Springfling! Springfling!

UPDATE FROM ANDREWS

Dear family members and friends of Andrews Senior Care,

We had a busy month at our homes. We celebrated St. Patrick’s Day, took part in Easter season traditions like Ash Wednesday, participated in tulip fundraisers and hosted members of the P.E.I. Symphony.

This month, we will be celebrating Easter, enjoying live musical performances, taking part in the annual Burger Love tradition and hosting the Young at Heart Theatre Company for their annual performance

It’s going to be a fun-filled month. We hope your April is as exciting as ours. Happy Easter!

Sincerely,

Team member Laura MacArthur, an LPN, and resident Anna Doucette share a laugh while walking to lunch at Andrews of Summerside

Residents at our homes showed off their Irish spirit during St. Patrick's Day festivities. We celebrated with traditional Irish meals like corned beef and Irish stew as well as parties featuring Irish music, green beer and Irish trivia!

Everything is waking up and coming to life. The first flowers are daffodils and then the robins and birds come. The sunshine, the warmth of it, that lovely sun. - Camilla MacPhee

I enjoy watching things grow And mostly of every spring when the flowers and things come up in the woods, there’s all kinds of different flowers that grow in the woods. They just multiply, they’re beautiful. - Nancy Bourque

We

asked. . .

residents what they enjoy or look forward to most about spring.

I always had a garden. We did a vegetable garden. We always put a few potatoes in and beets, loved beets, that’s one of our favourites. We put a fairly good variety in. - Betty Madren

I don’t like the snow so I’m glad that the snow is gone. I just like it when it’s fresh. - Mary Ratelle

The sun. It’s a good colour yellow. I like the park and the flowers that grow up in front of the houses. - Laszlo Koleszar

We

asked. . .

residents what they enjoy or look forward to most about spring.

I like to see more sunshine and the snow leaving. I like to see the grass start to become greener and the flowers blossoming. I’m addicted to flowers, I think. You can get outside and sit in the sun if it’s not to hot. You don’t have to worry about whether you have a jacket. - Debra Gallant

The coming of the pretty flowers, the warm weather. We always had a garden home. - Jean Profitt

The weather. It’s nice out, I get out more often. I do a lot more walking. I’ll go from here up to the Wal-Mart. I’ll do that two times a day. - Marvin MacEwen
