The University of Michigan Urban and Regional Planning Capstone, in collaboration with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), analyzed over 100 laws, policies, and decrees at the national level in Colombia, using the Law and Climate Change Toolkit (https://climatelawtoolkit.org/). The study emphasized the importance of territorial planning instruments and multi-level governance to promote low emissions urban development and ensure that vulnerable communities adapt to climate change and flourish. Students have identified opportunities for strengthening the connections between urban planning and climate change law at the national, sub-national, regional, and local levels.
