A NEW YEAR WITH NEW OPPORTUNITIES As we wrap up 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we’ve shared this year. It hasn’t always been easy, but together, we’ve turned challenges into achievements, and every step forward has been a testament to the strength of our team. This year, we saw remarkable progress across our homes. The addition and conversion of LTC beds at Stratford, Summerside, and Park West may seem straightforward from the outside, but behind the scenes it required careful planning, coordination, and relentless effort. We identified gaps where it mattered most and filled them—thanks to everyone’s dedication. When Amanda went on leave to welcome baby Hayden, our DOC team seamlessly stepped in for months, ensuring continuity with no fuss, until Riley joined the team. These moments, though behind-the-scenes, showcase the resilience and adaptability that define Andrews. We also celebrated great achievements in our resident experience. Our results in the global team survey by Accreditation Canada were outstanding, and our Resident Survey at Andrews showed just how much our dedication is appreciated. On the expansion front, Andrews of Charlottetown has started growing to add 90 new beds, helping meet the increasing demand for LTC in PEI. Beyond operational milestones, we’ve shared moments that remind us why this work matters. Team Appreciation Week, the Milestone Dinner for our long-term team members, Family Day at Shining Waters, and our festive Christmas parties have brought joy, connection, and pride to our work. Seeing happy faces across these events fills my heart with gratitude. My philosophy at work over the past two decades has not changed: a happy team creates happy customers—in our case, happy residents and families. So we try to create an environment where our team can be themselves and thrive. Remember, every day, small improvements compound into extraordinary results. “Progress over perfection” should be our goal, focusing on constant improvement in every role, every task, and every interaction. Looking ahead to 2026, there is exciting work ahead. Alana, Cathy, and our Directors of Care and team are leading preparations for the Accreditation Canada survey in Q1. Achieving this accreditation would make us the first private home in PEI to do so. But beyond the recognition, this process is teaching us how much more we can streamline, organize, and improve in our homes. It’s a chance to grow together and set a new standard of care. As we close the year, I want to sincerely thank each of you for your unwavering commitment, energy, and teamwork. Work will never be easy, but we get to choose whether it’s stressful and mundane—or uplifting, inspiring, and fun. I hope this holiday season brought you joy, rest, and time with your loved ones.
