1. Staff Picnic (Koilighugur) 9th January 2016 Picnics adds spice to our life. They provide the much sought a er relief from our rou ne life. The teachers of Aparna World School strived hard for the perfec on of their students and worked hard throughout the year. In recogni on of their dedicated service to the ins tu on, the management gave an opportunity to the teaching and non- teaching staff to go on a staff picnic to unwind and get rejuvenated. Accommodated in one bus, the staff members made their way to Koilighugur early in the morning on 9th January. Songs, snacks and smiling faces made the journey a befi ng beginning to a fun filled day. The picnic party's arrival was an cipated and breakfast was served on arrival. The exquisite scenic beauty of Koilighugur waterfall and the steeped untamed background forest makes it a perfect picnic spot. Inside the fall there was a Shivaling which is submerged in water and not ordinarily visible. Apart from relaxa on and enjoyment the picnic also aimed at building up team spirit among the members of the staff. The teachers enjoyed preparing lunch, various games, the scenic beauty and also shook a leg to popular songs just before lunch was served. The staff members le the des na on at around 4:30pm with pleasant memories of a relaxing day spent well with the colleagues. Though the picnic was only for a day but the memories will linger for a long me. Encosed among the dense forests, the waterfall of Koilighugur with its serene atmosphere, waterfalls, temples and lush green thick vegeta on provided all ingredients of a perfect picnic spot. Naughty monkeys and agile fishes in water entertained the visitors. 2. Annual Sports Day Celebration (Main Campus) 23rd January 2016 "The moment of victory is much too short to live for that and nothing else" – Mar na Navra lova. Apart from commemora ng victories, sports meets also aims at impar ng lessons on sportsman spirit and companionship to children. Aparna World School organised its 1st Annual Sports Day on 23rd January at the school ground of the Main Campus.The gli ering opening ceremony commenced with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Mr. Jeetan Patel, MBBS. The Chief Guest unfurled the school flag signalling the start of the meet. It was then followed by March Past by the four Houses that exhibited discipline and hard prac ce of the students. The Chief Guest then lit the athle cs flame which was followed by the oath taking ceremony where the students solemnly pledged to uphold the spirit of the true sportsmanship. A colourful and eye-pleasing drill presenta on was showcased by the students of L.K.G., U.K.G., Class-I and II. This was followed by demonstra on of 'Surya Namaskar' by Classes I to VI which preceded the track and field events. Then there was a Karate demonstra on which le the spectators spellbound. The long awaited athle cs events were held which included the Hoopla Ho (Play group), track events like Relay Race, Shot-put, Discuss throw etc. A er the students' events, the parents also par cipated enthusias cally in the events scheduled for them. 3. Republic Day Celebration (Main & City Campus) 26 th January 2016 th 67 Republic Day was observed at Aparna World School on 26 January 2016. Principal Dr. A.K Sihna hoisted the Na onal Flag and took the salute of the March-Past of the Houses. He also gave message that sustenance and development of Indian Republic depended on serving the people in whichever voca on or posi on they were. Head Boy Aditya Sakunia and Head Girl Surbhi Singh spoke on the history and importance of Republic Day. Harshal Urmalia sang a patrio c song. Deputy Head Boy Zaid Hussain stated that Indian Republic is progressing but is infested with problems like extremism, communalism etc. Sulagna Nanda of class Nursery gave a speech on the importance of Republic Day. Sweets distribu on concluded the Republic Day func on. .The event in city campus began with welcoming everyone by Miss Radhika Jaiswal.This was followed by a welcome speech of Our Centre Head Mrs. Chanchal Dua. The Flag was hoisted by the chief guest Mr. J.Madhav( Manager Opera ons of AWS), which was followed by the Na onal Anthem and a small speech. The ny tots also sang a beau ful song (Intni Shak Hume De Na Data) which was really commendable. The parents also shared their patrio c feelings. At last the event culminated with vote of thanks delivered by Mrs Puspalata Barada. The children were offered sweets at the end of the func on. th 4. Orange Day (Main & City Campus) 29 January 2016 The Orange colour is shown on the top band of our na onal flag and symbolizes courage and sacrifice. Orange s mulates enthusiasm, crea vity, hope and prosperity. Aparna World School celebrated orange day on Friday, 29th January 2016 at both the campus. It was pleasant to see everyone in proper orange dress which showed their respect towards the school. The children were welcomed with a Rangoli made up of petals of orange Marie gold and a beau ful board decorated with different orange colour pictures and Candels. Before the break we had a photo session at the garden area to make it memorable forever. In class hour the respec ve class teachers taught the children how to make paper Candels and paper pas ng on pictures of different fruits and vegetables which were of orange in colour. At the end of the day they were gi ed the Candels to take their home. Throughout the day the children were filled with enthusiasm and enjoyed the day a lot. In order to infuse the concept of orange color to ny toddlers of Pre-primary wing celebrated 'Orange day' in the main campus on 29th January 2016. Children learnt about the color orange that forms the top band of our Na onal Flag that symbolizes courage and sacrifice. Orange is a dynamic color that s mulates imagina on and crea vity. Our li le kids were dressed in shades of orange, shining brightly. The children learnt various other things about the orange color which also symbolizes enthusiasm, hopes and prosperity. Classroom was decorated with beau ful Rangoli on floor with orange marigold flower. The children of Nursery and Kindergarten did paper tearing ac vity .They made orange fruit by bits of paper tearing in their scrapbook. Children were asked to bring orange colored objects on that day. They brought many objects like orange, orange so toys, orange toy car and many other orange colored things. The children of kindergarten did interes ng ac vi es on “Show and Tell” related to this color. The teachers taught the names of the objects to the children. And finally nursery children were handed over orange color lamp shade made with origami sheet to take away home. The li le ones enjoyed the day to the fullest and learnt about orange color as well. 5. Visit to Gandhi Park (Pre-Primary Section) 30 th January 2016 With gleaming eyes, broad smiles, excitement all round the students of pre primary sec ons of Aparna World School were taken for a Visit to a Park on 30.01.16. The children first of all enjoyed the bus ride to the much awaited "Gandhi Park". The place was well maintained and hygienic for the children. On reaching the park, as they moved all around the ny toddlers picked up new words likes grass, flowers, trees etc. The place was filled with laughter and joy of the small kids. The kids cherished, relaxed and rejoiced each moment in the park away from their regular and systema c way of teaching and learning. They enjoyed their breakfast brought from home. A er then all the children were segregated according to their class and played various games with their respec ve class teachers. One swing ride was also there in which children swung and enjoyed a lot. The children were very much happy to see a monkeys si ng on the tree. A er then group photographs had been taken up according to the class with their class teachers. It was such an enjoyable and memorable day for all of us. The day ended with laughter and sweet memories.

