On behalf of our Matawan Aberdeen Chamber, we wish all members of our community a pleasant and safe summer season. Matawan Mayor Remembered

Robert Shuey, former Mayor of Matawan, passed away peacefully Sunday June 11th in Florida after a short illness.

Robert was a self employed house painter and owner of Wet Paint, Inc. for over 30 years. He was the former Mayor of Matawan from 1989 to 1996. He was heavily involved in the Matawan community and was Chairman of the Republican Party and Chairman of the Matawan Tricentennial Committee in 1986 and a member of the Burrowes Mansion Skirmish Committee. Robert and his wife moved to Toms River in 2003. Robert moved to Plantation, FL in 2018 and enjoyed his retirement reading books and gardening.
