open space. She urged the teaching faculty to employ innovative ideas in utilizing space rather than be confined to conventional classes. Engage classes in the lap of nature so that learners value natural resources and harness the benefits of nature to develop as a complete person. A generation addicted to air conditioners and fast food has a claustrophobic view of community. Open spaces generate open mind and free thinking. She asked to build a child friendly class and more congenial relation between teachers and taught. Optimum and varied utilization of space in the Montessori classrooms was explained by her. The interactive session like this was required proved to quite fruitful.

Blue Day (Main Campus) 30th September th

The pre primary wing of Aparna World School celebrated “Blue Day” on 30 of September as blue was selected as the color of the month. The theme was “Save Water”. The children had arrived in blue attires on that day. The children were explained the uses of water and the various sources of water as well. They were further sensitized on “How Water is Life” and “Conservation of Water “as a necessity of the time. Each child was made to realize the importance of water to sustain life on planet Earth. They were introduced to few aquatic animals. They were explained about the way to differentiate between pure and impure water. Blue is the color of water and due to abundance of water our planet Earth is known as blue planet. Finally the children colored a badge with the legend “Save Water”. They wore the badge to spread the message of judicious use of water as the need of eco-system. At the City Campus, after the assembly the children were made aware of the significance of water in our life and the importance of saving water. The children were also told to explore the various blue things around them. They were given images of aquatic animals to color. A display board was prepared where thumb impressions of children helped to make images of aquatic animals. Video clips on uses and sources of water as well as water as a habitat of aquatic animals were also screened. At the end of the event badges were distributed to students with the message” Save Earth Conserve Water“.

Food Day (Main Campus) 11 September th

Food Day was celebrated in the main campus of Aparna World School on 11 of September, 2015 with propulsion of a variety of eatables. This day was genuinely meant to educate the child regarding the food safety norms, addressing nutrition and other food –related issues. This was the practical food exhibition in the school curriculum. The event also focused on enlightening the young minds regarding table manners, how to avoid the assorted junk foods and also enriched them regarding the importance of traditional homemade food. The children were informed to get dishes in connection with their respective tradition and cultures.Though, our classes constituted of an amalgamation of a varied range of ethics, the event was largely interpreted and observed by the lot. The kids of all Preprimary sections were endowed to dine together to promote equality as well as the diversity of our civilization. The children rejoiced the mouth watering dishes to their heart's content with a distinct and definite flavor of fun and frolic. At the City Campus, children brought food from their home to represent their culture and tradition. Parents showed great enthusiasm and sent their traditional dishes. During recess all of them sat together in a properly arranged hall with chairs and tables. The teachers explained about healthy food habits and the different types of food with the help of display materials. They were also advised to avoid eating junk foods. They were explained the value of sharing food and table manners. The children were very eager to show their tiffins and share it with their friends. Teacher took the initiative to share the food and distributed it among all the children. The curiosity of children was solved by explaining them the specialty of various dishes brought by them. The kids relished the food and also learnt about Indian Culture and the importance of food in our life. This was a real time food exhibition incorporated in the school curriculum. The program would not have been a success without the co-operation of mothers. Their active involvement was of great help in organizing such activities.

Green Day (Main Campus) 30 th October th

The pre primary wing of Aparna World School celebrated “Green Day” on 30 of October as color of the month.”Save Trees” was the theme of the day. The students arrived in green attires highlighting the importance of Green Day. Green color symbolizes nature and creativity. The teachers explained how trees are part of nature and our every need is intimately connected to nature. The teacher also urged on “Plantation of Trees” for every person. The children further enjoyed “Collage making of Tree” and undertook a nature walk highlighting the theme of this day. The children prepared a wrist band carrying a logo “Go Green” to spread the message beyond school. It definitely left an indelible impression on young minds and hearts. Through these kinds of various activities children were sensitized towards our dependence on nature and to make “Earth Green”. At the City Campus, the students did paper pasting on a sketch of trees depicting a picture of a beautiful tree with fresh green leaves. The teachers had also prepared a display material of forest with lots of trees and animals. To create awareness for the parents' wrist bands of green color with a “Go Green” slogan was made and tied to the wrist of children. Children enjoyed nature walk.