6. Parent Teacher Meet (Main Campus) 30 January 2016 th Parent Teacher meet was held at Aparna World School, Primary wing on 30 January. Parent along with their ward assembled in the Mul purpose Hall. The Principal and teachers were present to address the parents. Principal laid down the achievement of the school before the school. Ques on were ask by parents regarding extended period, examina on and mo va on among children. They were also addressed by Manager Opera ons Mr. J. Madhav. He shared his view on eec ve learning processes. In the individual session parents meet the class teacher and subject teachers to ďŹ nd out the academic achievement and behavioral changes of their ward. 6. International Himalaya Yoga Olympiad (SVYASA, BENGULURU) 3 January 2016 st

Aparna world school in, 21 Interna onal Conference on Fron ers In Yoga Research and Applica on. Odisha Yoga Team consis ng of Shaurya Srivavstava of std IV, including others 23 par cipants led by Sushil Kumar Mahakur, yoga teacher Aparna Wolrld School Jharsuguda par cipated In Interna onal Himalaya Yoga Olympiad - 2016 held at Prashan Ku ram , Swami Vivekanand Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana University, Benguluru from 31st December to 3rd January, 2016. Shaurya Srivastava of our school secured 2nd posi on and received award from Central AYUSH Minister(GOI) Sj. Sripad Yasso Naik.

1. Kite and Card Making Competition (Main Campus) 14th January 2016 th Kite making and card making compe on was held in Aparna World School on 14 January 2016. Students of class I and II par cipated in card making and class III to VI in Kite making compe on. The compe on was judged by Art teacher Shreya Joshi.
