ABERDEEN’S NORTHLAND PARK NEXT UP FOR PARK IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

Park’s Committee nearly $1 million ap propriation. “After finished, Northland will be one of our premier parks, and will be a hub for Pickleball players of all ages,” Councilwoman Connie Kelley said in regards to the upgrades. The park is designed and will include: a brand new parking lot for ease of access six pickleball courts a new basketball court a gazebo to sit and have a bite to eat playscapes for ages 5-12 as well as one for ages 2-5.

The park is also slated to be fitted with security cameras and lights to keep the premises safe and clean. All in all, the park is gearing up to be a fantastic addition to the many places in Aberdeen where one can have a great time with the family.

This summer, our hours have expanded a bit – on Saturdays, we will be open from 9am-1pm (instead of 12:30) so you have a little more time to pop in for your beach/pool reads! (Our regular Saturday hours revert back to 9am-5pm on September 9th!) We are open on Sundays from 12-5pm year-round. Don’t forget to stop by the library to learn about and sign up for our summer reading program for kids, teens, and adults and all of the great events and activities we have planned. Here are a few super special ones: After Hours Music is back on Friday, July 14th at 7pm! Vocalist/guitarist Ken Lelen will entertain and delight with classic love songs. Registration is required. Our kids’ Halfway PJ Party is on Saturday, July 15th from 9am-1pm. It’s the halfway point of our summer reading program - come celebrate with us at an awesome pajama party! Sing karaoke, do some silly Mad Libs, and decorate your very own sleep mask. Put on your PJs and come join the fun! Open to chil-