Open Day & Parent Teacher meet (Main Campus) 30 thSeptember

At the end of Term-I, Open Day and Parent Teacher's meet was organized in Aparna World School on 30 September, 2015(Wednesday). Primary section had Open Day and Pre primary section had Parent Teacher's meet between 8:00am – 11:00am. In Open Day parents met the teachers and saw the performance of their ward in Summative Assessment – I. They also interacted with teachers to seek their suggestion regarding enhancement of academic output. Few parents suggested improving teaching learning. Parents also interacted with the Director to put in their demand regarding school timing, transport and power availability in the school. In Pre-primary section the parents saw the worksheets of their ward and interacted with teachers to seek their help regarding studies, behavior at home and eating habits. Some of the feedbacks given by the parents were as follows: @Prakriti Behera's mother of play group student was happy with her child's improvement. @Parent of Ridit Sinha(LKG) suggested to encourage extracurricular activites. @UKG student, Somya Mahala's parent recommended to improve the eating habits of the child. At last all teachers left to attend a workshop on “ChildAbuse” organized by 'Srishti Life' in the town.

International Girls Child Day (Main Campus) 11th October th

The International Day of Girl Child (Day of the girl) is celebrated annually on 11 October to highlight the issues concerning the gender th inequality facing young girls. To mark the 4 International day of girl child, Aparna World School observed this day in the morning th assembly on 9 October and highlighted the need to get more girls in school and improve the quality of learning for all children. Ms. Surbhi Singh of Class – VI shared her views through a speech on saving a girl child. She also threw light on the campaign “Beti BachaoBeti Padhao” commenced by our honourable Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi. Ms. Shagun Sahu of Class- II recited a beautiful poem on “Daughters” (Betiyan) in Hindi. A short skit was prepared by Mr. Darbara Singh and was enacted by Ayush Pandey, Anushka Singh, Aditi Sakunia and Vidya Kumari of Class – III on the bias of parents towards male child and gender inequality. Investing in adolescent girls can have a formidable ripple effect to create a better world by 2030. On International Day of the Girl Child, the teachers and students resolved to highlight the challenges faced by adolescent girls and also the potential benefit to future world community.

World Student Day (Main Campus) 15 th October th

United Nations Organization (UNO) declared 15 October, 2015 as World Student's Day to honor Dr A.P.J.Abdul Kalam the inspirational personality also known as “The Missile Man”. He had a lifelong passion to interact with the students of school and college. After he retired from the office of the President he inspired the students and the youth of the country through interaction, speeches and writings. Aparna World School observed this day by a special morning assembly where the students were sensitized by the teachers about the significance of this day. Ms. Seema Singh referred to his last speech before his demise on the topic “Creating a Livable Planet Earth” and interpreted on how today's generation can preserve the planet and make it a place worth living. Ms. Prantika Chakraborty shared the story of a long gone era of the country where a brave and loyal student, Eklavya depicted the true value of a teacher in one's life. The story delivered the message about the purity of a teacher-student relationship and as to how with true dedication impossible can be achieved. Dr.APJAbdul Kalam related to the youth of the country and had faith in the young minds regarding the development of humanity at large.

Trip to Supermarket (Sarbahal)

19 th October

With an intention to sensitize the Pre primary school children on groceries, fruits and vegetables used in daily life, Aparna World School th organized a trip to the supermarket at Sarbhal Road on 19 October.Atrip to Big Bazaar's Grocery, fruit and vegetable section encouraged kids to adopt health-conscious choices. With a little extra attention to signs around the supermarket, the teachers helped the kids to learn the significance of groceries, fruits and vegetables in their day to day lives. At the supermarket, the teachers pointed out all the different shapes, colors and sizes of food one can find in the fruit and vegetable section. The teachers encouraged the young ones to take in the sights, smells, textures and tastes that fresh items had to offer. The grocery items that carry a mandatory place in every mother's kitchen proved to be educational and attractive to the kids. As they meandered through the store, the children learnt about the health benefits of the different fruits and vegetables and how it can help them grow up and remain active. The young minds were also enlightened on the relevance of saving food too. Fruit and vegetables that came from different parts of the world were also a great way to teach geography. The children were taught about the process of purchasing and billing of items in the super market.

Rangoli Competition & Trip to Supermarket Image Gallery

Competition held at Aparna World School Rangoli Competition (Main Campus) 29th September In order to enhance creativity and unleash the hidden potential of the students, Aparna World School created a platform to showcase th their talent by organizing a Rangoli Competition on 29 of September at the Main Campus. Students of Classes I- VI participated with a lot of enthusiasm as they put together their artistic, imaginative and creative skills to make bright and beautiful Rangoli's. Our students exhibited their flair in the art by making beautiful Rangoli designs using geometric shapes, deity impressions and floral motifs. The judges Ms. Shreya Joshi and Ms.Aparna Kaviraj judged them on the basis of symmetry, colour combination, creativity and the neatness of the Rangoli patterns. The following were declared the winners based on the judgement criteria.
